Welcome aboard.

The first rule of the tea room is - No fisticuffs.
The second rule is - Put the kettle on and lets have a Brew or open a bottle of Wine if its that time of day. Pull a sofa and relax. Parents of one, more (or less) children are welcome to hop on board and chat about anything and nothing. Introduce yourself if new and if you name change give us clue please.

I saw it ok, JM - he looks so cute asleep in his big cape! If Maud has gone to bed, she won't be able to check.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/10/2011 09:14

Yup, I can see it now. Aww to the max!

beanandspud · 15/10/2011 09:19

JM - what a cutie - he's lovely!

TW - so glad it's not just Small Bean!

Brew and [hbiscuit] on the deck!

UnSerpentQuiCourt · 15/10/2011 19:52

Very cute. One for his eighteenth birthday album, I think.

UniS · 15/10/2011 21:14

ohhh cute to snoozing haircut child.

The busy weekend is going OK so far. DH and MiL are out at DHs concert, I've just got boy into bed after watching evening carnival in nearby town.

Boy did well in the children's carnival, winning 2nd prize in his class ( wheeled vehicles, non crepe paper) , He then rode in the children's parade with out me next to him. He was near another mum who I know, her sons costumes didn't allow him any peripheral vision or use of his arms, so she was bit nervous in case he got bumped and lost balance. LOADS of kids from boys class at school saw him in parade and were screaming his name and pointing him out to families.

so- teh priest hole was behind teh archbishops picture alll along.... so where does that port hole with dangling rope ladder lead? UNiS decides to mount an expedition. UniS ties a piece of string to her belt and descends teh ladder.

Awwww cute!

Dh went to karate this morning. I told him to take the warm up easy. He came back and said that he actually enjoyed it. Which for his first go at it is remarkably positive!!!

MC was desperate to do a karate seminar this afternoon and so I had to take him to that.... managed to get the replacement yew bushes for the hedge I needed to during it which was good.

Hurrah for weekends going well for everyone so far! Mr and miniThumb have gone off fishing this morning. I am bound for the bath - a lovely relaxing soak, with my new book - ahhhhh. The spring weather appears to have finally decided to arrive so we might go out this afternoon, or perhaps I'll just potter in the garden, planting some of <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.com.au/imgres?q=proteus+flowers&hl=en&gbv=2&biw=1366&bih=663&tbm=isch&tbnid=r6IZrBER3Sp7NM:&imgrefurl=www.blipfoto.com/entry/1262384&docid=VYWbyESow4tIbM&itg=1&imgurl=www.blipfoto.com/uploads/52296/2011/20587701774e157adb3002c1.22462805.jpeg&w=478&h=640&ei=7g2aTq6zC8uciAfz55msAg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=796&vpy=285&dur=1624&hovh=260&hovw=194&tx=98&ty=157&sig=102662740498607264850&page=2&tbnh=138&tbnw=103&start=22&ndsp=20&ved=1t:429,r:10,s:22" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">these, which we bought from the Canberra Botanical Gardens some while ago and still haven't planted out Blush. Also more osteospermums - they grow really well here, I have lots of purple ones but I bought some white and yellow ones to plant in a pot. :)

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/10/2011 00:16

Oooh, osteospermums. They are short-lived here (even though there is one perennial variety, I think) but I love 'em. I have Thanks Envy.

Oh what a really fun day. We went to a pumpkin farm near us and spent most of the day there. JB wanted to do the hayride three times (and I definitely didn't mind!), there was a fire truck with lots of hunky young fire studs for kids and mums to look at, lots of baby animals, and the weather was just amazing. Deep blue sky, everything is still green but some fall colours in the trees, pumpkins everywhere... I took lots of pics, there are some new ones on my profile.

Scout19075 · 16/10/2011 09:46

YAY for lovely weekends!

