Little Accorns are a rip off from my experience I have heard from alot of people they take your money and never give you any work in other words take your money and run!
I went to an appointment with my son a few months ago and paid £20 that day there were about 20 people there and they offered us all a place.
I looked in to baby modelling and was told if these agencies are decent and trust worthy they will never ask for any money !!!
I never toke Little Accorns up on there offer just like models direct there as bad !!! all I can say is be careful never pay a registering fee.

sam65 · 16/09/2003 21:36

thanks kimsy. Now i dont know what to do any help anyone. Kimsy who did you go with in the end?

emmagee · 18/09/2003 19:28

I think I went to Little Acorns years ago too, total rip off. You should never have to part with money to have someone represent you or your child. We went with Kids London who are great, but now we are not living so close to Shoreditch (where 80% of our castings were!) we've stopped.

Hi
I'm new to site so please excuse any mistakes

I was wondering if anyone could give my info on Truly Scrumptious Child Model Agency (good or bad)? My 5 year old son was recently in a model comp (model search 2004) although he got into the finals he didn't win. We have since been contacted by Truly S. and are going to see then this wednesday so was wondering if they were any good or best avoided?
Any advice would be much appriciated
Thanks

willow2 · 23/08/2004 11:43

They are a very well established agency - must have been going at least 20 years or so. Don't know anything about their terms of employment - but they are a proper agency.

BeaniesMum · 24/08/2004 22:40

Hi Willow2
Thank you ever so much for replying, I had a good feeling that they were ok but its so good to hear (or read) someone else saying so, thank you.

nutcracker · 24/08/2004 22:54

Does anyone know of any modelling agencies in Brum at all ???

MadameButterfly · 24/08/2004 22:55

I would also like to know as my DD is so photogenic and a little poser when the camera comes out.

BeaniesMum · 25/08/2004 22:27

Hello
Would anyone be willing to tell me how much in fees they pay for their son/daughter to be on a modelling agencies book for a year. Truly scrumptious have asked for £170 for the year and £80 payable to the guy who will be taking all the kids photos for the yearly book. Is this the norm?
Sorry to keep asking questions, new to all this.

willow2 · 30/08/2004 20:47

Think this is about the norm for model books - but have to say I always preferred booking kids from agencies who just sent me up to date snapshots. Kids change so much in a month, let alone a year - a book can quickly become out of date.

dawnt4 · 14/09/2004 18:48

Does anyone know anything about the child modelling agencies "Bizzykidz" and "Tuesdayschild" agency as my son has been accepted with both.
Thanks

Mirage · 14/09/2004 21:27

Beaniesmum,we paid a £20 admin fee which covers dd for the 1st 3 years. They didn't ask for professional photos, just 2 snapshots. We have to send in updated photos & measurements every 3 months.

BeaniesMum · 23/09/2004 23:21

Hi Mirage
May I ask what agency you are with? We have decided to go with Truly Scrumptious as they have been honest about who uses them etc (I had abit of a phone around!) and the photographer Daniel Pangbourne took all the Johnsons ads so thought it was worth ago although the fee is alittle steep.

Mirage · 24/09/2004 12:44

DD is with Pat Keeling in Leicester. They have been very good so far.

SADIELONDON · 09/10/2004 00:53

In answer to Dawnt4, Bizzykidz specialise more in TV work if that is of any help to you. They charge a one off payment until your child is 17 years old and they do get work for their kids. They supply all the babies on the Dick and Dom in Da Bungalow show on CBBC, and my friends baby has just done the latest Pampers campaign through them (which was photographic though).

TATA · 22/10/2004 21:40

anyone out there got some advise on modelling agencies. My daughter has been accepted for 3 Little Acorns, BizzyKidz and Elizabeth Smith, now they all require money for one thing or another, this seems the norm any advice who to go with?

Twiglett · 22/10/2004 21:50

NONE OF THEM

a reputable agency DOES NOT ASK FOR MONEY UP FRONT

zephyrcat · 22/10/2004 22:05

I have seen Elizabeth Smith recommended several times in baby mags. I joined up with Little Acorns with DD - paid a whole heap of money, got some really crap photos and never heard from them again!!!

SADIELONDON · 22/10/2004 23:16

I am afraid that Elisabeth Smith are the founder members of the Association of Model Agencies and they would be very pleased to hear you saying they are not reputable by charging. I am afraid they all charge something and if you want your child to be a part of a company that can get your child into the industry in one way or another, then if they charge.....you must pay! It doesn't mean they are a rip off, because if that were the case then they are all rip off's surely.
