I bloody worshipped him from being about 12 years old. I remember liking Wham! music and hearing it at a youth club I went to, and then one day I saw his picture in my dad's Daily Star and it was LOVE! It was 1984.

I've just shared this clip on another thread, I think it's one of the sexiest performances I ever saw him do, I love the dance moves in this.

Some wonderful links, thank you. I absolutely loved the Aretha duet and still do. I think a lot of people at the time pigeon holed him as a "pop" singer and dismissed his real vocal talent but nobody could watch/listen to I Knew You Were Waiting and not acknowledge that he was very, very talented with a great voice. He puts so much real emotion into songs, I always felt.

Not that he biggest George Michael fan. But liked him, But they are holding a tribute, in a bar, 2 weeks time, on my birthday, so going, with a group of girls, bet it will be a scream,

Lucky me, I still have my original copy of Bare which I got for Christmas when it was first published. I also have Older, which is another biography and quite a few magazines which I have kept with interviews in. I also have a Wham! annual from 1984. Maybe they will be worth something in the future- not that I could part with them.

Wondering though why the mum is dressed up as in the 1940's at the start, George wasn't that old

I went all the way to Brighton to see the very first Wham tour, the one where they wore shorts and put shuttlecocks down their shorts. I would have killed to be Shirley.

I saw George when he guested at an Elton gig after they'd duetted.

Loved the Jonathan Ross interview. He was asked some very intrusive questions about sex and money but George handled them very well.
