Who is yours? Your top rock god.

When you think of rock/metal who do you picture? Jimi Hendrix,Freddie Mercury,Ozzy,Mick Jagger etc. Not that it's restricted to singers of course.

third at least - kerrymumbles also!

opinionatedmother · 26/09/2009 00:12

yes - it's like you imagine preganancy erases your previous personality.

suddenly all those mad, bad and velvet clad rock chicks wear boden...

citybranch · 26/09/2009 00:14

I was in a band a few years back and we actually supported Machine Head, Fear Factory + a few other metal bands ...we had an album out and were unceremoniusly dropped and got nowhere! It seems ages ago now that i'm a mum of 2! But I have the bass guitars and tattoos to remind me of my hardrockin' days!

opinionatedmother · 26/09/2009 00:14

though i have difficulty fancying blokes in gimp masks.

opinionatedmother · 26/09/2009 00:16

if it makes you feel better citybranch there are plenty of blokes out there who did similar and don't have two kids or the contract/ rock n rol life.

citybranch · 26/09/2009 00:19

Haha I bought my DS his first Boden item this week! But we have a pic of him at about 6 months old wearing a Dead Kennedys shirt, so he maintains his rock cred. But i think I'M getting old and boring (at 26! )

opinionatedmother · 26/09/2009 00:26

dd wore 'i predict a riot' t-shirt courtesy of kind friend today

she loves Soundgarden

but the time of angst is over for me....

it is hard to listen to angsty rock whilst cuddling ickle babies.

TheHeadbangingWombat · 26/09/2009 11:35

AC/DC are no one's bitches.Not even Alice Cooper's!

I love Rammstein, but for me they only have demi god status.

their politics are slightly outre also.

anyone else fancy Billy Corgan?

he's not pretty but i lurve his attitude.

TheHeadbangingWombat · 26/09/2009 12:31

I have to add Lemmy. No sex appeal, obviously, but that isn't what makes one a rock god.

City Branch, (I'm boring and mumsy at 28 so don't worry)what were your band called? DH used to be in a Slipkont tribute band a few years back and I found the boiler suit the other day. DS listened to the knot, Soil and Disturbed etc etc whilst he was in the womb so is used to it.

I thought of Lemmy before but daren't get the puter out cos fat pointy, pokey, touch, touch fingers will be all over the keyboard.

LOL MetalMums unite!!!

Bellared · 26/09/2009 20:16

Is Val Kilmour sp? allowed in his Jim Morrison role? He was an uncanny resemblance to him and didn't he wear Jim's original troosers?

TheHeadbangingWombat · 26/09/2009 21:14

Val Kilmour? Nooooooooooo!

Bellared · 26/09/2009 21:30

Bellared · 26/09/2009 21:32

Bellared · 26/09/2009 21:34

There are many from about 20 years ago on this

Bellared · 26/09/2009 21:37

Jim seems to be in the lead.

TheHeadbangingWombat · 26/09/2009 21:39

Personally I wouldn't count Motley Crue as rock gods.
