I just wanted to start a thread where fans can share their favourite things about George. Share video links, lyrics, rare footage. Tell us why you liked him. Have you met him? Share your memories. Anything really.

Please, no speculation about how he died here.

I bloody worshipped him from being about 12 years old. I remember liking Wham! music and hearing it at a youth club I went to, and then one day I saw his picture in my dad's Daily Star and it was LOVE! It was 1984.

I've just shared this clip on another thread, I think it's one of the sexiest performances I ever saw him do, I love the dance moves in this.

I'm glad it was what it was. The poor man can rest now

CeeBeeBee · 08/03/2017 11:55

I so wish that's Fadi would just keep a dignified silence rather than ranting about the way the media has treated him. Now is not the time.

LoveMySituation · 08/03/2017 17:18

Agree ceebee, though it can't be easy with the media constantly referring to Kenny as the love of George's life. He seems immature, or is coming across that way

CeeBeeBee · 08/03/2017 17:51

I suppose so. If reports are true then he's been treated as an outsider but I still think he should respect George and his family.

LoveMySituation · 08/03/2017 18:08

Yes-as you say, it's not dignified. And it makes it look like he has something to hide

Fresta · 09/03/2017 17:16

I'm so glad that George can finally be buried and we and his family and friends can move forward. It seems the family are to hold a private funeral and that is perfectly understandable. I can't see how any fan, no matter how big, could believe they have a right to attend, or even be in the vicinity. His family deserve privacy. George might have sought a life in the public eye, but they didn't. I have no desire to see pictures of the funeral, but I do hope they let the fans know when he has been buried so we know when he is at rest and hopefully we can all sleep more easily thereafter.

As for Fadi? I really can't make him or his relationship with George out. Maybe it's quite telling that none of George's friends have mentioned or acknowledged him in their twitter posts or in interviews?

The hacked twitter thing still seems v odd. However much you were not thinking straight due to grieving, surely you would not want anything like that on there, and you would be making sure(and making sure that the media knew) that it was dealt with properly. If it was true...

LoveMySituation · 11/03/2017 15:44

Some papers are saying he may be buried tomorrow. It needs to end. For everyone's sake

EachandEveryone · 12/03/2017 12:51

Yes I never ever thought I'd go to the house but I was on the bus this morning and I thought what the hell im two minutes away. It's very moving but I didn't hang around there are fans maintaining the area and they weren't very friendly! It's not at his house but the park in front. I'm assuming it's where the Xmas tree he paid for every year goes. RIP.

LoveMySituation · 12/03/2017 18:43

That sounds more like a protection racket EachGrin . They can't be real fans of George if they're unfriendly, he wouldn't allow horrible people to like him!

EachandEveryone · 12/03/2017 18:53

They were all north London Cypriots i couldnt help feeling like an outsider they were clearly incharge! Although when i walked passed later on there were alot more people there. It wont be allowed there permanently though will it? Kate Moss must be getting annoyed by now!

LoveMySituation · 12/03/2017 19:27

I thought I read that the carpet of flowers etc had been cleared away a while ago, but I've seen the smaller shrine that's there. Maybe it'll go after the funeral. The constant hordes of people must be annoying the neighbours though,(or maybe they're too rich to be around) like you said, it must be what the present owners of the Beatles ex houses feel like Grin

EachandEveryone · 12/03/2017 21:15

Poor Kate and Sting grin

I only realised today that the Flask is opposite ive been there loads of times. I wonder if he ever bothered going out? Appart from for a drive on a night! I went to Highgate Cemetery really fascinating place. Im going back again for a proper tour next week.

CeeBeeBee · 15/03/2017 21:04

I agree Fresta RE his funeral, yet someone has posted on FB how it's a shame that his funeral is being kept secret from his fans as she feels the fans should know because they made George. I very nearly posted something back but thought better of it. Fans will already be respecting him by respecting his family's wishes for privacy. His fans did not make George. George made George!

LoveMySituation · 16/03/2017 11:50

I do hope they tell us when it was though, after the event. I'd guess Mothers day. Wham are on TOTP 1983 tonight

Fresta · 16/03/2017 16:12

I doubt they perform funerals on mothers day.

I fear for his grave site though but i guess thats what happens. At least Highgate Cemetery will make some money its £10 to get in.

LoveMySituation · 16/03/2017 20:17

Don't see why not Fresta, it will be a Sunday after all

CeeBeeBee · 16/03/2017 20:24

Why day Mother's Day though? Is it particularly significant to George and his family? I'd have thought as soon a date is available for funerals.

LoveMySituation · 16/03/2017 20:31

I just thought as he was so close to his mum, but maybe we'll never know when it is/was

LoveMySituation · 16/03/2017 20:34

Via BBC4 live tweeting TOTP '83, I just found out who the little boy was in the Bad boys videoGrin

Fresta · 16/03/2017 20:34

I just didn't think they did burials on a Sunday.

Just googled Highgate cemetery and you're right Fresta, normal funerals only on weekdays. But this isn't exactly normal.

CeeBeeBee · 16/03/2017 21:00

Not normal because it's George Michael or because it's very late after his death?

LoveMySituation · 16/03/2017 21:10

Well both, but mainly as it's George, and if the cemetery was closed on a Sunday, there may be more chance of less people being around , or the media gatecrashing
