Welcome aboard.

The first rule of the tea room is - No fisticuffs.
The second rule is - Put the kettle on and lets have a Brew or open a bottle of Wine if its that time of day. Pull a sofa and relax. Parents of one, more (or less) children are welcome to hop on board and chat about anything and nothing. Introduce yourself if new and if you name change give us clue please.

Nah, have a cupcake instead. They are pink and sparkly (the theme tomorrow at school) but v tasty.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 17/11/2011 20:46

Arf, Oxeye, you should be on the stage!

Unis, Go and do some work but not before you've spent a while in here drinking Wine and scoffing twiglets!

Jacksmania · 17/11/2011 20:49

Right, I'm with UniS, need to stop procrastinating and get some work done!!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 17/11/2011 20:51

Have you seen your thread recently, JM? It's a phenomenon!

Jacksmania · 17/11/2011 21:30

I'm so glad I can make everyone laugh by being my usual self a complete twat :o
Will go and look!

UniS · 17/11/2011 21:49

JM makes tread of teh day- WOOOOT

wine would be nice, maybe a beer. I "could" go and get one in RL, I've done SOME work now. Trouble is that what I don;t do now I have to do tomorrow in the 3 hours between dropping boy at school and returning to school to work the afternoon.

Boy wishes to forgo breakfast at home tomorrow in favour of the coffee / juice and croissant being offered at school as a CiN fund-raiser. Hmm see if he still thinks like that when it's time to get dressed and out the door early. He's gonna look a sight anyway. Non uniform, so hes chosen bright colour trews , different bright colour T ( MT- I think you would recognise it, has robots and sploges) , multi colour (V bright) waistcoat and a spotty bandanna. He also wants coloured hair....

Thread of the day? What's that? Confused

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 17/11/2011 21:54

::Shakes cheerleader pompoms::

Way to go, JM! You have brought a lot of amusement to a lot of ladies. And yes, where do you find thread of the day? Thanks

beanandspud · 17/11/2011 21:56

:: Crawls out from under a cloud of flour and icing sugar ::

Why is baking so much harder when you are trying to do it in a rush? Biscuits for Children in Need baking thingy are now finished. I used to have a kitchen but I now appear to have a disaster zone (Michel Roux Jnr would be very cross). Can anyone see the Wine? It used to be on the worktop.

Jacksmania · 17/11/2011 22:00

Thanks Maud - but I've really started to wonder, as much as I like making everyone laugh and don't mind poking fun at myself, it is always me who says the stupidest things, or does something really numpty-like... it's made me wonder if I'm ever going to grow the hell up. I mean, you posted on the thread that you knew it was me from the title :o - which is funny, it really is... but it also means that everyone knows I'm a bloody numpty, and I just wish I could be a bit less, I don't know... stupid?

UniS · 17/11/2011 22:01

sorry- "disscusion of teh day"
look to the right.....
in a purple headed box ( on this browser and style set up, YMMV)

JM - I am working my way backwards through here and have found your thread - it's brilliant!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 17/11/2011 22:12

No, no, no. I didn't know it was your thread because you are (or because I think you are) a numpty. I knew it was your thread because although we all say and do daft things - my most recent one was so spectacularly bad that I can't post it because it involves very well-known people and would out me completely - you have the courage to own up to yours and to share them and to invite other people to share theirs too. Reading the thread was very comforting because it did confirm that we all put our foot in it occasionally and, yes, it's all light-hearted, but there's a lot of support and fellow-feeling going on there.

So please don't feel bad about your little faux-pas or about the thread. That thread is evidence that it certainly isn't you who always says the stupidest things - just look at the number of people on your thread who have admitted to far more horrendous boo-boos than yours. The way I read it, people are laughing with you, not at you.

Jacksmania · 18/11/2011 00:08

That thread is evidence that it certainly isn't you who always says the stupidest things - ok - true! Now I feel better :)

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 18/11/2011 00:10

Good night, my dear!

Where's Waldo for toddlers I saw a couple of these at the store this evening and got one for Toddler for Boxing Day (MrScout's family does Boxing Day presents and we always give everyone a book). How cool is that (the book, not the presents)? Had I known about them before we bought Winnie the Pooh I'd so totally would have ordered the Peanuts Christmas one (I heart the Peanuts Christmas).

Jacksmania · 18/11/2011 05:15

Scout, it's so sweet to read your posts from home. It comes through in every letter how happy you are. Makes me all :)

Scout19075 · 18/11/2011 14:48
Blush

I am happy to be here.

Toddler and I are going to make chocolate chip/peanut butter chip cookies today. This evening I'm going to make cheesey pretzel rods. Over the weekend I'm going to make homemade cranberry sauce and the mini/individual apple pie (pockets) for Thanksgiving. My sister's birthday is next week and though she told Mom she didn't want a cake this year I know my sister and how much she loves her birthday cake so if she doesn't get one she'll sulk, so maybe Toddler and I will make her one this weekend.

Oh, and JM, we're going to make your homemade goodies today, too. It's not going to be British-Christmasy like I had hoped -- forgot to bring some of the stuff with me and it's too much like hard work trying to scout all of the pieces (and ingredients) here. However, I hope you'll like the new treat(s?) instead.

Jacksmania · 18/11/2011 15:00

I know I'll love whatever it is and I don't want it to be hard work for you. I had so much fun making your necklace and figuring out what would make it bright and sparkly - I don't get to make jewelry much anymore - so it was as much a treat for me as for you. So no working hard while you're at home!!!
Has your sister gotten over herself yet?

Scout19075 · 18/11/2011 18:39

Boys and their toys. Grin MrScout's package from his favorite website/shop arrived an hour ago and he's now running around like a loon, "setting things going" and trying out new camera pieces, etc.

UniS · 18/11/2011 21:33

boys and they toys indeed, glad mrScout is having fun too.

Busy day over. self employed repair and PAT testing this morning, MTA, and TA at school from 12-3.30 , then picked up boy and another child and took to swim lessons, then did family swim session, then home for tea and got boy into bed about 7. Hurrah. I'm reading him some Horrid Henry stories as bedtime stories, they are quite fun to read aloud, lots of opportunity for whiny or cross voices.
I'm about to kick back and enjoy a jacquline Wilson novel- research you understand, for teh nest round of birthday present for neices/nephews buying. I have diary of a wimpy kid to read as well.I Asked Yr 5 teacher what her class like reading.

Anyone fancy a beer and some twiglets??
