LuxuryHolidays1 how old is your son? out of your list so far sandra reynolds is highly regarded but i think that is more acting than modelling, are you looking for acting/modelling or just modelling agencies

mythumbelinas · 14/03/2006 10:27

Hehe, thanks for the idea yacks, wouldn't have thought of it .. did just that!

LuxHols, sorry, but i don't know anything about the agencies you mentioned. Best of luck tho!

tigeryuan · 14/03/2006 10:28

morning all..

cyan -- thats fantastic!

LuxuryHolidays1 - welcome to this thread!!

LuxuryHolidays1 · 14/03/2006 10:35

Thanks for welcoming me. My son is 5 and half. Its mainly for photo work that we are looking at although who knows he maybe good at acting. He is photogenic yet he has only done a little drama group locally to me so I am not sure if he will enjoy acting or not. Definitely not singing , he loves it yet sounds like Cats are whailing when he starts! :)

tinkerbellchelle · 14/03/2006 10:35

morning all :) appt went ok Im having to have 2 moles removed just to be on the safe side :)

good luck allie for today :)

cyan > thats really nice from the publishers! :)

yackertyyack · 14/03/2006 10:47

Luxury>>> Have you tried MOT, Kids London or Urban Angels?? There is a long message somewhere about all the different agencies, which is really useful....think it is at the bottom somewhere!! We have come across kids from Scallywags at castings/jobs but they are babies!

LuxuryHolidays1 · 14/03/2006 10:56

Hi

Yes only emailed them today after going through the list I guess it will be a week until I hear from them. I emailed kids London and Urban Angels. I haven't tried MOT. The list is great until I found it I was going round and round in circles trying to search for information,

Realistically I haven't a clue what sort of amount of work to expect yet I thought 1 in a year with Scallywags wasn't worth the fees I had paid. Their renewal is something like 175 pounds plus the 100 photo session and only to be on their books hense why I am looking at others. I don't want to keep paying out not to get much back from it.

perfumelady · 14/03/2006 11:03

LuxuryHolidays1 if you look down, near the bottom of this thread there is a list of modelling agencies and web addresses (2 march 1.43:49pm)the top agencies are bruce& brown, mot, urban angels and kids london they all get plenty of work and have high profile clients.

tink glad your doc's appointment went ok

cyan what a lovely gesture your lo must have made an impression.

ali good luck for m&s today, we went on friday.

mythumbelinas are you building up a portfolio/photo album? my dd was in a girly magazine she was in four issues i scanned every photo of her, saved it to my computer then printed them off to put in her keepsake album.

tinkerbellchelle · 14/03/2006 11:05

luxory > what email address did u send to for kids london? Thought you had to send snail mail? Just wondering as a friend is looking round tried scallywags but said no so given her the list from here but didnt know u could email kids london :)

alliebaba · 14/03/2006 11:07

i thought i'd seen it somewhere perfume.. was it for back to school wear?

LuxuryHolidays1 · 14/03/2006 11:07

Hi

I did this one yet it does say no email applications on it so guess I will have to post a hard copy aswell- my mistake. Just emailed MOT aswell now. So fingers crossed some others come back.

[email protected]

tinkerbellchelle · 14/03/2006 11:13

good luck with your applicatoins :) keep us posted :)

perfumelady · 14/03/2006 11:13

ali yes it was back to school, but we went to battersea for ours, we filled out a form they took one polaroid photo and that was it. where is the fish studio? what outfit are you putting him in?

alliebaba · 14/03/2006 11:14

hello luxury! My ds is 5 and has been with MOT since mid feb. we have our first casting today, they are very good. We went to childsplay for my dd, although they've done some good work in the pasr and the lady was lovely it was like stepping back in time, and now that i've been to MOT i can see a big difference. Also we didn't have to pay anything at MOT, but CP charge £25 for an interview, and over £200 for photos etc.. so a little food for thought there hon!

alliebaba · 14/03/2006 11:16

it is on borough high street, near london bridge tube station. apparently this is a re-cast as they've had trouble getting the right boys.. i don't think there will be many there according to MOT, he's the only one they're sending. I have no idea what to put him in.. shall I take him in his mud caked school uniform???!!! They are shooting it between the 17th and 24th so should hear quite quickly hopefully...

perfumelady · 14/03/2006 11:21

quite a few of the children there on fri were in there school uniform most of the little boys there(that weren't in uniform) had a casual shirt and trousers most had there hair spiked/styled. have you got to travel far?

alliebaba · 14/03/2006 11:25

His uniform is always filthy after school. I've got nice gap jeans, timberland style boots and a smart jumper for him to wear. School is only 1min walk from our house so we'll have time to get changed. He does need a haircut though, but they only told me about the casting at 5.30 last night, will put a bit for wax on it me thinks. We're about 60 miles from London, so will drive to Redbridge and hop on the tube...(I Hope there's parking spaces) will take us about 1hr 45 in all

yackertyyack · 14/03/2006 11:27

its funny....but there always seems to be more demand for boys!! Not sure if that is because not so many want to do it or what!! Good for us thought!! Good luck Allie...sounds very promising! Mud caked uniform with holes in the knees!!! Have you got to take him out of school???? Bet he can't wait!

LuxuryHolidays1 · 14/03/2006 11:27

alliebaba Thats quick for a first casting. My son joined with Scallywags March last year and literally had the one photo session in September. Let me know how you get on. At least you have seen the difference with the agencies and its worth knowing. I would rather hear any negative feedback prior to joining. Although I would say Kids London are the only agency who have also invited my daughter in for an assesment as she is 2 and half and a lot of them do not want that age group. I even emailed photos of my sone and her purely for her to be assesed for them to come back enquirying about my son who I hadn't sent through ! I was quite hoping to get them both on the same books!

LuxuryHolidays1 · 14/03/2006 11:29

Just realised I typed Kids London instead of Child Play accepted them both, sorry
(blush)

alliebaba · 14/03/2006 11:30

my dd is with a different agency.. MOT already had a little girl similar! I think you're right yackerty, less boys want to do it.. I don't think el is that fussed, just wants to go on the tube.. we'll see. I won't force him

yackertyyack · 14/03/2006 11:32

Luxury....we got our first job with KL after 2 weeks of joining! And would highly recommend them.....have they just asked to see DD or DS as well???

LuxuryHolidays1 · 14/03/2006 11:34

Yackertyyack - 2 weeks that is brilliant. Thats the sort of thing I would like! Although we are outside London and from what I had read some agencies prefer you to be London based. Yet my train service is good and quite efficient. have you generally had a lot of work out of them?

perfumelady · 14/03/2006 11:36

that sounds really smart, he'll look great. i think wax would be good, most of the children there were beautifully groomed and dressed,i will def' be more selective with what i put dd in next time. it's so hard when it's your 1st one but you do pick up tips from each one you go to. hope it goes well, post later on to let us know how it went.

perfumelady · 14/03/2006 11:37

sorry that was for ali
