Welcome aboard.

The first rule of the tea room is - No fisticuffs.
The second rule is - Put the kettle on and lets have a Brew or open a bottle of Wine if its that time of day. Pull a sofa and relax. Parents of one, more (or less) children are welcome to hop on board and chat about anything and nothing. Introduce yourself if new and if you name change give us clue please.

Hurrah for Botox! ( Never thought I'd be saying that but there you go![hgrin])

I haven't really got into Hallowe'en yet - I think miniThumb is still a bit young but when he's older I'd love to do some Hallowe'en parties - I love 'em! We're doing Hallowe'en craft at playgroup this week - making some spiders out of stripy pipecleaners and fluff balls with googly eyes. Very easy, but I think they look good - they're on my profile (including a fly, but we're not doing those - they are a bit more tricky) if anyone wants to see.

MT - hope your DH continues with the Karate!

I am trying to set up a women's badminton group here - but it's hard trying to find a place to play! They don't take it remotely seriously, people play in their back yards rather than properly on courts, but I'm hoping that the new Police Community Youth Centre might have the courts marked out and some nets. Have to get their number and ask because the damn place never seems to be open!

Jacksmania · 21/10/2011 15:05

Fishpants, I'm going to guess Kansas or Oklahoma.

Morning all. Grump, grump, grump. I loathe 6 am wake-up calls. What happened to the days when the kid used to sleep until 8???

Scout19075 · 21/10/2011 15:08

Colorado?

mistlethrush · 21/10/2011 15:09

JM, mc has NEVER slept until 8am. On a 'good' weekend we're lucky to push it round until 7am. 6.30 is more normal and 6.00 is not at all unusual. 5.30 is not out of the question.[hconfused]

Jacksmania · 21/10/2011 19:14

Oh g*d, mistle, I couldn't function. I am so the opposite of a morning person. Ironically I'm also not a late-night person. Confused

purpleknittingmum · 21/10/2011 19:36

Thanks all for the comments on my daughter, I will keep you up to date!

I quite like jammy dodgers, not my first choice of biccy, that is a ginger nut! Also like hob nobs, chocolate digestives, ooo nice ones! And those coconut rings! Was never keen on digestives as a kid but will have them now and then. Bit nippy tonight, think I will have a hot chocolate.

Well the in-laws will be here soon to take my OH and daughter to stay with them until Monday. They were going to get them tomorrow but decided to change the plans. Bit of a pain though, we have had to have an early tea, and she won't be home from Girls Brigade until 8ish. So, looking forward to the time to myself!

Scout19075 · 21/10/2011 20:22

JM, TS is like MC -- 6:30-ish is average. 7 a.m. is pure bliss. Today he woke up around 5-5:15 coughing and then was up for the day.

Scout19075 · 21/10/2011 20:31

Ohhh, proud Mom moment. Toddler said his first sentence this morning. Having wrapped his leg/foot in the telephone cord he said "Oh dear I 'tuck." Hahahhhhahaa!

Scout19075 · 21/10/2011 20:41

I don't like fried eggs but this is cool

beanandspud · 21/10/2011 20:44

Evening all!

Small Bean tends to be awake at 7am every morning. I do try to set his gro-clock for 7:30am at the weekends but he's not falling for that one and just lies in bed shouting out the time "Mummy it's seven-oh-two....mummy it's seven-oh-three...mummy it's seven-oh-four..." at which point I give in and bring him in with us.

We have been invited to a Halloween party next week but SB wants to go as a pirate so we will be improvising giving up and buying a costume tomorrow. I'm guessing it's ok to be a Halloween pirate?

Has anyone got any plans for the weekend?

purpleknittingmum · 21/10/2011 20:45

Cute first sentence!!

Scout19075 · 21/10/2011 20:51

We're at the in-laws this weekend to celebrate Toddler's birthday.

My PiL gave MrScout and I an ice cream maker for our anniversary. Grin Mmm, ice cream.

