ohh yy, like CSS, they are good. But parental control needed for some songs in front of children

MargaretMountford · 06/06/2008 19:38

oh yes - not for the ears of little ones !

fullmoonfiend · 06/06/2008 19:39

Gorillaz? they have 2 very fine albums of remixes etc which I am partial too.

asicsgirl · 06/06/2008 19:40

ha ha zippi, you're still more up to date than me! dp is into muse tho' i never quite 'got' them. tho' i did use to love strangelove!! (same kind of thing?)

several on your list ring bells - have heard bits e.g. editors, bloc party. must do my homework!

mm have heard of sleater-kinney and css tho not heard them. don't sl-k go back a while now? the guardian are v keen on css which is often a bad sign... will give them benefit of doubt as you have such sterling taste tho

I second MGMT (as mentioned by OverMyDeadBody further down)
their album is fantastic
[ electric feel is one of my favourite tracks]]
Time to Pretend is fab too though

CatIsSleepy · 06/06/2008 19:50

sorry that link didn't work

asicsgirl · 06/06/2008 19:51

ooh like the chinese gorillaz version!

I also love Bat for Lashes

OverMyDeadBody · 06/06/2008 19:53

you may also like Tunng. I discovered them at the Big Chill a few years ago.

CatIsSleepy · 06/06/2008 19:54

i like a bit of Hot Chip too

OverMyDeadBody · 06/06/2008 19:54

a better Tunng track

OverMyDeadBody · 06/06/2008 19:55

oh god yes, Hot Chip. Smashing band. Have seen them live a few times.

asicsgirl · 06/06/2008 19:56

oh yes bat for lashes! have been meaning to check out for ages. i can see i have to give that one a few listens. didn't like it at first but then that is my reaction to every new pj harvey album and thn i always end up loving them

CatIsSleepy · 06/06/2008 19:58

have you heard any Cut Copy OMDB? I read about them somewhere and keep meaning to have a listen, they are Hot Chip-esque I believe

OverMyDeadBody · 06/06/2008 19:59

no, I will look them up!

Of course, there is also the Almighty Radiohead with their new album, In Rainbows
