Hi,

I've been reading this thread for a while and wondered if you could help.I know this does sound similar to other posts but I'd really like your advice! My dd ,11months,has been accepted at Rascals, Bizzykids and Childsplay. Not heard back from Bruce and Brown. Norrie Carr and Elisabeth Smith said dd's age group is full.
Which one should i go with? Should I chase up Bruce and Brown or will that annoy them? Thanks

julie4travel · 07/07/2006 14:30

princessmel- chase up Bruce and brown they were very quick to say no to my two!

Did you try Urban angels? Mot were quick to say no to mine aswell. My kids are not everyones cup of tea , I am meeting with Truly Scrumptious next week for assesment. Quite a few mums on here are with Alpahabet kids although I don't know much about them.

Don't make a rash decision try all your options first- i have been spending months researching agencies. My son was with Scallywags last year who were very professional yet fees were high and he only had teh one job. I would prob go back to them over some of the otehr agencies as they are well established yet have 1000 kids on their books.

What about Bubblegum- their website is not built yet but they get the work and fees are low. Again they said no to mine yet are a good agency as my friends kids had lots of work with them. their number is on Childmodelling.net

lindac · 07/07/2006 15:55

my dd was with truly scrumptious some years agpo and did loads of work for bhs and m&s she got to the age she didnt want to do it so i stopped
now she is 11 she wants to do it again and been offered bizzykidz, childsplay and i just recived a yes from rascals do you know how much rascals charge anyone ???
but stay away from models direct they have a bad reputation
ive had the best feed back on bizzykidz so far
anybody know anything about rascals ? brucebrown norrie carr never replyd to me either good luck

strawberrymilkshake · 07/07/2006 15:59

Hi Julie>> I phoned carole up to ask her about photos. She said hopefully they will be on next week sometime there working really hard to get site finished.

tavalana · 07/07/2006 17:01

rascals charge a lot of money i think 115 for contract and 120 for pictures

hairymclary · 07/07/2006 17:15

hi, i'm new here, just found this site through google searching for child modelling stuff.
my little boy has just been offered an interview with cheeky kids next tuesday.

does anyone know if they're good? I know they only charge £30 but is it worth them being sole agent?

mimi1uk · 07/07/2006 19:08

hi there i have never heard anything negative about ck and the owner is so friendly and helpfull, which is always a good thing

misdee · 07/07/2006 19:10

my serena is with CK. pauline is lovely. look at girl toddlers to see my dd.

princessmel · 07/07/2006 19:31

Hi, thanks everyone.

Julie4travel, I have tried U Angels but they said she's too similar to children on their books already. She changes/grows all the time tho so I will send pics in again.

MOT junior said no aswell. We've got an interview with Rascals on tue but my dh is not keen because of the high fees. I have read on here that they do get work though so I'm not sure.

I will chase up B and B tommorow. I'll prob send some pics to Kids London aswell but I've heard that they are difficult to get into.

We also applied at Elliott Brown and Inspired Kids and haven't had any response. But since then I read that Inspired Kids is a con. Its really worrying not knowing what to do and who to trust isn't it?

I will try Bubblegum, thanks. I'm very thorough!

princessmel · 07/07/2006 19:33

Oh yeah, how do I apply with Bubblegum if there's no website?

cyan · 07/07/2006 19:37

i would suggest b and b, ua, mot, kids london as these seem to get good comments. my little one was accepted by ua and kids and it was a tough choice to choose between the 2, what sealed us going with ua was the fact that on the day they accepted us he was offered a casting.

perfumelady> had a look in supernanny mag saw ur dd in there she looks lovely. how are you?

right off to london now best get going take care all have a nice weekend x

princessmel · 07/07/2006 19:41

Thanks cyan, I would love any one of them, I'm not fussy! It must have been a tough choice but nice to be in that position I suppose! Its my birthday on Monday so I'm shopping and having lunch with lots of my girlfriends tommorow, so it should be nice.

YummyMummy21 · 07/07/2006 20:38

Hi everyone, I have been off-line for a few days. Nothing happened on the modelling front at our end. Alysias pics are now updated on the UA website so hopefully some more work will come our way soon :0)

Cyan> Did you get my email?

Princessmel> I would definatly chase up B&B, as when we were at out last job, I noticed that there were a few kids from there that had been booked.
UA books our now closed until Nov, so it depends whether you can wait until then, As I would recommend them. Also you apply to bubblegum via post, their details are on the Childmodelling.net website

Mimi> I still havnt seen the ad yet, I will start watching chnl.5 more
Ohh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY :0) xxx

Take Care everyone
And Good Luck to everyone with the modelling
xxxx

Re the scar reduction thingies - another thing I have heard of is Bio Oil - the chemist recommended it to me - it's supposed to be good for scars and stretch marks. I'm using it on dd to hopefully get rid of the remaining chickenpox blemishes, they are going but of course I don't know if they would have gone anyway - guess I'm just being paranoid model's mum and erring on the side of caution

tavalana · 07/07/2006 21:11

bubblegum's e-mails is [email protected]

tavalana · 07/07/2006 21:25

can anyone tell me how to apply at cheeky kids? i cant open their website.

YummyMummy21 · 07/07/2006 21:37

tavalana> Ive just had a nose on the site and its working now. There is a link on there on how to apply and an applicaton form which you download. hth

princessmel · 07/07/2006 21:40

Thanks for email address tavalana.

I used Bio oil during my last pregnancy in the hope that I wouldn't get any new stretch marks, but I still got some more. But without it they may have been worse, you never know.

Never mind about UA. I'll be patient. I may get something in the meantime. Dd is so cute somebody must want her!

YummyMummy21 · 07/07/2006 21:47

princessmel> Im sure that someone will snap her up in NO time. How old is she?
I think that most agencies do intake at the start and end of the year, and maybe thats why you are having a few probs. Have you applied to AlthabetKids? I know that at DD's littlewoods casting there were 2 children from AK as I looked on the list when we were at the shoot (he,he im so naughty) there were also children from B&B and MOT.