LittleDeerandMe · 21/10/2011 20:53

Just popping in to say hi. So, hi Grin. I haven't read back but I hope everyone is well. I have a terrible headache so am off to bed in a min. Off to a theatre festival tomorrow and Sunday so I'll be back in the tearoom again on monday. Bleargh, stupid head!

UniS · 21/10/2011 20:56

Nah- Uni Boy is teh creative one, who'd have thought that butterfly cakes should be coffee flavour with purple icing, sultanas for heads and cut up haribo for antenna. Just Hope the judges like coffee cake and small boy styleeee.

Whoooo Hoooo for scout- home for Thanksgiving, that will be fun.

Fishpants- Missouri? I tend to descibe Missouri as middle america in every way. BUT it is quite southern in some ways, and northern in others.

Waves to Amber.

Hurrah for behaving itself finger CMOT.

Boy is also quite excited about 31st, he wants to dress up as a ghost. That will be his 4th fancy dress costume in 4 weeks! NOT counting spider man, which is what he chose to wear to walk down teh road to play at a friends today. I spent the Baker day ( teacher training, kids not in school day fro teh non Brits) in the kitchen in a baking frenzy. 2 GF cakes, cheese scones, half way through shortbread but will cook it in the morning I think. Then with boy I "helped" him cook fairy cakes and cornflake cakes.

Noooooooo........ Not Derran Brown (again)!

Jacksmania · 22/10/2011 00:50

Oh dear I 'tuck --- that's cheered up an utterly shit day :o

What are some nice chocolate digestive biscuits? Whether I could get them here is another story.

Don't ask about today. Just an utterly shit mood day. I have raging PMT an evil demon inside me, I hate the world and everything in it, except DS, DH, and you all, and my mum... ok, well obv not the entire world then... and the pressure in my chest is just strangling me. I hate being this sad pathetic evil crappy broken version of me. I don't want DH to leave tomorrow because I don't know how I'm going to cope. Poor JB deserves a much better mum.

Jacksmania · 22/10/2011 00:51

Sorry, I shouldn't have posted that. It's just that today is a really bad day.

Thzumbazombiewitch · 22/10/2011 04:26

((((hugs)))) JM. You are the best mum for JB, because you are his mama - always remember that.

Scout19075 · 22/10/2011 07:00

Awwww, JM. Sad We don't think you're broken. MrJM doesn't think you're broken. And JB definitely doesn't think you're broken.

Thanks

Right, one package of chocolate digestives added to "shopping list for North America." My dad loves them so I always buy loads for him -- a couple of extra packages of them won't be noticed in the suitcase. Wink

Scout19075 · 22/10/2011 07:06

Electric keyboard free to good home. ARGH. MrScout should have never showed Toddler this. He now loves it and begs for it to be put out to be played ever time we come. And the standard background tempos seep into your brain and drive you mad. Toddler loves playing with the buttons and the keys and making music on it. But for the love of God make it stop! It's too early in the morning!!!

Scout19075 · 22/10/2011 09:04

Free to good home: One whiney toddler. It's been a rotten morning. Is it wrong to already want Wine?

Scout19075 · 22/10/2011 09:45

Free to good home: MrScout. No really good reason.

Thzumbazombiewitch · 22/10/2011 09:47

remember, the sun is always over the yardarm somewhere in the world - it certainly is here! :)

Thzumbazombiewitch · 22/10/2011 09:48

Send them both out for the morning to give you a break. Sometimes you need a break from both of them. I do, anyway (mine, that is, not yours!)

Scout19075 · 22/10/2011 10:04

I would but Toddler's poorly and just generally whingy. MrScout's grumpy because I wouldn't let him sleep (he slept a lot later than me but we kept going into the room so I could change TS who had an entire water bottle of drink before we even left the bedroom this morning). And me, I'm just grumpy. Might take myself out the craft shops this afternoon for an hour of me time.
