biting sorry someone is slagging me off, etc, and i do not really appreciate it,

mimi1uk · 30/03/2006 12:40

so how long does it take u all to get to castings based in london, i live in essex,, and it takes an hour to get to fenchurch street,,, i really struggled yesterday with the buggy and the escalators in the underground as there was no lifts, it was such hard work im still tired today,, i think ill have to get a baby carrier if we go again,

modelmum · 30/03/2006 12:40

it is not me who is bitter and twisted, I am generally commenting on BK taking a lot of peoples money and never getting them work, we are happy for you to prove us wrong with your LOs casting. Given the general consensus about BK its slightly odd that you got acasting straight away, obviously its upto the casting director to choose a child, your child is probably gorgeous - they all are, all ours are Smile utits not fair on the people who have paid so much never to hear again.

has anyone heard of www.bmamodels.com, they charge £35 for up to 26 pictures on their website, website is there only representation i think, if anyone can have a look and tell me what they think, thanks

izzyrubi · 30/03/2006 12:43

Mimi >> It is tough, i takes me about 40 minutes to Waterloo on the train and then we normally go on the underground or get a cab if it's really close, I normally have someone coming with me and we bought a small pushchair to make things easier... I'm 31 weeks pregnant which doesn't help... the best is to ask people to help you with pram, there's always someone nice!

mimi1uk · 30/03/2006 12:46

i understand that and its not fair if they have taken kids on and not represented them i probably wont hear anything from them now, its obviosly trial and error, i guess i was just lucky and i do not think my son is any more gorgeous than any other as far as modelling goes because its not about how gorgeous they are its whether the face fits, i do not want to bitch on here, i just come here to chat andf get advice, if im not welcome then i wont post here but i am not not going to mention bk, through fear od abuse everytime..

lanismum · 30/03/2006 12:47

hello all, bizzykidz, aaaahahhhhhgggggggggggggggggg Grin
izzy, sorry to hear your dd was ill, mines been ill too, poor little thing has lost weight, her cheeks are not as chubby now!
as for relatives comparing kids, my dps mum came over yesterday and did exactly that, shes a liar too, why is there such a competition over when babies walk? dd took her 1st steps at 10 months, which i thought was quite quick, but she sat there and told me her other grandchild walked at just 7 months, which seeing as he was 6 weeks prem must be a new world record!!! i had to use all my willpower not to throw her over the balconey Grin
and while lani may be a very good walker and climber Angry, she only has 4 teeth, and 1 just coming through, and cant really say many words, though im pretty sure she says nan and dog...................and ta!

lanismum · 30/03/2006 12:47

oh and im from sunny ole east london Smile

mimi1uk · 30/03/2006 12:48

how funny walking that early and being premie, ah its so funny just shows how much we love our kidz and think so much of them,,

LOOPYLOU74 · 30/03/2006 12:50

Hello everyone
I was on last night asking about Scallywags, my son is 18 months and has just been accepted, my concern is that it's going to cost a total of £275 to set up with them, (they do give you a disk with the photos on) I read earlier that they are quite big, is this a problem for getting much work? Does anyone have any experience with them. It's the only one he's been applied for, well my friend applied him for as I took to long about it.
Any help would be appreciated

lanismum · 30/03/2006 12:50

mimi, dont feel you have to leave, or not talk about bk, i for 1 dont care if anyone praises them or slags them off, just chat away Smile

LOOPYLOU74 · 30/03/2006 12:54

Another question, sorry! I live in folkestone and scallywags dont give any traveling expences for London,( probably the same everywhere) so you don't walk away with much. Not that the money is the main driving force. Are any other agents different or does anyone know of any reputable ones in kent?

lanismum · 30/03/2006 12:55

loopy, from what i know (which isnt a lot!!) they do get work for their kids and are reputable, but that is a lot of money, why dont you apply to urban angels or bruce and brown/mot/kids london and see if you get a yes from them, as i think they might have lower start up costs, well urban angels def does, and others will prob be able to tell you about the others costs.

LOOPYLOU74 · 30/03/2006 12:59

Thanks lanismum.

I thought that seemed like a lot of money too.

mimi1uk · 30/03/2006 13:00

i just called that bma model .com and spoke to him and he was going mad at me for paying 94 to bk he said that they charge £35 for life as thats what it costs them, he said he gets all the same castings as bk, etc, he even told me where i went with bk yesterday so he was not lieing,, only £35 and they can have tons of pics on their website

mimi1uk · 30/03/2006 13:01

my dp is from there, east london,...

mimi1uk · 30/03/2006 13:03

my son was accepted by scallywags but i just would not part with that sort of money, its differernt if they take it out of his earnings but they want it up front

yackertyyack · 30/03/2006 13:05

I think its just a natural thing of being protective when someone says something you don't like!!! My little man may not crawl/walk and only have 2 teeth but he is such a happy and content baby I don't care!! Why is it all MIL are evil!!!????? Grin
Mimi - we are in essex but it only takes us 30mins into london - If you have a pushchair it is best to try and get the jubilee line as most of the stations there have lifts.

LOOPYLOU74 · 30/03/2006 13:05

I know they,ve given me 10 days to return a form as acceptance. Not sure if I should try some others or not, as I havent so far.

mumjane · 30/03/2006 13:08

Hi there!

I come on here the other day to ask about elisabeth Smith and got a few replies but nothing much, glad i didnt ask about bizzykidz, it seems everyone who does is abused!!!!!!!!!!!!
i havent really heard much about them to be honest, although i dont really go by the most popular and the ones that everyone on here say are great, as we are having terrible trouble with ES at the moment, but everyone says they are great! the DTI obviously dont think so!

mimi- if u wanna chat, ill talk to you, and wont tell u what u can or cant mention, pounce on u and tell u to stop advertising!!! when i asked the other day if anyone had had any feedback on ES, somebody said they were really good, but then nobody said she (or he!) was rubbing peoples noses in it and advertising, i dont get it????!! maybe as im new here ive missed the plot???!!!!

yackertyyack · 30/03/2006 13:10

Loopylou.....Kids london charge £25 which is taken from the first job. Give them a try - although I think alot of the agencies like you to live within the M25 for travelling reasons. We were on a job recently and there were kids there from Scallywags so they do get work.

lanismum · 30/03/2006 13:10

yackerty, i actually wished lani didnt walk just yet, shes a bloody nightmare, nothing is safe, our poor fish mush think they live in a washing machine Grin
