Yes. Sorry about my rants earlier. I had the bit between my teeth and got a bit carried away!!

Baddz · 19/04/2015 18:25

I agree with you chaise Smile
The eps Adrian wrote were particularly poor in a series characterised by Poor writing
Liked the last 2 eps
Liked emilie but the others were piss poor

ChaiseLounger · 19/04/2015 18:25

I too thought that the Emilie one ( that is the soup one isn't it?) was one of he better ones.

LetUsPrey · 19/04/2015 18:26

Also from Emilie episode I believe

ChaiseLounger · 19/04/2015 18:27

Last 2 were my favourite , then piñon, then Emilie, then episode 1, I can barely remember the middles ones, I think.

FancyFancy · 19/04/2015 18:29

You see this is what happens when previewing a post takes so long. I don't bother & post the wrong pic. It wasn't even a gif FFS.

This is the one I should've posted

...and the casting of Marc warren didn't help

FancyFancy · 19/04/2015 18:36

And if he wants to argue realism then the Cardinal with his political motivations is a better villain than the frankly unhinged Rochefort.

FancyFancy · 19/04/2015 18:40

Mmm, pizza dough is ready

Off to put the toppings on & eat dinner.

See you later for Poldark?

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 19/04/2015 19:06

I've just RW S2 ep1 with my ironing Smile That one was reminiscent of the S1 eps, IMO. I really enjoyed it.

Fave 2 obvs were the finale ones, the one I least liked was Porthos being held captive & his Dad one - thought they were both a bit slow in places. I think I loved all the rest - I'm obviously easily pleased Grin

Cinnamoncookie · 19/04/2015 19:25

Fancy I've got virtuous vegetable curry for dinner and you've made me want pizza Angry

Cinnamoncookie · 19/04/2015 19:27

I don't think is was Marc Warren as such, I think he did his best with the writing and direction he was given. They must have wanted/told him to do it all panto baddie - no director is going to let an actor get away with such outrageous campery if it isn't what they want to see.

ChaiseLounger · 19/04/2015 19:42

Agree. Dont think it was MW's fault.

Flopsy28 · 19/04/2015 19:52

Hola Wenchitas, been out at a family party so not had time for wenching. I'm now back to the SNS with baths, uniform, shoes, PE kit etc

With regard to S2, I'm quite a shallow viewer and really do watch telly as escapism so I loved it all, plausible or not. I was uncomfortable during the implied gang rape scenes bit no more uncomfortable than watching any other adult's programme. I am very easily pleased though, and to be honest, haven't a clue what AH even does/did so I can't pass opinion on him either. My gut feeling is 'Really, American writers getting involved? It'll be shite'. But that's just my opinion..

madame, I hope I'm not too late with the primary question...Formative assessment is assessments done each lesson/day where the teacher tracks the pupils' progress and alters planning accordingly. Summation assessment is about finding out how much as been learnt over a period of time, so tests like SATs and final pieces of work at the end of a topic. I hope that makes sense. FORMative informs next steps. SUMmative gives a final value. That's how I remember it.

Flopsy28 · 19/04/2015 19:53

Ps...not summation, Summative.

BloodyElkFire · 19/04/2015 20:06

I didn't dislike S2, it just didn't match up to my expectations. It was OK. They hit the nail so roundly on the head with S1 I anticipated S2 so eagerly that was was a little disappointed with the lack of humour, and the fraternity/co-dependence that TB mentioned bloody loads a couple of times in the S1 publicity.

But y'know. Tom Burke Athos......still would.

So the dyeing went well except that the stitching apparently wasn't cotton so the vests (?) I dyed are black and the stiching is white. I probably should have chosen th me multi fiber kind. Glad that it worked though. Have some dyeing plans in other colors as well Smile

Evening all. Kinda agree and disagree re S2. Agree about TB and not getting a chance to act. And MW. But if its primarily being made for export and therefore dubbing it doesn't matter a jot what it sounds like, as long as it looks good. I could express a preference about storylines but where would be the challenge in that? The writers must have an idea of where thing are going but it must be boring for them if there's no difficult themes or storylines, I could watch D'Artagnan cleaning boots all day but it wouldn't make for a great TV show. And when did fans ever get to influence scripts or books? I'd have much preferred in Harry Potter that various characters didn't die but that fact that they did made it a greater emotional journey. An artist would probably be horribly offended if I suggested adding a bit of red here or whatever, I think whilst I can say what I liked and didn't like about S2 ultimately no-one cares. I can't decide whether I think S3 will be amazing because of the HW connection or will be just terrible because of the HW connection. But it's our final series with the boys until the spinoffs so I really really hope there's something for everyone in there!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/04/2015 20:48

Evening all. Have spent most of afternoon in the garden doing something. Weeding probably. (Short-term memory failure.)

Had wierdest ever dream this morning during The Lie-In - a designer village shopping mall thing was built on our road and I wasn't pleased about it - most peculiar. But since no musketeers were involved I won't bore you further... Smile

How is everyone?

FancyFancy · 19/04/2015 21:14

Evening, DSs girlfriend left too late for me to catch up before Poldark started and I'd hate miss any shirtless action serious plot developments so there'll be no sensible comments from me for a bit.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 19/04/2015 21:38

Night wenches Smile

BloodyElkFire · 19/04/2015 21:53

It's like the Marie Celeste in here tonight. Anyone would think there was a FAF dark floppy-haired Irishman on the telly or summit....
