  • My baby is 4 months and we choose size 3.
  • I felt that the sizes were larger than the brand we had been using so it gave us a little more room with size 3 so this was great! The nappies themselves were are so soft and made me feel really comfortable putting them on baby knowing they felt so lovely.
  • That they were soft and the lovely design. It has been so hot the last few days my baby has been in a dress and nappy or just a nappy and these nappies look so nice that we had a few comments from family members.
  • The weather nappies.
  • I think the chat idea is great, I work in Early Years and it is very important in a setting to talk to the children when changing nappies so I felt that this would have given parents and even practitioners something to talk to young children about. It's easy to forget sometimes and change nappies really quickly but talking to my baby about things in front of me made nappy changing much more positive, in my opinion.
  • Yes.

How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
Three months. Size 2

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

Very soft, nice size, not as absorbing as some brands. Missed the blue line

  • What did you like most about the nappies?
Softness
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
Stars
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
Not really. I didn't feel inspired to talk in a different way. But we do automatically chat during this time anyway
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend? Yes but not over some other brands.
Georgie11c · 23/04/2018 10:53

-How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
14 weeks old, size 3 (he’s a big boy but they were a little big!).

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I thought the design was jazzy, but I found them too bulky and not hugely absorbant. The soft outer material was soft against his skin but often felt damp to the touch.

  • What did you like most about the nappies?

They were very soft.

  • Which nappychat design did you choose?

Blue elephants and giraffes.

  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby

I did the first time I put them on but after that I didn’t... that said, I often make a game out of the animals on the pampers - we like the Fox best so we always hope for a Fox when we pull it out the bag. Perhaps differing designs in a pack would work better...

  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?

Probably not, they're not worth the price and I found them too bulky.

Mammyloveswine · 23/04/2018 11:17

My little boy was just 3 months when we trialled the nappies, size 3.

They were incredibly soft and i liked the animal friends design. I did think the premise was patronising "promoting storytime", as tbh my baby enjoys nursery rhymes and stories with his big brother.

The softness was a big positive to these nappies and we had no leaks.

I would recommend to a friend.

Navy123 · 23/04/2018 11:19

-How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
12 weeks, tested size 2

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Liked how soft they were and therefore quiet - couldn't really tell he was wearing a nappy! Quite liked the pictures although they could have varied between nappies so that they were more engaging. We also had some poo leaks - but then my LO likes to store up for a big explosion every few days and we haven't found disposables which contain them!
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
How soft they were
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
Animals
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
Used it the first couple of times so talk about the animals and what they might be doing, but as they were all the same the novelty wore off!
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
Not at the price currently showing on the site no. If they were brought more in line with others then yes.
Arwen1 · 23/04/2018 11:41

How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
Five weeks / size 2

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
They were smaller than the nappies I usually use - they rode down on baby's bottom which caused leakage.
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
The design
  • Which nappychat design did you choose? Stars and clouds
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
We talked about the weather
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend? I will be sharing these with friends who have small babies.
cornishmumtobe · 23/04/2018 13:06

I trialled the size 2 nappies for my (now) 10 week old baby. I think he is quickly outgrowing this size which is a shame! We had a couple of leaks to begin with but none for a while. The nappies are wonderfully soft. I didn't get the whole character nappy chat part - the characters don't change and I'm not creative enough to think of a different story every time while dealing with kicking legs and a poo bum!! They were way out of my price range too!

ShowgirlnamedLola · 23/04/2018 13:22

How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use? 12 weeks and size 2

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? I thought they were lovely and soft and the design was nice but I didn’t really get the talking to your baby about the nappy thing, and they are expensive
  • What did you like most about the nappies? They were soft and fit well
  • Which nappychat design did you choose? Animals
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby. I didn’t use it really - just chatted to my baby how I do usually
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend? Yes as they are soft and a lovely fit but they’d have to be prepared for the extra cost compared to supermarkets brand nappies

I also found the name Mum & You a bit frustrating as it seems to give my DH a free pass to get out of changing nappies!

My daughter is 7 months old and we used the size 3 nappies.
Overall I liked these nappies, they were thin and I particularly like the stretchy tabs as they make doing up the nappy easier. However when worn for longer periods, overnight for example they felt damp & you could feel this through her clothes.
What I liked best about the nappies was the softness & stretchy tabs.
I chose the animal design & did on a couple of occasions talk about the animals that were on the nappy.
I would recommend them but would pre-warn about the damp feeling.

Lentilbaby · 23/04/2018 15:31

Sorry....posted before answering any questions!
- How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
6 months Size 3

- What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Overall I thought they were good. They are lovely and soft, contained everything well (equivalent to Pampers) but the fit wasn't perfect on our slim, long DC.

- What did you like most about the nappies?
The fact they are biodegradable.

- Which nappychat design did you choose?
Stars and clouds

- Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
We didn't use the designs in this way although DC was always quite excited at the sight of the nappies

- Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
I would recommend trying them but I think most people would be put off by the price.

