Will MN HQ be able to do anything?

Thread Here

Although its not a nice thought I can only deduce from no communication that I have been ripped off for my wedding bits that I sold in good faith at a much reduced price for a mumsnetter.

I also out of the goodness of my stupid heart sent her the necklace I wore on my day for her soemthing borrowed.

I cant "believe" this is intentional as she was so grateful in the beginning.

But countless and emails and threads on here have turned nothing up

Will MN be able to do anything?

someone give me SC's name and address and I will call the police
this kid of thing makes me so mad

spacedonkey · 16/02/2006 11:35

SC - if you're reading this (and I think you are reading this) - FFS send the bloody thing back! What on earth is stopping you? Have you lost it?

I just can't understand the silence

jambuttie · 16/02/2006 11:59

how about trying the work number again????

she may have answered yesterday and tried to fob you off, but you may get another staff member answer the phine today

Kidstrack2 · 16/02/2006 12:07

Postie been fs? hope you have it back now and can move on!

intergalacticwalrus · 16/02/2006 12:41

God, still nothing. This is bloody ridiculous. I would call the police, this has gone on long enough now. If nothing else, it might put the shits up her and prompt her either into sending it back or at least coming clean about losing/selling it.

Flossam · 16/02/2006 12:47

Right FS, you know where she lives. DP is a policeman and thinks that this could go somewhere. Give the police a ring now, in her area. Tell them what has happened and say that you want your necklace back and you would like them to go round and make enquiries. Unless they are having a very busy day, I reckon they will be able to get round there today. Now, hopefully this will ensure you will get your necklace back, and then you can decide whether or not you wish to press charges for obtaining goods with deception and take her to court.
HTH.

'Hello, Constable, I have, of my own free will sent someone I don't actually know, a necklace as a loan, and they haven't given it back yet'....Yes, I think that will get them on the case....

Blu · 16/02/2006 12:48

OK, x posted with Flossam - I bow to her knowledge and experience!

Flossam · 16/02/2006 12:51

The obtaining goods by deception is a 'real' arrestable offence and this does, according to DP come under such a category.

Sits nervously wondering if DP really does know what he is talking about....

intergalacticwalrus · 16/02/2006 12:52

stealing is still stealing, whether it was somthing lent to SC or not. She has had it for a number of months, and has deceived FS all along.

RTKangaMummy · 16/02/2006 12:56

Flossam does your DP have any friends or contacts in the Hertfordshire police that could go round??????

Or does anybody else know any other policemen or women ?????

Flossam · 16/02/2006 13:01

No am afraid not RTKM. He's down in the west country and the only other police we know are in London.

RTKangaMummy · 16/02/2006 13:12

Oh well just a thought

Actually is luton in Bedfordshire?

popsycalindisguise · 16/02/2006 13:18

VeniVidiVickiQV · 16/02/2006 13:21

popsycalindisguise · 16/02/2006 13:22

south of leeds is the south

Freckle · 16/02/2006 13:28

Techinically, of course, they could be classed as unsolicited goods, but the law in this respect tends to be focussed on commercial matters.

I think SC has a moral, rather than a legal, duty to return the necklace and I find it unbelievable that she should make the return of this item into such a distressing time for FS.

zippitippitoes · 16/02/2006 13:31

SC didn't post on the how far are you from a post box thread then?

I think there is the makings of an esoteric play based on this, sort of waiting for Godot style

I hope it comes back soon though

popsycalindisguise · 16/02/2006 13:32

am racking my brain to think of who would play fs