We went "down south" into various parts of The Only Way is County. Went to a shop and I have decided that MrScout is a big softie when it comes to his Toddler. We all know the saga of Bunny (and how we have Creamy and Dopple as well). Well, MrScout found a teeny-weeny Bunny (and a small Creamy) and said, "oh, look, Toddler, BABY BUNNY!" and promptly handed it up to him (TS was on MrScout's back in the carrier) knowing full well we'd never get Baby Bunny back. He then persuaded TS to put the bunny into the basket I was carrying so "Daddy can by Baby Bunny for you." He spent the rest of the day asking "Where's Baby Bunny? Do you still have Baby Bunny?" What a sap. Toddler did spent a good portion of the rest of the day out-and-about clutching Baby Bunny in one hand and Bunny in the other (making them hop, kiss each other, kiss him, kiss us, etc).

Scout19075 · 16/10/2011 09:50

Awww, JM, he's soooo squishy!

Thzumbazombiewitch · 16/10/2011 10:08

awwww! Bless 'im! (MrScout that is![hwink])

Pumpkin time, hey? reminds me of Linus in the Peanuts cartoon strip. :)

Scout19075 · 16/10/2011 10:12

Oh, and we bought Chocolate Bunny for next spring's basket (Chocolate Bunny is VERY hard to find and the shipping costs can be stupid). We managed to distract TS from Chocolate with Baby Bunny.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/10/2011 10:25

Morning all!

Breakfast buffet on the poop deck!

Jacksmania · 16/10/2011 15:55

Um, I thought that was for functions other than breakfast Confused.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/10/2011 16:48

Um, I thought it just meant the exposed deck at the back [

Jacksmania · 16/10/2011 16:50

[hgrin] Don't mind me and my gutter mind [hgrin]

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/10/2011 16:57

Don't forget. I am English and so there is almost nothing apart from cake and Mellors I like more than a bottom joke!

CMOTdibbler · 16/10/2011 19:34

Well, we all know how Thomas goes Poop Poop !

DS had a playdate today with oldestchildofmany, whose parents have a totally enviable house - basketball courts, stables, paddocks etc with picture perfect children running round. While he was doing that, I took dpony for a lovely long walk Smile. It was nice to be on my own for a bit, dh being glued to rugby

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/10/2011 19:40

Is it enviable, Cmot, or is it Stepford?

::Would quite like a paddock that I could turn into an orchard emoticon::

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/10/2011 19:41

Oops. Hit post too soon. Meant to say I got my alone time by planting hundreds of bulbs in the garden, but I'm paying for it now.

::backache emoticon::

UniS · 16/10/2011 19:46

CMOT it may look enviable NOW while olderstchildofmany is a whippersnapper of 5 or 6... but in 10 years times... It'll be a war zone covered in teenagers and upside down bikes.

Boy is friends with nearlyyoungestchildofmany, the house is very, um, homely, full of socks and bits of train set and single rollerskates, their eldest is notquiteateenager.

Evening all!

We have also had a lovely day. Took DS to Thomas Land (we didn't tell him we were going until he woke up this morning and his face was a picture!).

Beautiful autumn day, blue skies, warm enough for just a cardi and ate lunch outside. Small Bean had a fantastic time - he tried so many of the rides and we have some great pics. He seemed so grown up - last time we went he was in nappies!

Maud - I also have hundreds of bulbs to go in and need to do them asap. Did all of the tubs yesterday and dug up the last of the beans and tomatoes.

CMOT - that sounds like a dream house - just without the hundreds of kids!

Anyone for Wine? The good news is that some of my travel days next week have been cancelled and I am at home for most of it which is a welcome relief.

CMOTdibbler · 16/10/2011 19:57

Oh, its enviable - they are doing the v large garden from scratch, started 4 years ago and still going. All designed around letting the children rampage around safely with lots of play equipment, like a wooded bit with an assult course thing etc.
Lots of upside down bikes - ds was whizzing round trying to do tricks on his. I think its nearly time for a new bike though - his legs are getting a bit long.

Scout19075 · 16/10/2011 20:10

I am a mother of one and I want a yard like CMOT's friend! Heck, I just want a yard where I can put a play house out for TS and hang laundry.

We went to the beach today and had a picnic lunch, a frolick on the beach/stones, teased the sea and had a cream tea at the NT cafe. Was a lovely way to spend the afternoon.

Wine?
