I'm in the Midlands and I'm just being nosey as to who else lives in the centre of good ole Blighty - I know there are a few others (suew, lill & ailsa) but anyone else?

I think that it is now back to Sat 21st evening at The Little Owl.

Gillw - Will you be going by train? If so, will it be from either Warwick or Leamington?

OP posts:
GillW · 28/08/2002 16:20

Chanelno5 - I'll probably be driving as there aren't any direct trains from Warwick to Birmingham International, and the last direct one back to Leamington is 9.16 which is a bit too early. I don't really fancy hanging around on Coventry station late at night waiting for a connection (and not drinking doesn't really bother me anyway).

Are you in the Leamington/Warwick area? I could probably give you a lift if you were thinking of catching a train from there.

sylvev · 02/09/2002 20:47

Are we still on for 21st? What time suits everyone?

bayleaf · 03/09/2002 10:09

I'm game - and would prefer a reasonably early start ( 7.30?) as I fall asleep by about half past nine these days - sad I know but dd has taken to waking at 5.30 the last week or so!

GillW · 03/09/2002 10:27

7.30-ish is good here too.

sylvev · 03/09/2002 17:53

me too. Anyone else?

bayleaf · 03/09/2002 21:15

Do you think we should ask Mumsnet to forward an e mail to all of the people who have expressed an interest in meeting on this thread in the past but who haven't featured in recent discussions so probably don't know about it??

Ailsa · 03/09/2002 21:42

ok for me too

bayleaf · 14/09/2002 19:31

Well are we still up for it? If so I think we shuld probably book it - table for 5 for 7.30 sat 21st at little owl???
Me, Gillw, Sylvev, ailsa, chanelno5???
AND ANYONE ELSE WHO WANTS TO COME PLEASE INDICATE SOON!

Ailsa · 15/09/2002 18:27

I'm still up for it.

sylvev · 16/09/2002 18:52

me too. I'll e-mail later, Ailsa, thanks for your message.

bayleaf · 16/09/2002 20:23

Right I'm going to be rash and try and book a table - we don't want to find we 're all coming and it's booked solid!

bayleaf · 17/09/2002 10:05

I've rung and there's no need to book - and the Holiday Inn nearby isn't busy that weekend - so we'll be fine

GillW · 17/09/2002 11:13

Probably a silly question - but how are we going to find each other if none of us know each other? A booked table would have been so-o-o much easier really from that point of view. Conjures up images of 50's spy movies where the contact will be wearing a red carnation buttonhole and carrying the Financial Times here, methinks!

Chanelno5 - whereabouts in Warwickshire are you? If you're in the Warwick/Leamington/Kenilworth area and don't want to drive I could probably give you a lift.

sylvev · 17/09/2002 12:17

I'm afraid I can't come! I've just got back from docs. I have shingles. It is rather painful and i feel v. tired. (Typically, I thought I'd pulled a muscle and was just stressed out)! So sorry to pull out at this late time, but I hope you all have a good time and hope to see you at another meet-up.

bayleaf · 17/09/2002 12:41

Hmm - not a silly question at all GillW - Tho being the Mumsnet version of said movie maybe wearing a sick stained t shirt with a muslin in one hand and a broken bit of Bob the Builder in the other???
!

chanelno5 · 18/09/2002 19:45

Sorry I haven't been around for a while and so so sorry to do this at such short notice, but I won't be able to make it on Saturday. Dh is now away over the w/e (but that's another story!) and none of my trusted baby sitters are free - I'm gutted!!!! I'll be thinking of you all and am sure you'll have a really great time.

GillW - Thanks so much for the offer of a lift. I'm in Leamington, are you nearby? If so, fancy meeting for a coffee sometime?

OP posts:
bayleaf · 18/09/2002 21:33

Ailsa and GillW - we seem to be down to 3 - is it still worth it or should we re-convene?? Seems a shame in one way aftr all this negotiation - but 3 isn't very many!!!

GillW · 18/09/2002 22:00

I'm open to either this weekend or most other dates from now on, so will go along with whatever anyone else decides.

Chanelno5 - I'm (just about) in Leamington too - do you know the Old Milverton area? Where abouts are you? Coffee in town doesn't happen often as I'm working during the week and usually too busy weekends, but it could probably be arranged sometime.

Ailsa · 19/09/2002 14:53

I think we should make it another time, as you say 3's not many. What about, 3 weeks time, same time, same place.

GillW · 19/09/2002 15:50

12th October? Should be ok - but it might be a bit busier then as there are a couple of big exhibitions on at the NEC that weekend (Ski Show being one of them) so there might be a lot of the exhibitors staying at the hotel.

bayleaf · 19/09/2002 18:57

I can't do 12th of Oct - dh away on 'boys' weekend.

ames · 19/09/2002 22:03

I'd still like to come if your re-arranging for another date 'cos I'm still feeling really lousy with this pregnancy.

GillW · 04/01/2003 12:04

Now Christmas is out of the way shall we get these plans restarted? I could do with an excuse for an evening out!

bayleaf · 04/01/2003 12:09

I'm still game - altho it would need to be Feb rather than Jan for me.
