Welcome aboard.

The first rule of the tea room is - No fisticuffs.
The second rule is - Put the kettle on and lets have a Brew or open a bottle of Wine if its that time of day. Pull a sofa and relax. Parents of one, more (or less) children are welcome to hop on board and chat about anything and nothing. Introduce yourself if new and if you name change give us clue please.

Because we all need a little in our lives.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 08/10/2011 12:18

That's great, Scout! .

UniS · 08/10/2011 14:25

scout- can you include notepaper and stamps in your gift? Nice PJs sounds like a thoughtful gift for a boarder allowed few "personals" maybe nice shower gel/ shampoos, lip balm etc.

Good morning all!
Thank you so much for packing my yoga books and bringing them while I was sleeping. I heart you all Thanks.

Say hello to [insert name of JM's yoga studio]'s new prenatal yoga teacher :o. They asked me to take over the prenatal yoga class! I've been subbing in for the instructor who was supposed to teach it, because she's been in hospital, and apparently she's going to be out for quite a while. I feel badly for her, she's apparently got some family problems too - uck :(. I'm delighted to take over the class but I wish it could have been for a happier reason.

So... where is this barge taking us?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 08/10/2011 16:11

Good evening!

Scout19075 · 08/10/2011 19:27

I am sooooo stupidly excited for Christmas!

UniS · 08/10/2011 19:42

Made some more christmas cards with boy today. He has a style all of his own! each card has a single "Ho Ho " stuck inside. in the extreme top Left hand corner. not quite what I meant by " why don't you pop a happy Christmas sticker in side"

Blimey- assci art is hard on MN. spaces don't stay where I put them.

Wood burner is on for first time this autumn. has been a tad chilly last few evenings. Even more so tonight as I still have bathroom window open, I painted the frame today and its not dry yet.

SO can I help any one to a rum punch with a nautical twist? the NMBS are all dressed in sailor suits and look adorable. Mellors is striking a fine figure in his Jolly Jack Tar tight stripey T shirt and 3/4 length trews.

We went to a Wood and Craft Fair. I do love Craft Fair Season -- we go to so many and usually find some lovely gifts. Today was no different. AND we got Toddler some more Brio pieces to go with his train set (some of which half the price as I've seen online). This will be the last year we can buy TS's gifts in front of him but today we took full advantage of being able to. I think TS and MrScout are going to have a great Christmas morning playing with the trains.

LittleDeerandMe · 08/10/2011 20:50

Busy busy day today! First swimming lesson, then puppet show, then storytime in the bookshop, then lunch in Subway, then to friends to play/chat and drink coffee, then climbing a hill in the rain with these friends, then back to their place for soup and more playing/chatting.

LittleDeerandMe · 08/10/2011 20:54

You know what it is Thumb, until last night I most always enjoyed my quiet evenings to myself but last night for some reason I just felt like I was killing time, just trying to pass the time but not enjoying it. I'm fine now in the mornings when LittleDeer is in school as I go to the gym, which I'm surprisingly loving. It's just every now and again I get tired of being on my own, and of course I have no option in the evenings when LittleDeer is in bed, I quite simply have to stay put, on my own.

beanandspud · 08/10/2011 21:21

Evening all! Rum punch would be lovely - brings back memories of my student days when Rum and Black was the drink of choice!

We've had a busy day. Football for Small Bean this morning and then this afternoon we went to an open day at the school that he will go to next year (dh hadn't had a chance to see it). It was very, very strange seeing him in a school environment and the scary thing was that he loved it and seemed to fit right in. It's still a long way off but I'm not sure I'm ready to be mum to a school-age child iyswim!?!?

LD&M - I think I know what you mean. Mr Bean is away quite a lot and whilst most of the time I actually quite enjoy having the time to do jobs, have a relaxing bath, watch what I want on tv, there are some weeks when it is just a bit sad and lonely.

JM - congratulations on the yoga class!

UniS · 08/10/2011 21:36

ohhhh, rum and black Envy did you REALLY like that when younger? Last time I had Rum I hurled, sure it was the rum not the several pints of cider I'd consumed beforehand.

Sorry your feeling glum Ldeer.

Scout19075 · 08/10/2011 22:38

What's the black of rum & black?

LD&M, I get the same way when MrScout has several late nights in a week. It's nice to have me time but a bit Confused at having to spend so much time stuck in by yourself. My problem is sometimes I have an opportunity to go out with some of Guiding friends and then, when the chance comes up, I can't be arsed to go out.

beanandspud · 08/10/2011 23:15

Blush Yes, I did enjoy it (Scout - the 'black' is blackcurrant cordial so a bit like alcoholic ribena).

Anyone still up?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 08/10/2011 23:17

Was someone offering rum cocktails?

::waggles glass, hopefully::

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 08/10/2011 23:18

Hello, bean. Is it you who has been admiring Jason Donovan's chest dancing prowess on Strictly? What did you think of tonight's show?

Scout19075 · 08/10/2011 23:20

Ooooh, I like Ribena! In fact, just about anything blackcurrant flavor. Never had it until my first trip to the UK, when I made a point of trying a new food or flavor every day of my trip, and have been hooked ever since. I go through Ribena concentrate by the bucket. Never thought of adding alcohol to it.....

beanandspud · 08/10/2011 23:27

Maud - yes, it was me (I?) although I haven't seen tonight's show yet. I am rather hopeful that he continues his form of last week (will I be disappointed?)

:: tops up glasses with rum cocktails ::

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 08/10/2011 23:30

::clinks glasses::

I missed the end of Strictly, Bean, as we went out to see Johnny English, but he was on smokin' good form. I'll watch the rest of the show tomorrow.

Blackcurrants are about the only soft fruit I don't like. Are they not eaten much in the States, Scout, or had you just managed to bypass them?

Scout19075 · 08/10/2011 23:34

Must admit to have never eat a whole/fresh blackcurrent. Blush So must just be the fake flavoring I like. Grin I had never seen/heard of a blackcurrant before coming here. Doesn't mean they're not there, just that I hadn't come across them before.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 08/10/2011 23:44

Well, that suggests to me that blackcurrants aren't much grown in the US, Scout. Maybe because you have the cranberry (much nicer, in my view) instead.
