No we hadn't paid thank goodness. It was supposed to be £10 for them to deliver to anywhere in London. So I replied to her just now and said I'd let her have an address in London so she could deliver them. Now she's saying I'm sending her intimidating messages!

100years I've accepted you!

AC - How irritating!! What a silly woman! Why doesn't she want to sell you the chairs?

100 - I did the ring test, and chinese calendar all said Girl for me (for DD) plus other things like I carried all around (instead of out front) and I looked and felt like shit most of the PG were indications as well apparently. If the sonographer had said 'boy' at my 20 week scan I would have fallen off the bed! I was so convinced it was a girl...and I was right! :o But then I have had friends who haven't found at at scan & were convinced on what they were having & been wrong, so a mother's instinct isn't 100%!! Wink

Eye still completely buggered, but feet no worse.

Oh & exciting news...I'm going to be doing my first wedding cake!! For my friends civil union in July! I'm bricking it!!! It's themed and requires me to do some clay models & it's a stacked cake & I've not done one of those before!! Confused

Hi everyone,

CONGRATULATIONS JBELLS!!!!!!! fantastic news, glad you are both ok!

hope you are doing ok bebe, it sounds like you are having a rough time :(

Not long now until you are officially TTC AC! Wowzers! I am really thrilled for you....

Re maternity clothes WW, I have not bought any yet, i am finding that I had a passion for baggy or empire line type clothes anyway so many of my normal clothes are still fitting. Also I have been threading a hair bobble through the button hole of my jeans and around the button to give a bit more leeway- obvs you have to wear this look with a long top!

My friend who is a few week ahead of me has been in Maternity clothes for a while and she has given me lots of tips- New Look somebody has already said but also apparently Peacocks has a good, inexpensive maternity range and so does Matalan. She warned me that she has already grown out of the Topshop jeans she got with elasticated panels- better to go for trousers with an adjustable waistband.

nannyl- do you have any experience with re-usble nappies? I would be interested to heat your thoughts :)

squirrel007 · 21/05/2011 21:47

100years fingers crossed your GTT comes back ok! It's a horrible test - making you starve for hours when pregnant, so definitely take something to snack on as soon as you can :) How are the pains? Feeling any better?

bebe have you managed to get seen by the nurse or doctor? Glad the haircut went well! Love the look of your toffee apple and peach melba cupcakes Grin Your wedding cake is going to be fabulous, I'm sure of it :)

nannyl hope the NCT sale is good this weekend!

swi hope you're enjoying your glamorous weekend of travelling! How did you get on driving in London? I refuse to drive there!

Amanda how can anyone put something up for sale and then decide not to - that's really annoying! Reply and tell her that if you had put something up for sale you'd always have the courtesy to follow it through. I'm also Shock at your name not being Amanda (although, I didn't really think it would be!)

whywait my maternity clothes are a mix from Gap, DPs (brilliant for jeans IMO), ASOS (got a nice cheap dress for an wedding there), Isabella Oliver (expensive but worn the most), topshop, seraphine and ebay (cheap but don't always fit). Most of it's pretty bland though :( So I have spent more on jewellery than on clothes recently! The ebay dress you bought looks good though, perfect for summer.

jbells glad you're home and feeling ok! I'm not on facebook so can't add you, but I bet your boy is gorgeous :)

Things here are going ok - I'm on a strict diet now to try and manage the GD, have to spread the carbs out during the day instead of eating loads in one go. Luckily I eat a lot of suitable food anyway, just need to cut out the rubbish, alter the portions a bit and have a few more snacks. I'm actually feeling a bit more energetic, but I don't know if that's the new diet or some other reason! We have another scan this week, to check that baby isn't too big, so I'm looking forward to seeing how he/she is doing :) DH and I are sorting out the last baby bits and pieces too, so soon we'll be ready. I think the last bits we have to get are a car seat and a moses basket - it's getting scary now to think it's so close!

Hope you're all having a good weekend!

squirrel007 · 21/05/2011 21:50

X-posted strawberry :) i'm interested to hear about reusables too! Have bought a bunch of disposables to start with, just so I have a bit of time to get used to having a baby(!), but would like to switch to reusable fairly quickly.