Bazby123 · 23/04/2018 15:42

My Baby is 24 weeks and We used size 3. I really enjoyed using the nappies, i found them really soft and good quality and i loved the Design. The only issue is the price It is to much for my Budget. I liked the softness and fit of the nappies the most. The Design i had Was the weather. I talked to him about what Was on the nappies. I would recomend these nappies to others.

  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
7 weeks and size 2
  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
I thought they were lovely and soft and liked the stretchy tabs. I was surprised how absorbent they were considering the fact they are smaller and don't come up as high as other brands so expected there to be leaks at the top but we didn't have any. I missed the blue line to show how wet they are. I found I changed too early a few times because nappy felt bulkier underneath but when changing found it wasn't as wet as I thought.
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
The softness and the fact they are eco friendly
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
Blue animals
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
No, he was too young but imagine I would do if he were older
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
Yes I would. I don't mind the fact they are more expensive than other brands because I like the eco friendly aspect - I think that is a good selling point that could be expanded on, for example bio degradable packaging rather than plastic.
Weemargaret · 23/04/2018 19:30
  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
My baby is 4 months old and we received the Size 3 nappies
  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
I thought they seemed very high quality and were soft on her skin. they seemed to be very absorbent and I was overall very pleased with them. They were a bit small on her considering they were Size 3s as she usually wears a Size 2 nappy which is only starting to become tight. This wasn't a huge problem though. We had no leakage throughout our trial period and my baby had no red skin or any other reaction to using the nappy.
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
I liked the designs on them a lot as it made them different from other nappy brands. I liked their quality which was good and that my baby seemed to be very comfortable in them. Even when very wet eg after a night's sleep, her skin would still be dry and the nappy wouldn't be saggy like they can be when wet.
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
I received nappies with stars, moons and clouds on them.
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
I didn't use them with the baby who wore them no, I think she is too young to be interested and it is difficult for her to see them when you are putting them on and also while she is wearing them. However, I did show my older DS who is 3 and this made him more involved in nappy changes.
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
Yes I definitely would due to the high quality and because they are different from other nappies due to the pictures on them.

Thank you for letting me try them, both me and DD enjoyed them!

Lilypad78 · 23/04/2018 21:07

My daughter is 6 months old & we used the size 3 nappies. My first impressions were that the nappies felt nice & soft but thinner than our usual ones. I liked the designs (we picked the animals) & thought they were cute & different. I disliked that they didn't have a wetness indicator on them & I found they leaked a couple of times, mainly during the night which happens occasionally with other nappies if she sleeps through. However they leaked once in the daytime when she had only been wearing it a couple of hours & it was fastened securely so I was not happy about that. I most liked how soft they were. I tried talking to her about the different animals, she lays quite still so i usually spend some time chatting to her during changes, blowing raspberries on her feet etc but felt silly making up stories. However my older DD loves animals & has lots of imagination so I got her involved instead which was nice. I probably wouldn't recommend them due to the leakage & how expensive they are. If they were priced the same as my regular brands I may buy them occasionally for a change.

isitfridayyet1 · 23/04/2018 22:10

How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

My son is 8 months old and we used size 3 nappies. He is quite small for his age so these are the size that fitted him.

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I like the fact that they are hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested as my son has sensitive skin, this is always a concern when I try new nappies with him. He didn't have a reaction with these so this was a positive factor. I also like the fact that they are responsibly made as protecting the environment is important to me.

Unfortunately the nappies leaked when we used them overnight, so they didn't last up to 12 hours for us. They also leaked during the day even though we change his nappy more often during the daytime.

.

  • What did you like most about the nappies?

That they are hypoallergenic.I also liked the designs the characters are cute. The nappies are also very soft, in comparison to say Aldi own brand or even Pampers. Nappy chat is also a good idea, although there are designs on some other nappy brands nappies i'd never thought of using the designs as a topic to speak to my baby about.

  • Which nappychat design did you choose?

The blue nappies with the animals on it.

  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby

I pointed out the animals and spoke about each of them naming them all. As we were planning a trip to the zoo, it tied well into that also.

  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
Although I like the designs and the company ethos I wouldn't recommend them as they leaked and my son was quite a few pounds off the maximum size that they fit so I didn't expect this to happen. Non - leaking nappies is a must as sometimes especially when out and about and at nighttimes.
newmummalion · 24/04/2018 16:20
  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

My baby is 5 months old and we used Size 3 .

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I had a good overall impression. I like how soft and flexible the nappies are. The designs are very cute. They seemed secure and didn't leak, other than on a couple of particularly explosive situations! A wetness indicator would be great.

  • What did you like most about the nappies?
I mostly liked how comfy they looked.

Which nappychat design did you choose?

We had the blue one with the animals on.

  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby

I didn't make up stories as such but did show him the animals a couple of times!

  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?

