I've found a dead mouse in the cellar. I'm pathetic with mice and spiders.

Badders what's the plan? You were applying for stuff before weren't you, or thinking about studying?

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 23/04/2015 14:34

Surely pina colada has got to be better than the actual taste of jizz? #justsayin

I laid back & thought of Santi, BTW Grin Until she had to withdraw & start all over again with me tilted. FFS.

FancyFancy · 23/04/2015 15:04

I've just seen a nuthatch on my birdfeeder Smile

#easilypleased

There also seems to be a massive aerial battle between some red kites and now some crows have arrived to see what the heck's going on. It's all go here.

Glad you survived sparks Grin, at my last smear the nurse had to call the doctor in to find my cervix Confused, it's never tried hiding before.

BloodyElkFire · 23/04/2015 15:09

You've just reminded me of Athos "withdrawing, for now" Grin

Well done sparks. I haven't booked mine. I find smears the most painful thing EVER.

Off to watch links.

Baddz · 23/04/2015 16:23

I dont find smears too bad chaise...mind you, you could probably park a small Volkswagen up my chuff these days....:(
Any more art elk? You should approach local galleries IMHO. You are very talented.
I am properly pre blob...feel sick, headache, hate EVERYONE...ugh.
Ds2 watching Minecraft, ds1 giggling like mad at something upstairs (probably also Minecraft)
I saw a pic today it said...
"Life was easier when Apple and blackberries were just fruit"
I can't help but agree :)

Enormouse · 23/04/2015 16:52

Hello everyone.

I'm back.

Just excuse me a bit whilst I get caught up……

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 23/04/2015 17:06

MOUSE!! SmileSmile

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/04/2015 17:11

Hi Mouse :)

Wenches, I am back. All went fine, slightly disconcerting havign the tooth filed to let them get to the nerve and then cauterised (felt variously like a horse having it's teeth done then a goat being de-horned). but all Ok. Tooth is a bit tender, but to be expected. (Cracks open Annabel Karmel recepie book for tasty mush recipes Grin)

Then DS decided to bike to playground after school to play with friends, so that was good - I feel better about him going straight on the computer when we got in the door! Off to sort out tea now - theoretically, if I don't get distracted...

ApricotCrush · 23/04/2015 17:31

Glad all went well Sparks and Helen.

Me too with spiders Lyndie. There was one on our bed yesterday. It wasn't very big, and in trying to catch it on a paper to put it out of the window it ran under the bed. I'm scared it'll be crawling over me in the night. If it had been big I'd have been in the spare room.

FancyFancy · 23/04/2015 17:45

Welcome back mouse!

Glad it went well helen - you could always have some soup? Wink

ChaiseLounger · 23/04/2015 18:05

Oh Helen, thank goodness it's finally done though.
Welcome back Mouse. Sorry where have you been again? Were you on holiday or unwell?

Alibabsandthe40Musketeers · 23/04/2015 18:36

Welcome back Mouse :)

Helen and Sparks - yay!

Have retired to bed due to horrendous PMT, DH is holding the fort. Am halfway through episode 10 - AAARRRRGGHHH. That is all for now Grin

MadamedeChevreuse · 23/04/2015 18:37

MOUSE!!!!!!!!!

How are things in casa mouse? We missed you. How are the motorbike lessons going btw?

helen glad it went ok. Dont feel guilty about ds. You deserve a bit of down time. Ive still got a bastard headache so am currently sitting on sofa with ds watching httyd1, and pizza for dinner, refusing to feel guilty.

I stubbornly went to see Avengers today anyway though.

MadamedeChevreuse · 23/04/2015 18:40

Oh yes and fancys AWOL cervix.

Baddz · 23/04/2015 18:46

Mouse!
Welcome back.
My tooth is fucking hurting tonight. Only a week to go :(
Glad you are ok helen.
Dh has gone grocery shopping (he prefers to do this alone as he thinks he spends less than me....this is true but only because he buys cheap nasty stuff. Grr)
amazing how many of us are pre blob!
Am going to bed when Dh gets back.
Fuck it.

FancyFancy · 23/04/2015 19:05

Glad it amused you madame Grin.

I wasn't as memorable as my first one though. The doctor put the speculum in & then realised she hadn't got a swab to hand, so she wandered off to get one. Leaving me & my involuntarily tightening muscles worried that if she wasn't quick, it would be expelled across the room like a ping-pong ball in a Thai sex-show Grin

Baddz · 23/04/2015 19:22

Sorry - didn't answer job question!
I would ideally like a pt job in admin/clerical but they are like hens teeth.
And of course I have been out of the job market for years and employers simply dont care how much voluntary work you have done, or how many OU courses you have taken...
So I keep applying but I have had 2 interviews and its turns out both were zero hours contracts which is no good for me. I can't some in on a moments notice and need to know what hours I'm doing.
Sigh.
So...have applied for 3 jobs today on the nhs website (my last job was at the local hospital) I won't even get an interview, but it makes me feel like I am doing something
Have been wondering about re training but as what!?
also very wary about taking on more debt.

Enormouse · 23/04/2015 19:28

Things in casa mouse have been a bit hectic.

Mr M is on ads now too. But his mood is much better and a lot less erratic.

Toddlermouse had his paediatric panel assessment yesterday. He's going to continue to see his SLT and has been referred onto an educational psychologist and a music therapist to see if they can offer more support and get him talking. Hopefully, we can get someone a bit more specialised into preschool to work with him regularly as well. They are querying autism as he has a few traits that put him on the spectrum but there's a year's waiting list to get that diagnosis here.

But the general consensus is that they don't know what's going on with toddlermouse.

MadamedeChevreuse · 23/04/2015 19:28

bads, have you looked into signing on? Might be a way to get some funded training?

fancy Grin I bet that has actually happened to some unsuspecting gp at some point.

Why do they have to make speculums (specula??) out of hard, cold metal with sharp edges anyway?

Surely some kind of plastic would be possible.

#patriarchystrikesagain

MadamedeChevreuse · 23/04/2015 19:30

Sad Flowers mouse. That all sounds really stressful. Are you doing ok?

Baddz · 23/04/2015 19:34

Mouse
The ball is rolling and that's good. I like the sound of music therapy! I hope you and Mrm are both feeling better.
It's hugely stressful looking after a child with additional needs...ds1 nearly broke me as a baby.
BUT we are still here and all is well.
X

FancyFancy · 23/04/2015 19:36

I know the nhs will also pay tuition fees for some degrees, not sure if they pay for training for other qualifications, or what level you would want to train at badders?

I'm glad toddlermouse is getting some additional help mouse, but how frustrating that they still don't know what's going on.

I'm sure I've have had a plastic speculum for a smear madame, they're definitely more bearable now than the first one's I had.

MadamedeChevreuse · 23/04/2015 19:39

bads what about teaching english as a foreign language? If youre near a biggish town theres bound to be some language academies nearby. Or you could freelance and give classes at home!
