We have played with Eve / Evie for the new bubaloo but it's just not sticking, something is preventing us both for going for it, and I don't know what / why. Perhaps we'll suddenly feel it and go for it, but maybe not.

Other contenders are:

Lauren
Amelie

Last night D said he really liked the name Saskia, I'm not so sure.

It has to semi go a bit with Carlotte / Lottie (our eldest DD) and her last name begins with M and you makes a 'moy' sound.

Any comments on the names we have thought of and any other suggestions?

I'm getting quite fond of Pippa actually.

GoodKingWestCountryLass · 02/01/2006 23:08

Exactly!

And I have to say both my childrens names sort of 'came to them' and whilst I was unconvinced at first (called DD her middle name for the first 3 weeks when not thinking), both now really suit their names

laurenholly · 02/01/2006 23:08

yes there

lauren jessica paige

holly louise susan (after me mum susan is )

soapbox · 02/01/2006 23:10

I had a friend at work who was a Pippa.

I know a quite formidable lady who is a Philippa.

The gineau pig at the DCs nursery was a Pip (but it was a boy)

I think it would make a nice flexible name

But I still like Rosie best - because she was my flower fairy and left me wonderful little messages tucked into the rose petals each year on my birthday

Ooh, do have Frances - I have one! - ours was Frannie when little, and is Fran now, and we know another who insists on Frankie, and she could always be Frances when on her dignity.

Alternatively Elizabeth has lots of options - I just suggested Lizzie on your Xmas Evie thread, it would go beautifully with Lottie but they would still have different formal initials.

laurenholly · 02/01/2006 23:15

there both lovely names lockets what you got for the baby?

Janh · 02/01/2006 23:17

That does make it harder, lockets - like TC's niece (?) being Josephine...DS1 is Joe and my niece has called her baby Joe, but as they are a different generation and we only see them a couple of times a year it's not an issue.

Anyway your DDs have lovely names too

Janh · 02/01/2006 23:21

I seem to remember a loooong boy's name thread before Saskia, lockets? With Dermot and Declan and other Irish type names?

GoodKingWestCountryLass · 02/01/2006 23:21

Is it a cliche to say Aleksander goes well with your girls names? My brothers BF is called that and he goes by Sander but prn more like Zander kwim?

Janh · 02/01/2006 23:22

Dh and I had just agreed on Annie for a girl and I was so excited. Took us the whole pregnancy and a few days after to name ds. And even then his was the only name we could agree on. So to have a girls name sorted with 4 months to go was a relief. Told a friend who looked at me like I was a loon. Then it clicked. I have auburn hair, that was very curly when I was little. Chances are my daughter would have the same. Just not fair calling her Annie.....
