Allsorts, I gave them a ring afterwards to find out why they had kept her details and they said just in case a client wanted her look, she said they keep details for a least a couple of years. I expalined that I had not joined them and didn't pay their fees but she said that they didn't like to destroy peoples personal photos - I gave her my full permission to do so and she said she had already deleted them.
I feel annoyed with myself also for not asking what the casting was for as I could have got her agency to chase it up!!

Glad you like the assembly - I feel emotion that DD will be going from reception to year1, who know what it will be like when she moves to big school!

tavalana · 20/07/2006 17:09

bubblegum doesn't charge, they take a small fee from the first job, they accepted my eldest yesterday

housemum · 20/07/2006 18:45

Hello & good evening. My brain is almost back in the land of the living...

Perfumelady - I can't believe how you worked nights! I did a year of evenings (7-11) at Sainsburys and even that threw my body clock out! I have a lot of admiration for all those that can do it - respect to shift workers of all kinds.

And I'm in Basingstoke, hence why the photoshoot was so good, and why I was shopping in Winchester (I was only supposed to be going to get a jacket back from being repaired, but car broke down on the way so I had a couple of hours to kill while the gargae sorted it. Conversation to DH that evening - good news=free parking when I went out, bad news=cost £50 worth of spark plugs!)

lanismum · 20/07/2006 19:18

ooohhh nights, evil things!
i did 7 months of 12 hour night shifts, 4 a week on a kids neurology ward, iv never felt so tired in my life!
yummy and mrratty, well done to dds for the JL job!

ellesmum · 20/07/2006 20:49

did any of u with kids london have to take your child for an interview? when i asked them if they wanted to meet my daughter they said they only see kids that there not sure about their personality. my daughters 2, i thought this was a bit strange as every other agency that accepted her wanted to meet her.

mimi1uk · 20/07/2006 21:01

hi there my ds has been with kids for three months and done some great jobs, they did not see him, he has done the burberry world wide campaign, also been in a mag in japan for burberry, done a tv advert for classical baby etc, they have been great!!!!!!!!!! VERY NICE BUNCH as well

mimi1uk · 20/07/2006 21:01

who else has she been accepted by elliemum x

ellesmum · 20/07/2006 21:22

she was accepted by bubblegum, rascals, bizzykids and kids london im still waiting to hear back for bruce and brown, norrie carr and truly scrumptious. but ive heard such great things about kids london and how picky they are with choosing kids so i snapped at the chance to go with them. i was turned down by mot junior and alphabet kids.

mimi1uk · 20/07/2006 21:27

all i can say is very positive things im know a baby with them who has about three jobs a week, but then others who get odd jobs, everymum i have meet has never had a bad word to say about them, obvously each child is different, my son has not had tons of work but what he has got has been great especially seeing him on telly and burberry,, i was so so proud! anything else u want to ask email me [email protected] where abouts u from x

cyan · 20/07/2006 21:27

id go with KL they are just as good as B and B, but prob best to wait to hear b and bs decision anyhow. id certianly pick KL over the other agencies you have listed. at the end of the day its your choice tho, have u also tried Urban angels? but then again i think they may not be opening their books again until later on in the year, best of luck with your decision

ellesmum · 20/07/2006 21:39

thanks mimi1uk i will email you if i have any questions. i am going to go with kids london as they are just as good as bruce and brown, infact ive heard more on kl than bruce and brown. bruce and brown and kids are both free to join and have the same amount of children on their books so the way im thinking is i cant realy loose. if bruce and brown do say yes i would have chosen kids london over them any way because of the good things ive heard although i know bruce and brown are one of the best also. i live in putney by the way where do u live?

julie4travel · 20/07/2006 21:41

evening all

Ellesmum-Welcome to this thred. my friend is with Bubblegum and likes them and has no complaints. Her baby did a next shoot the other day. It will be better when they have their website up and running though.

Went to casting today. Literally the place we had to go to was like an alleyway and that was the court we had to go to. It wasn't in London A-Z or streetmap. In the end me and my ds got a ricshaw bike hoping that he would find the exact place. He took us to the main road where it was off and we just had to keep walking round asking in shoe shops and everything till we found it. My son loved the rickshaw- felt bad for the man in the heat though! My son was in and out in about 2 mins so I doubt it will be positive yet you never know!

mrratty · 20/07/2006 21:47

Rickshaw ride sounds fun!
If you have a school age child do you need to get permission from the scholl if the hte is out of term time in order to get a license?

mrratty · 20/07/2006 21:47

my spelling is awful!!!!!!!!!!!!

julie4travel · 20/07/2006 21:55

mratty- unfortuately so! Last year he needed a licence for 1 job. It was a bit of a panic to get it i paid £20 for the drs note the school was fine signing the form as he hadn't had a single day off. We only had about a week to get the licence etc. I was actually being prepared today thought as we were waiting at the train station to get his passport photos done ready for when he needs a licence. Well after trying to get the seat to his height suddenly the first picture was took with his looking one way and my ugly mug in teh centre of it. Second one he put his head down. Third looked ok yet a bit low. Then last one he was pulling a face I opened the curtains only to see what he was doing. Honestly the photos are hillarious. I sort of said to him i think we better do them again another day.

My ds has changed school and they will be harder work on the licence as any time of school with them is classed as unauthorised absence! They rarely let people have time out for holidays. think you need to be in with teh head mistress to get it signed off so better start buttering her up incase i need it in future!!!!

mimi1uk · 20/07/2006 21:58

im in essex x well i hope u have made the right decision, im sure u have let us know how u get on within a day of receiveing my acceptance letter i had a casting x

julie4travel · 20/07/2006 22:00
