hi everyone, dd isn't well at all, we're definitely not going to south africa tomorrow which is a bit sad :( but I rather have her fully recovered before flying... doctor gave her antibiotics and she should be better in a few days...
Yackerty >> where are you? wanna know about the shooting!!

Misdee>> Glad it went alright and hoping to see her photos on their website, they should go up tomorrow!

misdee · 01/03/2006 21:27

tomorrow??!!

that'll be quick.

2ManyPimms · 02/03/2006 09:30

Izzi - Sorry about your DD - antib's should have her back on her wee feet quickly. Shame about SA - I was hoping you'd write and tell us how warm it is!!!!!

Misdee - When the photos are up, let us know so we can have a peek!!!!

Still waiting for B&B to decide on a snap of DS for their model book. I just wish I could access their website as I can other agencies.... :(

Bundle up warm, ladies, this is supposed to be the coldest day on record - ever!!!! (Where is the freezing my butt off smiley?!)

OP posts:

Just posted this on "part one" without realising there was a part two!:

Morning all :-) I am thinking about making an appointment for an assemsment with Norrie Carr for my dd as got the standard email saying they want to meet etc. Has anybody had any experience with them or have any knowledge about them from other people?

Thanks :-)

totallyfloaty35 · 02/03/2006 09:44

oops posted on old thread
hi all, casting was busy about 30 kids, all girls.Agencies represented were Norrie Carr,Scallywags,Rascals,KL,U/A,B&B,MOT and Elizabeth smith.Iwas standing next to the girl with the list so had a sneaky peek
How was the xfm shoot?
Tiasmum, norrie have a gd rep but they can be brusqe and they have high start up costs

cyan · 02/03/2006 09:44

hi misdee hope you all feel better.

tiasmummy> my ds used to be with norrie carr, they are a reputable agency but I found them a bit snooty from time to time. We are now with Urban angels. How olds your dd? Have you triedn anywhere else. If you want, i can let you know all the costs of norrie carr etc. Have they told you you have to pay the £20 assessment fee?

we are off shortly ds has his book shoot, its for halloween or something.

allie if you read this am interested in the virgin vie stuff do you have a kit for sale? x

cyan · 02/03/2006 09:46

totally am going to brighton next weekend now as SD has to get his car sorted on sat. i think i might book myself in for deep massage thingy!!!

started makeup and facials course last night, i really enjoyed it at least hardly any anatomy this time round!!!

2ManyPimms · 02/03/2006 09:55

Tiasmum - I just had an assessment with Norrie Carr a couple of weeks ago. It was really to see if DS was not incredibly shy and to interview me to see whether or not my committment to DS's "career". They were informative but I thought they were too big of an agency - and too expensive. I can't fault their reputation in the industry.

Could someone post the details of the other agencies for Tiasmum - a guest has just arrived!

Good luck!!!!

Hi all.....well Yack's back (and knackered!)
Yesterday went well....there were 4 babies plus one spare for Franz Ferdinand! It was a bit chaotic getting all 4 to sit still in one place for any length of time hence the shoot taking an hour and a half! They all looked good and did look uncaniliy like the boys from the group!!! They are for the manchester launch so will be up around there if anyones that way!!!! Although they did say that if they do any for London they will be in touch!...so you never know!!
There were babes there from ES, Rascals, and AK.
So all in all we had a good, if not knackering day!!Grin

yackertyyack · 02/03/2006 10:04

CYAN >>>> Hope you and Charlie have a fab time on your shoot!!!Grin

Tiasmummy · 02/03/2006 10:16

Cheers cyan and 2many :-) My dd is currently with Bizzykidz...but there seems to be a clear trend in conversations about them! lol! No work with them as yet which seems to be the common story.

Cyan - yes they have asked for £20 assemsment fee. I would be grateful if you could let me know their costs:-)

Sent dd pics to Urban angels but they said they had already had similar looking children. My daughter is light skinned, I am black and her dad is part black., part white and part chinese. Suppose mixed race little girls do feature quite alot in advertising.

Thanks for your responses :-)

perfumelady · 02/03/2006 10:27

tiasmummy how old is your littleone? there are some people that have had bad experiances with bizzykidz, but also some people have had work from them including my dd1 and they are represented at most castings so it's not all bad, why don't you try another agency that isn't sole rep, one of the other ladies on this thread will be able to tell you which one's are not sole rep(i can't remember) and that way you could try your luck with both agencies.keep your photos up dated and keep in contact with them then you will be fresh in there minds.

perfumelady · 02/03/2006 10:33

totallyfloaty35 do you know how many children they are looking for? did she manage her skipping and hula hoop ok? did they all have to do the same thing? sorry so many questions just like to know all the gossip Grin

sha11 · 02/03/2006 10:38

BK changed our photos overnight, I think I should actually give them a chance, its probably that I am as impatient as most mums are to see their LO's get jobs! the actual issue is IMO there are 2 many babies, otherwise they do get work, for many kids.

izzyrubi · 02/03/2006 10:52

Tiasmum >> Your dd must be beautiful! If I were you I would try Kids London as they're very well known for taking international kids!
Norrie Carr are well known but they charge a lot to join and have photos done, I think it's around £130 or more, plus the £20 for assessment... have you seen the list of agencies we have? might be worth having a look at all of them!

izzyrubi · 02/03/2006 10:54

Yackerty >> Glad job went alright!

Cyan >> Good luck today :)

Totally >> What was the casting for?

Mummy2Toby · 02/03/2006 10:55

Hiya Tiasmummy - I think that there is a post by izzy on another thread which lists all the agencies and some good info about them all Smile I will try to find it and put a link in here for you.

yackertyyack · 02/03/2006 10:55

Hi Sha11,
Worth giving BK time as I have a friend who is with them and her little one, whos a year, has had 1 job and 2 castings!..and if you have paid your money you have nothing to lose by staying with them!!

We have decided that whilst I am pregnant and back at work we are not going to do any more castings (sorry, hope that doesn't sound precosious) but its just a lot of hassle and knackering!! So if we get any I will send them your way!!

marymay · 02/03/2006 10:57

hi totallyfloaty.sorry i am asking questions as well .perfumelady asked most asked most of them for me .did all the girls at the casting have similar looks.just wondering as the one we went to all the girls had long or wavy hair.
hope she gets it

izzyrubi · 02/03/2006 11:03

Yackerty >> I understand your point, especially now that you're back at work! Surely your gorgeous ds will get some jobs with no casting!!! :)
