It looks nice, but I'm loyal to .co.uk Grin

Bucharest · 23/11/2010 13:40

Rosa- I clicked on something yesterday at 15 seconds past the time it had gone on sale and there were none left. Haven't even looked today.

What are the .it prices like? Because Italy has still not understood the ebay concept, so am wondering if Amazon.it will be any more convenient than having stuff shipped out?

Am away to scuola media. I have both projects this year (do not think this is because am brill, though obviously am Grin) it's because only I applied!

Sputnik · 23/11/2010 15:53

Can't really see the point in amazon.it for toys etc now they are doing free delivery anyway. Delivery is pretty quick usually too.

Francagoestohollywood · 23/11/2010 20:39

Yes, it takes usually 6 days here.

minervaitalica · 24/11/2010 08:48

Well, they seem to have some good stuff on amazon.it (stuff that Feltrinelli does not have or is permanently out of stock). I just hope it's still going to be possible to order from amazon.co.uk tho!

Off to London tmrw night for a long weekend -we also planned a visit to a couple of schools in South London... Let's see how it goes...

My sis and new boyfriend also coming along - I hope it goes OK - she has a history of breaking up with boyfriends shortly after a weekend in London . It would be a pity as I like this one better Grin

Francagoestohollywood · 24/11/2010 13:39

Minerva, you'll have to chaperon your dsis and her boyfriend and try to prevent any battibecco Grin. It'll be awkward though Grin

Hurrah, I managed to get ds his pinball machine from Imaginarium.

minervaitalica · 24/11/2010 14:00

Noooooo. I cannot possibly do the tower and the changing of the guard yet again. I'll let them get on with things: a bit like a test!

Rosa · 24/11/2010 14:12

I would love to be in London now just the build up to Xmas etc. DH has gone to the NOrth Face outlet. BAsed on how much he spends I will be doing likewise in M&S and Amazon sta sera !!!!! He does need a new winter jacket and it has to be a warm one but I have my doubts he will come home just with that !

Francagoestohollywood · 24/11/2010 14:12
Grin
Francagoestohollywood · 24/11/2010 14:15

The North Face can be very dangerous, I suppose Grin. Mind you, dh found a great bargain 2 yrs ago at the serravalle outlet. A very warm jacket, good for skiing and the city, at 50% off.

eurocommuter · 24/11/2010 18:20

Hello All
Been missing in action. I hope you all have been well. Rosa, how is teh cold.

Buch how is dd?

I'm very busy at work and home. Not been very good with Christams shopping. Signed up on Quidco and forgot to use it completely. Just bought a doll's house from Amazon. Someone told me that they just got one of Amazon's black Friday for half the price. And now I hear there is Amazon .it, so paid shipping for nothing. So i don't want to shop anymore.

Minerva, good luck with the school thing.

Francagoestohollywood · 24/11/2010 21:00

Hello Euro, good to see you back.

I think Christmas shopping is more or less always bound to be frustrating... there is always something cheaper or nicer somewhere else, where you didn't check Hmm

minervaitalica · 25/11/2010 08:14

Yes Franca - indeed - I suppose you have to do the best you can with bargains! Once upon a time when there was no internet, you would just check out a couple of shops and then buy - and that was it. Now there is so much information around, which in theory is helpful but

Freezing here today, but glorious weather nevertheless. I hope it does not snow in London tmrw though...

eurocommuter · 25/11/2010 10:25

Completley agree with you both. The more choice and information we get the more frusttrating things are.

Minerva I hope it does not snow either.I will cry if i get stuck in London this weekend.

eurocommuter · 25/11/2010 11:06

Can you guys tell me what you think about this issue

minervaitalica · 25/11/2010 12:00

EUro, it does sound a bit strange - not the present necessarily (she might have seen the book and bought it on a whim knowing about your DH's passion), but your DH's attitude is telling (I would expect men to be flattered by female attention so if he felt uncomfortable well... I would listen to him).

I personally would not say anything specific, and wait for her next "move"

Francagoestohollywood · 25/11/2010 12:59

It is bizarre, especially him finding her presence uncomfortable.
I agree with Minerva, I'd wait for her next move. There is a possibility that she did this in a totally friendly way.

Minerva have a great we in London! Envy

BananaGio · 25/11/2010 14:11

Another one who think strange behaviour. Don't agree with the idea your DH behaved oddly though. How good a friend is she? How long have you known her? Does she have a track history of oddness?
Uffa I cannot be bothered to work! I am tired after a lovely meal out with the girls last night, it is wet and rainy and I want to either watch something crappy like Glee Blush or put the xmas tree up (I know I know-its November)

OP posts:
Francagoestohollywood · 25/11/2010 14:17

Oh no, I wasn't implying that Euro's dh has been odd. What I meant was that it is telling that her dh felt uncomfortable around her.

Ah Gio, I'd put up the tree if you are in the mood Smile. I can't wait too!

eurocommuter · 25/11/2010 14:34

I have known her fo a couple of years now. She has alienated a lot of our our mutual friends that is why i didn't go to them because they would just say 'we told you so'. But i could i just too k a behaviopur was due to what she was going through. It's not a precious friendship but i found what she did ver inappropriate. Not the buying the pressie, its the not telling me about it and addressing it to him.

Banana. i have so much to do at work I'm not doing any of it. I want to put the christmas tree up.

BananaGio · 25/11/2010 14:38

no didnt mean you Franca, there were some people saying her DH's behaviour was odd on other thread.
Am very close to putting the tree up.........

OP posts:
Francagoestohollywood · 25/11/2010 16:14

Ah yes, you are right Gio, there were some comments along that line on the thread.

So, is the tree up now?

Yes, I agree, bizarre that she didn't mention the present with you.

Bucharest · 25/11/2010 18:02

Blimey EC, she sounds like the sort of loon I usually end up with. I'm guessing you've already decided that this is a friendship to be dropped as soon as, with no further invites!

Don't think your dh acted oddly (and btw, I can vouch for Mr Euro being very easy on the eye, but still.....Grin)

Dd still off school, but is going back tomorrow because I need to leave the house! (if nothing else to go and pick up my cheque from last year )

Can you all suggest me some heavy political/religious tomes for dp for Christmas? What's out at the mo? Or political satire stuff? (I know I ask this every year!)

Sputnik · 25/11/2010 21:00

I agree with everyone else, it all sounds a bit odd, especially that she didn't mention it.

Ok, I have to crow a bit here, as DH is away and I've no one else handy to crow to. I opened a shop on Etsy yesterday and I'm totally gobsmacked as I've sold my first item in less than 24 hours Shock. Somehow I wasn't actually expecting to sell anything really...!

God I love the internet :o

Francagoestohollywood · 25/11/2010 22:01

What's Etsy? Well done Sputnik Smile!!!

Grin Buch!!! Btw, how do you know mr Euro is easy on the eye? (is he Scamarcio? Wink)? (nosey)

Off to google etsy... Goodnight ladies.
