Who is yours? Your top rock god.

When you think of rock/metal who do you picture? Jimi Hendrix,Freddie Mercury,Ozzy,Mick Jagger etc. Not that it's restricted to singers of course.

It is late though. It's probably just me, I think most people look like other people .

That Break Free video is brilliant.

MammKernow · 27/09/2009 00:12

Argh. Just nipped out for a (evil) smoke before bed and a shouty owl scared me half to death.

BellaRed: my sis thinks we should invite JD and kids to DD's next birthday. DD has asked me to invite Anthony Kiedis. Of course i do personally know all these rock gods .

Think you are right about Queen too, iconic and hugely influential. But i also think that about Nirvana (ducks and runs)...

TheHeadbangingWombat · 27/09/2009 00:13

It is a great video, though the ballet bit is a bit odd. They had a lot of top videos though my favourite is the Innuendo video.

I'm going to add Rob Halford to my list.

Jim.... dave... and my other 'alf and err Eddie can 'ave some too!

Sixer · 27/09/2009 00:17

alrighter 2shoes?

Bellared · 27/09/2009 00:24

We'd be safe from Rob trying it on. Why hasn't he been mentioned before!

Yeah, invite JD and kids round they can provide a mini moshpit....

We have a shouty owl who lives across the road with a big falcon thing. Hooooooooooooooooooooot.

Queen were so influential. I remember listening to Innuendo when I had my tonsils out!

I'm going to sleep and to tell the dog off for running about upstairs.

TTFN!!!!

TheHeadbangingWombat · 27/09/2009 00:25

You're right he should have been mentioned long ago.

Goodnight Bella.

The god of Pomp Rock... what divine cheekbones!

Squishabelle · 27/09/2009 11:25

Captain - Agreed. He just has to be the 'young' rock god.

CaptainNancy · 27/09/2009 19:09

He's quite short though, isn't he?

Bellared · 27/09/2009 19:32

Thanks Wombat.

Is he REALLY short or just enough so you can boss 'im about?

AphroditeRocks · 27/09/2009 19:58

mmmmm.Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age

CaptainNancy · 27/09/2009 20:15

Apparently he's only 5' 7"... which doesn't do it for me- though he must be in proportion, as you can't tell from photographs.

AphroditeRocks · 27/09/2009 20:21

and Trent Reznor

AphroditeRocks · 27/09/2009 20:22

looking moody and lovely here

Bellared · 27/09/2009 20:26

5"7" is not that short! he he. I thought he was shorter than that!

Trent when he was younger? I saw him recently and he..... Ooh thats a nice pic of him!

ciforjif · 27/09/2009 20:30

Probably at bit late but...

Ian Astbury (The Cult)

Grant Nicholas (Feeder)

well I love them anyway!!

TheHeadbangingWombat · 27/09/2009 20:31

It's never too late.

opinionatedmother · 27/09/2009 20:52

much though i adore Muse, Matt isn't pretty enough to make a rock god.

rather like the vocally similar Thom Yorke -
Colin Greenwood might qualify. an axe monster on the quiet.

Jim Morrison was the rock god, Wombat .

Believe.

(though i'd forgotten about Trent, he is a bit of a hotty - i'll never forget seeing the largest buise of my life on the body of a co-worker who'd been to see NIN live)

Bellared · 27/09/2009 20:56

Can we count guitar gods too? Even though they might look odd they still rocked.

opinionatedmother · 27/09/2009 21:14

weel, brian may,

yes - intelligent and v. v. hunky.

already named Gilmour....

and here's colin

Bellared · 27/09/2009 21:32

Comedy/game face time from Paul Gilbert

Eddie Van Halen? Not my cup of tea but nice spandex. Ahem.

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 27/09/2009 21:35

Josh Homme looks like he should be playing rugby for ireland, not fronting a rock band.

Vote for Bellared's spin-off category of Guitar Gods, Slash would be my first nomination...

Did someone ask who Glen Danzig is? Only the founder of the Misfits - never that popular but hugely influential.

TheHeadbangingWombat · 27/09/2009 21:43

I did count guitar gods. I said Angus Young is my rock god and he's a lead guitarist. It doesn't just have to be singers. Drummers, guitarists and even bassists are all quite acceptable.
