Yet another thread for neurodivergent mumsnetters.

Lots of links in old threads.

Anyone is welcome, it's not just about autism.

Blog fest should be interesting, hope you enjoy it BDH.

Polter how exciting! How brilliant to have a clear goal in mind and go for it!

I've made an utter tit of myself at a school meeting, as usual could not say what I wanted to say and probably came over like a prat, and one of the teachers started to tell me all about the advances that have been made in the last few years.....
I'd love to think that there's a parallel universe out there, and that there's another me who is together, calm, and can produce sentences that say what was intended (rather than vaguely eloquent yet pointless drivel) and has DC who don't try to kill each other as soon as look at each other some nights.

I might channel Harry Potter and try to claim the under stairs cupboard.

Haha, Polter, this year has been all about sorting out my hypermobile joints, esp. feet, and my allergies, as well as getting my Diagnosis. My jaw dropped when I read a laundry list online of All the Stuff that is Wrong with Me as commonly coexisting with ASD. Good luck with them all :)

I'd love to go to New Zealand one day. It looks amazing.

Stretchiness is next to sperginess in my family.

autisticrat · 08/11/2016 23:28

My hunchkling is that there's some mitochondrial dysfunction in my family which results in variable expression of both stretch and sperge in family members with whom I share mitochondria. Me, my sib, my mum, her sibs, their mum - all autie as fuck idiosyncratic personalitywise, many stretchy, many with connective tissue differences like high myopia, strange hernia problems, oddities like congenital glaucoma, etc., - but mum's brother's kids? Boringly normal.

autisticrat · 08/11/2016 23:29

60 year olds are not supposed to W-sit.

autisticrat · 08/11/2016 23:49

None of us as yet has both ASD and EDS diagnoses, but they are definitely travelling companions in my family.

HerRoyalFattyness · 09/11/2016 07:25

DS1 is still not well. I have a really sore throat too. Ugh. I hate winter

BigDamnHero · 09/11/2016 07:43

Shock at the news this morning.

America,

What have you DONE???

Sincerely,

The rest of the world.

LauraMipsum · 09/11/2016 09:17

Everybody's being serious about the news and I just keep having to stifle laughter. How's everyone else's range of inappropriate responses this morning?

(I don't find the news funny by the way!)

BigDamnHero · 09/11/2016 09:32

After trying to get a straight answer out of his parents for days MIL has finally let DH know whether her and FIL will be stopping by here on their way back from New Zealand and when.

The answer? Yes...tomorrow! FFS.

Polter, Star

That's brilliant! Well done. Smile It's really nice to read something positive today.

RosaliesGinBottle · 09/11/2016 10:31

That's great news, Polter! Well done!

I'm completely shattered today. Yesterday started with my daughter being offered a place at our local school after over a year on the waiting list. While this is great news, I don't have to spell out how much stuff I have to get done and get over in the next week, do I?! At least I won't have the hijjus school drive to do any more :D. Then little un woke up every 1.5hrs all night, so I could watch the freight trein of fascism in stop motion. So I am bouncing from one state of horror to the other and am bingeing like a good un. Lists. Tea. Hot wheat bag. Lists. Focus. Fuckitall.

Oh and also, DH had a Bad Gland in his neck that they checked yesterday Just In Case it was Something Worse. Thank fuck it was just being Glandy and Sulky about the summer flu he had.
