do anyone want to talk throught msn ?

OP posts:
followthestarlover · 23/12/2005 22:20

the thing is, taking the piss out of people... and ridiculing their typing/spelling is ok on some threads.. with people you "know" and you can get away with...

but i think that isn't just good manners not to when someone has posted, is obviously upset over something... and you don't even know them!

You talk about how sad it is that MN is "dumbing down"... well what about the fact that it evidently has no respect or manners? isn't that sad as well?

LadySherlockofLGJ · 23/12/2005 22:21

I am going to bed now but believe me, based on the amount of MSN conversations I have just had, it was boring.

Sorry, but it was.

I will repeat at the risk of being boring, the first part was valid the second part was irrelevant. IMO

followthestarlover · 23/12/2005 22:22

so we shouldn't say irrelevant things?????? well then there are a LOT of convos on here that need your attention in that case!

laurenholly · 23/12/2005 22:22

goodnight

It was just plain rude and the type of thing that gives MN a bad name. Don't think you are speaking for the majority of us LGJ because you are not speaking for me. If you can't take the time to read posts that are a little difficult to read because they are not formatted the way you prefer then don't read them - simple!
Many posts on Mumsnet are confusing or poorly typed either because people are not the greatest typers or they are in a rush to get an emotional problem out.

Laurenholly - I am really looking forward to Christmas, DS1 is 7 and getting pretty hyper, DS2 is 2 so he's just happy with the christmas tree! Do you think you can make up with your Nan in time for christmas? I know she was horrible but It seems so sad to be at loggerheads with family at this time of year (or any other)

followthestarlover · 23/12/2005 22:28

ignore it laurenholly... i learned a long time ago that for the most part, people online aren't worth worrying over.
that's not to say i haven't made some great friends online...

but when people upset you at least you can just ignore it!

LadySherlockofLGJ · 23/12/2005 22:29

Oh Lockets, when this person has passed, you and I shall still be here.

Janh · 23/12/2005 22:30

LGJ, I'm sorry but you really have been out of order here tonight.

If you find a thread uninteresting then just go and find a better one - for you to put someone down like this doesn't help anybody

followthestarlover · 23/12/2005 22:30

what, you mean when you and others have been so nasty that she leaves because this isn't a very nice place?

this isn't a f**king exclusive club! you don't have honours just because you've been here longer.

baublerock · 23/12/2005 22:31

OMG - I just read that last post about talking on MSN. Why do I suddenly feel back at school with bullies bitching behind my back?? Really not a nice thought - you having a good laugh then LGJ?

It may be irrelevant to you but those are details of someone's life and as such, I'm sure they are relevant to her or to her posts.

I'm not sure why you feel you should police the 'dumbing down of mumsnet' [sic], even if that is the case. As far as I'm aware, this is a support board for people from all walks of life. Some of our grammar is lacking, some of us can't type well, or spell! (That would be me )

We're all trying our bluddy best in what is sometimes a difficult bluddy life and believe me, this is one MNer you certainly weren't voicing (typing) the thoughts of because our thoughts differ a great deal.

Live and let live!

Laurenholly, enjoy chrismas with your chidren and those you love and who love you enough to want you to enjoy it
