Someone ought to write a list about what all these words mean

for example, whats the difference between a parp and a thunk?

gomez · 23/12/2005 22:59

Moved house just got broadband reconnected and this was the first thread I read. Jeepers. In my sad wee world I was quite excited about popping on to see what had happened over the last couple of weeks. Not convinced worth the effort .

A thunk might have been much more appropriate here. However, a thunk is very rude too IMO!

Thunk is the sound of banging your head on a table hard such is your despair at the rubbish being posted

Janh · 23/12/2005 23:00

Are thunk and thud different, soapbox?

tamba · 23/12/2005 23:01

so...

Parp = you dont want to get drawn in cause the subject pisses you off

Thunk = when its so frustrating cause they are talking rubbish

Thud = ???

merrySOAPBOXingday · 23/12/2005 23:01

Hmmm, not sure - I think a thud is a more serious thunk - where the sound is from falling over with shock at the rubbish being posted

But I'm making that one up TBH!!!

laurenholly · 23/12/2005 23:01

i dont know what most of the words that are writen on here means or maybe im just thick

Weren't thunk and thud interchangable and used specifically for a fragrant, lilac poster of old normally?

merrySOAPBOXingday · 23/12/2005 23:03

Sprucy - I think we can fairly safely answer 'yes' to that one

baublerock · 23/12/2005 23:03

It's not much better than text speak - I can't do Mumsnet speak either

tamba · 23/12/2005 23:03

What about boden? or is that out of mn fashion?

laurenholly · 23/12/2005 23:04

oh so im not the only one the

OP posts:
laurenholly · 23/12/2005 23:05

is anyone going to answer me?

OP posts:
merrySOAPBOXingday · 23/12/2005 23:05

Boden is defo out of fashion, as everyone seems to have sold out and bought up the whole of the shop, judging by the recent Boden sale thread

Boden was always only a distraction though to stop a thread going pear shaped!

Haven't seen '4' for a while either!

Janh · 23/12/2005 23:05

4