If a friend wanted a more environmental friend nappy but wasn't keen on reusables, maybe. Other than that I don't think they stand out too much from the usual disposables, especially considering the difference in price. I will probably stick to my reusables.

sparechange · 24/04/2018 17:23
  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use? 3 months, size 3
  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Found they leaked quite a lot and the designs showed through clothes The sizes don't correspond with sizes for other nappy brands, which was confusing. I'm using size 2 in other brands but needed size 3 in these
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
Eco-credentials, very soft
  • Which nappychat design did you choose? Blue animals
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
We chatted about what noises the animals make, which countries they live in and what else we would see if we went on holiday to those countries
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
Maybe. I don't know if the leaks were because of my baby being in the wrong size or because they are leaky nappies
Tralala33 · 24/04/2018 17:49

How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

6 weeks, size 2

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

Very positive. I liked that they were very soft and felt like a good quality, premium brand.

My son grew out of them very quickly, i felt they were a bit small than my usual brand.

  • What did you like most about the nappies?

The softness.

  • Which nappychat design did you choose?

Animals

  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby.

I didn't as he is too young and i want to change his nappy quickly.

  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?

Yes.

QueenEnid · 24/04/2018 22:21
  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

My son is 4 months old and we use a size 3

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

The design of the nappies is nice. Different from others on the market and fun with the animals and the colour.

I liked the slimness of the nappies. I didn't feel they were bulky at all.

I disliked the fact that I could feel the warmth through them when my son was having a wee! I didn't get any leaks though. It was just the warmth!

  • What did you like most about the nappies?

I liked the design as it's different to those already on the market. I liked that they were slim and not too bulky. For the most part they were leak free which is good, although we did have a couple of leaks around the legs.

  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
Giraffes
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
The design didn't prompt anything for me but it would be a good talking point.
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
Yes.
lookingformyleopard · 25/04/2018 15:14
  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
2 months, size 3
  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
I quite liked them, they are the softest disposable nappy I have come across. They were excellent for wee containment, not so great for breastmilk poo though, we had many, epic leaks. I liked the designs, the graphics were much more like reusables in quality. The blue colour though was a little annoying in practice as it was harder to tell if it needed changing. I wasn't that keen on the brand name either; my husband does more nappy changes than me at the moment, it's a bit ridiculous calling them Mum & You
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
The softness, the graphics, eco friendly.
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
The animals on blue background
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
Not really. I thought that was the weakest aspect of the nappies tbh, it seemed a bit contrived and unnecessary. I didn't get any flashcards though which were mentioned on the website; i don't know if that would have made a difference.
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
Only to rich ones!
toteswingingit · 25/04/2018 19:36
  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
4 months, size 3
  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
I liked the design, the slimness of the nappies and how soft they were. However, we had a fair few leaks after the first few days (wee and poo) and so I stopped using them as we were going through multiple clothes changes each day.
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
I liked the idea behind them and the design
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
Blue animals
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
I didn't talk about the designs with the baby.
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
Initially I actually did, however after the leaks I haven't since. Not sure if they were a strange fit on my LO, the fit seemed fine but we still had a number of leaks so ultimately no, I wouldn't recommend.
Willowwisp23 · 26/04/2018 16:28
  1. DD is 9 months and we used the blue design, size 3 nappies.
  2. The nappies were very soft and felt good quality. Unfortunately my dd's clothes were damp and needed changing a lot as the nappies leaked.
  3. The feel of the nappies was lovely and I'm sure they felt lovely against my dds skin.
  4. We chose the blue animal design.
  5. I did not talk to my baby about the nappy design.
  6. I probably wouldn't recommend as they leaked during nearly every use. My usual cheaper brand does a better job.
OrdinaryGirl · 28/04/2018 11:17

I didn't test these, but wouldn't buy any baby product called 'Mum & You', purely on the basis of the name insidiously assisting with reinforcement of unhelpful stereotypes.

A 'little' thing like its name seems trivial but when taken together with all the other goods and services that by their names or images leave men out of childcare altogether, Mum & You just contributes to a really negative cumulative cultural impact.

Lauren83 · 30/04/2018 21:40
  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

We had size 3 blue animal design and he is 15 weeks

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I loved the fact they looked more interesting than normal nappies and had comments at crèche on how nice they were, they were lovely and soft although I felt there was lots of padding at the front but not much at the back, I know this is great for boys with wet nappies but we had the worst dirty nappy in 15 weeks with these as it went straight out the back. Whilst his wet nappies never leaked, whenever he had gone ( and I change him every few hours in the day) his clothes were always damp in these nappies as it seemed to seep through though fabric

  • What did you like most about the nappies?
The fact they were free :)
  • Which nappychat design did you choose
Animals
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
We didn't, we live in a house with lots of pets and read often so I didn't use nappy change as a chance to talk
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
For someone who feels strongly about the ethics behind them maybe but for us mums wanting a nappy within budget that doesn't mean outfit changes then no, sorry

Thankyou for the chance to test them
