sometimes we kind of forget and then we're out or something, then it's the weekend then it's suddenly a week since their last bath. is that bad?

It used to be every night but now it's probably every other night or so. they are 4.5, almost 3 and 1.

charellie · 22/09/2005 19:55

Same as you hatstand I'm afraid. I have DTs aged 3 and sometimes they only have a bath once a week. Usually twice a week though if poss.

They always have a bath on a Saturday but then it can get to the weekend again and I realise I haven't given them another one.

I've always been bad at the bathing thing with them.

Lmccrean · 22/09/2005 20:02

DD (nearly 3) has a bath on sunday mornings before visiting relatives and during week when i need 15 mins peace to write a letter or do paperwork (obv in bathroom with her)! otherwise, she just just showers herself, sometimes twice a day, or not at all for 3 days straight, depending on how she feels - she dosent like being dirty when going to bed, although she doesnt care when shes rolling in mud a few hours before

mugface · 22/09/2005 20:04

2 or 3 times a week for mine although if are obviously dirty from playing out or something then they would have a bath then of course.

Roobie · 22/09/2005 20:05

I am generally the lax type although in this case dd does have a bath every night as it is so ingrained as part of her bedtime routine.

nutcracker · 22/09/2005 20:07

Usually every other day, but no longer than 3 days.

tissy · 22/09/2005 20:08

Dd gets a bath every night unless we are out late. It's part of her routine, but she only gets bubbles once a week and only gets a hair wash once a week, and the rest of the time it's plain water only. Her skin has been much more settled on this regime!

mine too, every night. its a good relaxing bedtime routine to get into. except when dh does it, then there's squeeling, water going everywhere etc etc...!

I aim to do it every other night and has times when I manage that for weeks.

Then it starts to slip and it get to twice a week.

hatstand · 22/09/2005 20:14

at last there are a few who aren't every night or every other night. It;s quite unusual for tmine to go a week, it's usually twice a week, which feels fine to me

Every night would do my head right in!

It's a right PITA on holiday... all that sand means I can't get away with it.

LadyTophamHatt · 22/09/2005 20:17

haVE times

durrrr!

laughinglil · 22/09/2005 20:23

every morning without fail. I feel as if they are dirty if I don't! Even though they are not (twin dd/ds 19m)

WestCountryLass · 22/09/2005 20:25

DD has a bath every night, DS has one most nights but if he doesn't want one I don't force him.

twirlaround · 22/09/2005 20:42

Approx 4 baths a week and 3 hairwashes...used to be once a day or even more but now dd is at school there seems to be no time for ANYTHING particularly as I am hopelessly disorganised...

Aero · 22/09/2005 21:07

Twice a week unless spectacularly grubby - summer was almost nightly - what a PITA. Hairwash each time with weekly nit inspection!

sansouci · 22/09/2005 21:09

Every 2nd day... we have very hard water which dries skin out, especially baby skin, & gives them exzema.

Also, ds screams his head off so can't face it every day.

RachD · 22/09/2005 21:26

Ds 19 mths.
Used to bath him every morning.
Did it in morning, because I thought his wee smelled strong.
He has just started wanting to have a shower, every morning.
Gets in with me.
By the time I'm finished, he is practically clean.
(I wash his hair every day.
Often his hair is damp after a nap.)
Brilliant!
Does no one else do this ?

kim5145 · 22/09/2005 21:28

I bath my daughter every other day.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 22/09/2005 21:29

Jess (14 months) gets bathed pretty much every day - unless DH is feeling lazy!

She loves bath time!

jamboure · 22/09/2005 21:32

every night an sometimes in the morning too.

Boys are now so set in their wee routine.

Dinner, bath, bed

blueteddy · 22/09/2005 21:34

When I just had the 1 child, it was every night.
Now I have the 2 of them, it is more like every other night! (unless they are overly grubby!)
