Hi

OP posts:
princessmel · 07/07/2006 21:53

Thanks YummyMummy21. She's 11 months old. I think she's georg but I'm her Mummy! Everyone comments on her eyes though, they're very big and an unusual colour.

I haven't tried Alphabet actually but I've tried lots of others! They want pics in the post don't they? I'm waiting for some replys and trying to decide who to see/ go with.
In fact the ones I haven't tried are all postal applications. I need to get my photos sorted out. Will do that tommorrow.

princessmel · 07/07/2006 21:58

Going to bed now. Thanks for all the help and advice. You're all really lucky to be doing so well.

misdee · 08/07/2006 08:37

didnt get the VTECH job, another little boy at CK got picked. ah well. next time maybe

mind you with the influx of appointment cards that have arrived this week and my calender chock full its probably a good thing.

julie4travel · 08/07/2006 09:26

Strawb- Great not long now to be on site then

Any more work from them?

Nothing for us yet

thorntons · 08/07/2006 14:01

Afternooon all, hope you are all having a good weekend . We are having a more relaxed day today been to the park etc as was at a lovely ,but tiring wedding yesterday .
Misdee .Sorry to hear dd didnt get job, better luck next time . I am sure there will be plenty of castings/jobs to come. Castings are always a bit of a lottery anyway, dont you think?
Princessmel.Good luck re choosing an agency for your dd. DD is with with Bruce and Brown and highly recommend them too .Often see kids from UA,Kids London,MOT and Truly Scrumptious at jobs and castings and heard they are very reputable too.
Good luck to anyone who has castings/jobs coming up .

twinmumma · 08/07/2006 21:22

Hi - I've got 17 month old non identical twin girls.
We live in Devon and have been offered Models Direct (who I know from this thread not to touch!) and also been offered bizzykidz.
concerned as it will probably be a lot of travelling, considering where we live, and possibly for nothing.... how many castings do people tend to get? Do you get travel expenses paid? I know there are no guarantees, but just don't want to drag the girls all over the place for no reason. Is it reasonable to go on the books and just take jobs where they are picked based on photo on website?
very new to all this! Would appreciate any advice.
Many thanks

mysonsmummy · 08/07/2006 22:04

we were with BK for over two years and never had a casting and had one job which we were paid less for than was quoted over the phone by them.

tavalana · 08/07/2006 22:12

anyone have their children with different agencies? my ds2 is with bruce and brown and now ds1 decided he also wants to have pictures taken but agency said no to him, not sure if i should apply elsewhere or just wait. any advice?

babyPrincess · 09/07/2006 01:17

Theres loads of diffirent views on bizzykidz , and my dd who is 12 has just been accepted by them , but does anyone know if they does work come in more for the older kids , cause i keep seeing that the kind of early ages get more work then how the little one get , or is it the opposite , can anyone tell me .

lindac · 09/07/2006 11:42

my 11 yr old has been offered bk also.
also rascals and childs play,
ive heard good on rascals not heard much on childsplay but they cahrge a lot !
bizzykidz u r right its mixed but ive not heard anything realy bad about them so im thinking of going with them any reason not to anyone ?

educatingrita · 09/07/2006 11:45

twinmumma,

I know that MOT take on kids from all over the place, some a long way from London. I cant remember where they came from but i remember chatting to one mum on a job who lived miles away and she had said she would take only jobs, no castings and they took her on with that in mind which is very nice !!
If they like your lo's enough they may do same for you, well worth a try

lindac · 09/07/2006 11:54

twinmumma
pctheatrical/twinagency
is excellent for twins, i do chaperoning for them they do loads of bbc work ive worked on holby city, bleak house, eastenders, midsummers murders etc most babys in these things are twins booked from them they are in london but it might be worth looking at their website . they dont charge any up front fees they take something like £35 out your first job. good luck

mimi1uk · 09/07/2006 13:17

i would personally try other agencies, and then if u hve no luck consider the,, there are lots of agencies that do not charge , which i think says a lot about the agencies , or they charge very little

2ManyPimms · 09/07/2006 14:28

Hello new people!

All I can say is to blitz the agencies with photos of your LO. Once your LO is accepted with a few, then ring them for a chat about the biz. Some agencies will want to meet your LO anyway to assess their personality and temperment. Some of the big names charge yearly fees. Others don't but charge a fee for their model book photo (up to 150 quid!). At the end of the day, you have to go with the agency that gives you the best overall impression.

Hope everyone has had a decent weekend - I am just chuffed that the hot, nasty weather is over!

lanismum · 09/07/2006 15:10

iv got the new littlewoods catalogue............will have a look through it to see if i can see any of the mumsnet kids that have done jobs for them recently.

YummyMummy21 · 09/07/2006 15:53

OMG Lanismum im so jelous!! When did it come through? I ordered 2 weeks ago. Is it the Aut/Winter one? They processed that quick didnt they. Hope Lani is well xxx

lanismum · 09/07/2006 16:04

well only noticed i had it this morning, dp must have brought it in yesterday, i have a littlewoods account so maybe thats why i was automatcally sent one? iv had a flick through but i cant see your dd? maybe they are saving her for the leaflets/mini catalogues that come out a bit later in the year?

lanismum · 09/07/2006 16:05

it is the autumn/winter one by the way.

YummyMummy21 · 09/07/2006 16:06

Ohh well never mind, I'll wait till mine comes through to see if I can spot the other LO's from the shoot. Thanks for looking though :0( xxx

lanismum · 09/07/2006 16:10

i cant see any of the kids from dds casting either, and one of them was put in a xmas outfit, so im sure this bout of castings was for a xmas catalogue maybe?

YummyMummy21 · 09/07/2006 16:15

MayBe? Although everyone at DD's casting/shoot was in sports wear. Do they usually add more in to the christmas cat? Ive never brought from littlewoods, so not sure. xxx

lanismum · 09/07/2006 16:18

yeah, i always get a smaller christmas cat through, and they often send leaflets and stuff too.
