OP posts:

mimi-if you think £94 is a lot, my sister paid over £300 to ES for website, model book, shots etc and has had nothing but trouble, which is why they are being investigated at the moment... I must admit ive neaver heard of BMA, my advice is to contact the DTI and ask them about bizzykidz, BMA, Scallywags etc and see what they say... thats what i did for my sis when she was having problems and they told me they were looking into them.

mimi1uk · 30/03/2006 13:12

i am new here too just some people have obviously been let down by bk, whats up with ES???

lanismum · 30/03/2006 13:13

mumjane, im pretty sure cyans ds was with es, im not sure if she was one of the ones who replied to you, but she might be on at some point and may be able to advise you.

mimi1uk · 30/03/2006 13:13

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE ALBA WEBSITE IS ILL LOOK ON THERE

lanismum · 30/03/2006 13:14

mimi, ssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Grin

mumjane · 30/03/2006 13:14

yackertyyack - do Kids london charge diffewrent fees for different things, as when my sis was reasearching other agencies, we both called round loads (believe me!!!!!!!, loads!!) and they told me something like £120 for the year for their book?? maybe they have different types of representationa and so fees vary??! i think thats the problem, when i was calling around, loads of agencies wee saying to me oh yeah, it is only £30/£50/£20 to join us and then when i asked about the book and things that is extra each year, so its something like £200-300 all together.... ES charged us for interview, then website, then photos and then book, and u feel obliged to pay it all!!! bad mistake!

yackertyyack · 30/03/2006 13:15

Lanismum......we are off on holiday in 4 weeks and I am hoping he waits until after that to start walking!!!! Cruel aren't I!??! I am sure your fish love it...Our rabbit loves it when the little fella tries to gouge his eyes out and pull his tale off!!!!

MIMI - you are free to say what you want! I personally don't have an opinion on BK and wish you luck with them x

mimi1uk · 30/03/2006 13:17

sorry !!!!!!!!!!!!!

strawberrymilkshake · 30/03/2006 13:18

Hi everyone

I have just signed up with bk so far they seem very helpful, the unhelpful people are my doctors surgery, kicking up about writing letters, they reckon they dont do them.

lanismum · 30/03/2006 13:18

god no you not cruel, keep the little fella strapped in his pram [grin, imagine if he learns to walk before you go, he will be wanting to run about on the plane/train whatever. poor rabbits, my mums dogs hate it when shes round my mums, she pulls their fur and tries to pick them up by their heads!

mumjane · 30/03/2006 13:19

mimi-i think all agencies have let people down in the past, after all, no agency can make every single parent happy, as we can see!!!!!!! lots of people love Elisabeth smith, i dont!!! lots of people hate, bk, but i cant comment!

the thing is that if ur getting a crap service, u wanna shout about it, like when a company does soemthing wrong u write a complaint letter, but when ur pleased with a company and they are great, who actually goes round telling people or writes letters to the manager to say thanks, ur great etc???! nobody, coz it is what we expect!!! i have written enough complaint letters in my time to Bt for instance, but when im getting a good service and it is cheap, i dont exactly write a letter saying thanks for the great service... am i blabbering on??? know what i mean though???!

mimi1uk · 30/03/2006 13:19

my doctor was great and it was free, they do ,y head in some doctors, ....

mumjane · 30/03/2006 13:20

my GP is an arsehole!!!!!!!!!!!

lanismum · 30/03/2006 13:21

strawberrymilkshake-the dr shouldnt have to write a letter, didnt bk send you a form, it should only need a stamp and a signature? unless its changed? i would have thought and gp will do it as they can basically charge whatever they want.

mumjane · 30/03/2006 13:21

strawberrymilkshake - good luck!!!!!!!!

mimi1uk · 30/03/2006 13:22

mumsjane- yeah know what u mean, we r all so proud of our kidz we like to talk about them lol,,, well i do,, whats up with ES, when did u join them,,,, have u just not heard after paying all the money, they are quite selective etc, and reputable but as we all know what works for one does not work for another

yackertyyack · 30/03/2006 13:22

mumjane >>> Under 3's don't go in the book so only know about the admin fee we were charged. BUT £120 does sound about right for the model book - again think some of that comes out of earnings but NOT SURE! Think that is about average as you are paying for the photographer/studio etc although you DON'T have to be included in it if you don't want too.
Personally I don't see £100 as excessive for decent photos once a year as I seem to have paid out a fortune in the past for crappy 'portrait place' ones!! Must have been new baby hormones!!! Grin

lanismum · 30/03/2006 13:22

my gp was very good and signed my dds letter with no probs, he didnt charge either, just said he wanted a cut of her earnings Smile

LOOPYLOU74 · 30/03/2006 13:23

Mumjane..Don't suppose you have the number for the DTI handy do you? Might try that

mimi1uk · 30/03/2006 13:23

yeah it is just a form and they stamp and sign it my doctor done my yesterday sent it today they email u the form, if u have not got it ill email it to you

mimi1uk · 30/03/2006 13:24

lanismum- that was really nice, i felt like the receptionist looked down her nose at me ..

mimi1uk · 30/03/2006 13:24

mumjane · 30/03/2006 13:26

mumjane · 30/03/2006 13:27

LOOPYLOU74 · 30/03/2006 13:27