AmandaCooper · 21/05/2011 21:52

Just type her email address into "search" and select to search "everyone".

Hello
Yes i think its fair to say I am a bit if a nappy addict.... have used all sorts in my time (most brands of cloth AND most brands of disposable) and cloth are by far my favorite (although some a rubbish and even if given them I wouldnt actually use them!)
ask away!.... Smile
I have a massive cloth collection already (far far far to many, if im honest and enough for if i had triplets) and my only disposable nappies are the ones i have had FREE with my coupons, & free samples though i dont plan to use them at all if Im lucky enough to have a home birth, though will have to use them in hospital i guess?!?! Sad
Lovely dress whywait

and great to have some of you on facebook ( AC I too was Shock your name isnt Amanda lol! Smile)

NCT sale Ok but TINY.... never been to such a small one! We were the first people in Grin and out and paid within 25 mins ,having looked at everything at least 3 times!... spent a grand total of £6.50, but got a lot for my £6.50 so still happy.

Pretty non-eventful weekend really... spent this afternoon at MIL's and this evening early bath and just chilling really.

Nothing exciting happening tomorrow either, OH getting up early to play golf, then chopping our hedge.... I'll cook a Sunday Roast and pudding etc and other wise not a lot really

JBells hope you are enjoying your 1st family weekend Smile

bebejones · 21/05/2011 22:07

I'm now friends with JBells & AC so it's fairly obvious who I am if anyone wants to add me! My profile pic is DD! (Coz she's way cuter than me Wink :o)

Not sure about wedding cake... it's a WoW theme, which I know F all about! Confused Have spent the day doing sketches for the cake toppers which my friend also wants me to make, from clay!!! Bit scared!

Squirrel - didn't know you had GD, did I miss that?! Hmm Confused Glad that you are able to control it with diet though. FX for the scan! :)

Waves to Strawberry!

Meant to say before, think it might have been mentioned, 'Bump bands' fab for putting over the tops of open 'normal' trousers to hold them up & cover bump.

DH annouced today that we are going on a 2 week holiday next Summer...then wondered why I was looking so glum about a holiday. I'd rather have a baby! :(

Eyes still buggered...feet ok!

Other than that no news, has been a quiet day!

bebejones · 21/05/2011 22:09

Xpost Nannyl

Shall have to look out for you on fb!

Sounds like a good productive trip to the NCT sale! :)

nannyl · 21/05/2011 22:17

Hello
OMG bebe... i have just found you and you know one of MY nanny friends..... initials CP!
How do you know her?

bebejones · 21/05/2011 22:43

MN! :o She asked how I knew you!!

nannyl · 22/05/2011 08:40

you mean mumsnet? or maternity nurse? (both applicable lol) Grin

bebejones · 22/05/2011 09:49

Mumsnet!

ShaggingWithIntent · 22/05/2011 11:24

Hi jbells! Have added you on FB but as I did it on my iPhone I couldn't add a message! Initials PG and profile pic of me in sunglasses and a pink dress.

Just chilling out at my mum's flat by the coast today. So nice but missing DH. Haven't yet worked out if we managed to BD at the right time this month but keeping everything crossed for some good luck!

X

100years · 22/05/2011 12:53

AC, yep, got your confirmation :) Blinking stoopid woman with the chairs.

bebe, I'm sure your wedding cake will be lovely, you have done some amazing cakes recently :) Well we shall see if my instinct is right or not. Feels a bit strange actually saying out loud which flavour I think it is.

Lovely dress WhyWait :)

Hi Strawbs :) re maternity jeans, I bought some that are 'over the bump' ones and the waistband is also adjustable with the elastic things that pull them tighter. Still have them falling down a little, but they are fitting better now.

Thanks Squirrel, it's Thursday :( Boo, will take a book or my headphones and hopefully have a snooze so long as I'm not sat in uncomfy chairs. Hopefully your new diet will be OK for you and keep you having more energy.

nanny, glad you got some good stuff, even if there wasn't a lot of stuff there.

