With respect to lit streets, chaste Hmm clothes, state of drunkenness etc etc? Or would I be victim blaming prior to teh event. I KNOW that rape is the fault of the rapists, but I just want my DD's to be safe.

"what they were wearing,
whether they were drunk
their past sexual history (in detail, by interviewing officer)
Nobody goes around saying that men lie about being raped - rapist spent the entire run up to trial spouting this, people believed and questioned victim"

So sad for your friend Sad. I don't understand what these sort of question have anything to do with the crime.

it is horrible, I went to court when my friend pressed assault charges, they rearranged the letters of the name of her horse so it made some obscure S&M reference and made out she was a sex addict

they said that everyone knows she was not the favourite child in her family so therefore she was attention seeking

The local press printed her statement in full, without her name, but EVERYONE new it was her and her whole experience was printed in her words, all the details!

It was a worse invasion than the assault itself!

I know it was awful Sad she was still in 6th form at the time so you can just imagine what it was like for her walking into school after that!

I don't know if she sued the paper in the end or not, they were claiming that they protected her identity by not printing her actual name.. but in a small town that means peanuts!

The treatment of Ched Evans victim will ensure a good few rape victims fail to report as well.

No problem, its my fault for mn'ing and being on the phone Grin

With examples like that on how victims are treated, its no wonder why rape is such an under-reported crime.

BlackOutTheSun · 05/07/2012 20:29

''The treatment of Ched Evans victim will ensure a good few rape victims fail to report as well''

Oh yes, being abused on facebook, twitter and being named on sky news. That poor girl
