When you think of rock/metal who do you picture? Jimi Hendrix,Freddie Mercury,Ozzy,Mick Jagger etc. Not that it's restricted to singers of course.

I heard that Robert Plant is really lovely and down to earth.
He had been on holiday somewhere and there was a delay with the plane but he shared his sandwiches and crisps with a family who had restless children.

That's a lovely story.

I prefer my rock stars down to earth.A big attitude and ego on stage is fine but I think it's better if it's toned down when they're not performing.

Not in my opinion--Alice would reign supreme over the rock gods. He's be the Rock Zeus up on Mount Rock Olympus.

The other rock Gods would be Alice Coopers bitches.

Hmm. Good thread. I am with LittleWhiteWolf on Alice Cooper (he's also really lovely on his planet rock show!).
And Jim Morrison, surely, laid the foundation for any subsequent rock-god-ness.

But surely there must be some young rock gods, as squishabelle says, i fear we may just be old farts and not aware of them. I'm going to think about this. I may need some more wine for inspiration. And an ipod....

Halfcut, obviously Gerard wins hands down on the sex appeal front, when I read the thread title I thought of him straight off. Though truth be told, he's a bit... nerdy to be a true god of rock, with his comic books, marriage & baby, and not drinking...

They are German and noisy but I really like them, especially loud to annoy the noisy neighbours who do DIY when DH has been on nights