SWI, will keep our fingers crossed for you, and will add you as well when jbells has accepted you :)

Pelvic pain is super bad today, and it really affected my sleep last night, was v uncomfy. Am now on the paracetamol at regular intervals. OH was chuckling to himself when I walked back to the car after stopping for a wee at the services and so I asked what it was, and he commented on how I was walking, :( Boo, I said 'oh thanks' in a sarcy loving tone, knew it was happening, then this woman walked passed who was very obviously about 8 months pregnant, walking FINE, and he said, she's pg and walking OK, I told him those are things I don't need to hear! I know he doesn't mean anything bad at all. I must admit I'm worried, if I'm like this NOW, what will I be like when I'm properly heavily pregnant? Must get him to take a pic of bump, and will post it.

Last night we were at a wedding party of a friend of his, he was obviously VERY proud of me and me carrying his baby, bump was pointed out A LOT, and was practically the first thing he said to people, and he at times just stroked my belly and asked if everything was OK in there. :)

MrsSatsuma · 22/05/2011 18:50

100, that's so sweet!

bebe at least you know your DH is planning to take two weeks off rather than work all summer. Or could this be a way into the conversation perhaps..?

SWI Sorry you're missing your DH - my friend is stressing about the same thing as they can't get jobs near each other which sucks. I've almost given up trying to time BD - my charts are so all over the place, I seem to get it wrong every month anyway!

nannyl glad you got some bargains :)

Sorry I can't add anyone to FB - I have to stay extra careful and hidden because of school!

Am off to eat the cakes I just made.... yum....

MrsSatsuma · 22/05/2011 18:50

Sorry, did I say eat the cakes? I meant offer round the cakes, of course... :)

100years · 22/05/2011 19:08

MrsS, sorry to hear you are fed up trying to time BD :( And I just made a cake too :) It's yum :)

WhyWait, I have confirmed you, I thought it was you, looked at your wall and saw baby chilling and thought yep, defo :) I must admit I have made a little note of everyone's real names for the moment, only because I've added 6 new friends in the past couple of days and I want to make sure I don't get mixed up, pregnancy brain and all that. Although I doubt I'll need the list, nice to have it for a week or two! If you all know what I mean and hopefully aren't offended. My midwife is referring me for physio anyway, I only saw her on Wednesday, so I reckon I've got a week or so to wait - hopefully no longer than that. Actually, your comment about your size, someone said to me last night I was going to have a big baby! GREAT news hey!!!! But she thought I was earlier than I actually am, who knows.

I am now friends with SWI & WW & 100 & AC & JBells & Nannyl...I think! Confused

I have to admit when PG with DD I was 3 days off my due date & checkout lady in Tesco asked when LO was due. When I said 'in 3 days' she was Shock 'You only look about 6 months!' I carried all around & DD was 6lb 13oz. I did have a bump, but it was neat!! I'd LOVE a big bump next time, whenever that may be!

WW - WoW is 'World of Warcraft', the online game. Google if you don't know, it's all mythical/fantasy adventure type stuff. Very Geeky...no offence intended to any fans!!

Had a good weekend, thought things were leading into a 'chat' nicely. Then FIL called & now DH is in a black mood & won't tell me why! Hmm

squirrel007 · 22/05/2011 20:57

nannyl you really know everything there is to know! Which brands of cloth nappy do you recommend? Glad you got some bargains at the NCT sale, even if it was smaller than you were expecting.

bebe sorry to hear your eyes are still bad - did you get the new glasses?

swi fingers crossed it was the right time!

100years your OH sounds great Grin I've found that the aches and pains come and go a bit, not get steadily worse throughout. Obviously I'm not at the end yet, so maybe things will change, but you might not find yourself getting worse and worse.

mrsS I think virtual cakes are ok on my diet, so I'll have two Grin

whywait GD is gestational diabetes, I got diagnosed last week :( Isabella Oliver is more expensive than I'd like, but everything I got from there was on sale. They regularly have discounts and money off. I've justified it by not buying many maternity clothes, and just wearing the same stuff over and over :)

Have had a relaxed day here, enjoying the last days of lazing around doing nothing!!
