Hiya

My little girl has been signed up with Bizzykidz since April this year. It was slow to start with for some reason, but since being with them she has had about 8 photographic jobs and appeared in a tv commercial. They are good and very friendly. They said they specialised in tv work, but to be honest, although we have had quite a lot of auditions for tv jobs, most of the actual work we have got has been photographic.

Hope that helps?
X

My son has done photographic work with Bizzykidz but most of the time it is auditions for tv work. I suppose it is what the child is better suited to really, or if your child meets the description of the child they are looking for at that particular time.

Hi

My daughter has been signed up with Bizzykidz since October this year but hasn't been for any auditions yet. I am still waiting for my GP to write a letter saying she is in good health, but that was 2 months ago, I'll have to chase up again. Is it correct that you have to pay extra if you want your child to appear in the model book for photographic work and if so how much did you pay?

KARENP77 · 31/12/2004 04:24

You should get hold of your doctors letter cos without that the agency can't get a licence and no child can work without one apparantly, it's the law. Things should move after that. I don't suppose its worth their while even putting a child forward for anything without that, because what would happen if they were chosen and then can't do it cos they haven't got a licence. It makes sense really that you haven't had a call yet. I have just gone through all my paperwork again and checked for you about the model book. It doesn't cost at all to go into it, but you must give the agency professional photographs to go in it. You can have them done wherever you like or they can arrange for a studio to do them for you at 'half the normal rate for a black and white sitting'. If you aren't sure just ring bizzykidz, or email them (just incase I have got something wrong).

Thanks for message.
Yesterday I phoned my GP and the receptionist said the letter had been waiting for me to collect! Anyway I collected it and had to pay them £5. I have now sent all my paperwork to them and have also e-mailed them with up-to-date measurements and will shortly e-mail more recent photos. They re-open on 5th Jan so will give them a ring and ask them when the next photographic sitting will be.

JBMUM · 31/12/2004 17:46

I'm having some new ones done soon for my little one, so maybe I will see you there!

Hi
Just received an e-mail back from Bizzykidz saying I have missed the shoot for my daughter's entry in the model book, but I can submit my own pictures to them with a fee of £15. They will then make them the same as the studio shots and include them in the CD rom version of the book that is updated every 3 months. Photos have to have a white background and just a head shot so I might try and take a couple of photos and send them in.

ladybuggunn · 03/01/2005 14:14

Hi all, I am now a bit concerned, my 2 daughters have been taken on by Bizzykidz, however I have seen no paperwork mentioning GP's letter of health! Am i missing something, was it sent in the original pack? they (bizzykidz) have never mentioned it to me!

Gumbee · 03/01/2005 22:12

Hi
When I returned all my documents to Bizzykidz they then sent me an e-mail regarding the licence. They asked for copy of birth certificate, local education authority and local council, 2 passport photos and letter from GP. I would give them a ring - their office is closed until Wednesday or you could e-mail them.

JBMUM · 04/01/2005 15:26

If you haven't got your letter just email them and ask for one. They are pretty good at responding and even though their phones aren't on until the 5th they do still answer their emails cos I sent new height for mine to them and tbey sent a response back to me right away.

ladybuggunn · 06/01/2005 20:17

thanks, i phoned them with new height details and mentioned the licence letter, an email was sent immediately! good Luck !

JBMUM · 10/01/2005 23:07

They are a bit quicker than me at replying then! (Sorry, been working and being mum - no time for internet!)

TashaTait · 11/01/2005 20:35

Can anyone give me details for the Urban Angels Model Agency?

Many thanks

JBMUM · 16/01/2005 00:25

Never heard of them, sorry

KELLYBELLIE · 17/01/2005 00:09

I have just done a search on the internet and the only company I could find under Urban Angels is a recruitment company for nannies etc and not any model agency. If they are an agency then they aren't listed anywhere. They aren't in contacts book either cos my sister is an actress and has a copy and all legitimate agencies are listed. They have no listing at all, so check out a bit more before approaching them.

Hello everyone, my 15month old daughter has just been registered with Models Direct before christmas. I've read 1 post about them and it wasn't a good one! I also haven't been asked for my child to have a medical so i will be contacting them about this. Has anyone else heard anything about this company?

Frizbe · 18/01/2005 17:30

have you read the whole thread sammy, as I'm sure theres something about them further down here, not good apparently.

meysey · 18/01/2005 23:01

the thing to bear in mind is that most baby modelling is bread and butter catalogue stuff and neither glamorous or well-paid

also it's probably only worth doing if you live close to central london or else too much time and money would get eaten up going to castings

it's fine if you want a bit of interest, maybe a few nice pics, but don't bank on a completely new life!

we may retire our baby model by the time he has done a year of it...

I am sure it is worth checking out Watchdog over Models Direct and I am in no way defending them.

But even reputable agencies such as Elizabeth Smith do charge. There have been many threads on this. I turned down lots of appointments with agencies because they charged, and then realised it was common practice. Obviously go with one that doesn't ask for money, if you can, but most do. Probably because they can get away with it due to hordes of eager mums!

JBMUM · 22/01/2005 19:44

The reality is, if you want to be with a good agency and they charge then so be it. If I had built up a big agency with loads of work, then business is business and perhaps I would expect people to pay something to be a part of that little empire and be offered to their list of clients?

I have just applied for my child to join Bizzykidz agency. She was with another for 5 months with only 1 casting. They took on many children and nobody else heard a thing. As my daughter has now got a taste of it I do not know really what to do.Looking at all your comments Bizzykidz do seem a good agency. Is there much work for these children. Can anyone give me some advice.

JBMUM · 04/02/2005 18:51

Hi lockets... All child agencies work like this. Adult agencies and employment agencies are not allowed to charge to join, but child ones are. Some agencies charge up to £400 a year I've heard, but they are reputable and get work. It is so confusing isn't it?
