We have played with Eve / Evie for the new bubaloo but it's just not sticking, something is preventing us both for going for it, and I don't know what / why. Perhaps we'll suddenly feel it and go for it, but maybe not.

Other contenders are:

Lauren
Amelie

Last night D said he really liked the name Saskia, I'm not so sure.

It has to semi go a bit with Carlotte / Lottie (our eldest DD) and her last name begins with M and you makes a 'moy' sound.

Any comments on the names we have thought of and any other suggestions?

my DD is called Isolda and noone ever suggests that on these threads funnily enough!
Amelie & Evie are lovely. But if it's Pip that's sticking, why not? Agree make it Philippa for grown up use. I always feel sorry for kids with names that sound great when you're 3 but which will be mortifying later on.

laurenholly · 02/01/2006 22:48

what me and dp done when i was expecting dd1 we put about 5 names in a tin then picked 1 out and thats what we named her
its the easy way out

Twiglett · 02/01/2006 22:51

I like Pip .. you have my approval

Phillipa

(be careful you don't end up with a pippi longstocking though)

georginars · 02/01/2006 22:52

Isolda is from the Arthurian legend of Tristan and Isolde (or Isolda), and it's also an opera by Wagner. DH studied Arthurian Literature (I know, obscure) and loves Wagner and all music plus I'm a musician. Think Isolde is fairly common in Germany and also Italy/Sweden but not here.

laurenholly · 02/01/2006 22:52

but i think jordan is more for a boy than girl isnt it

Twiglett · 02/01/2006 22:53

Actually

Phillipa Amelie is a beautiful name

Twiglett · 02/01/2006 22:53

but she'll always be a kitten to us

Homemama, you actually have very similar taste to me! DDs mn is Estelle, wanted it to be her fn but DH said no. DSs mn is Francis, would actually have loved Frances Estelle for DD but was not to be as DS got the family name of Francis first

LaurenHolly, Primrose is not at the top of my list but I was just trying to offer food for thought for ThomCat incase she is loving Pip but unsure of Philippa.

Pollyanna · 02/01/2006 22:59

I like Lizzy and Kitty the best. (with Charlotte/Lottie). You could call her Alexandra Kitten and then call her kitty? We call dd1 by her middle name, but she has a grown-up first name.

Also love Florence, Isabella, Rose and Thea.

We have lots of Amelies around here now, but it is a nice name.

GoodKingWestCountryLass · 02/01/2006 23:00

I just think of Katie Price when I think of Jordan kwim?

suedonim · 02/01/2006 23:01

I have a friend with a Phillippa/Pippa, and I adore the name. One of my boys would have been Phillip if I could have persuaded dh.

I also like Claudia and Jane, neither of which you hear nowadays.

georginars · 02/01/2006 23:02

Hm have just reread what I wrote - didn't mean that Pip would be a mortfying name when she's older.
Lottie and Pip or Pippa would be very sweet
