  • My DD is 6 months old, weighs 15lb and we used size 3s
  • The nappies felt really soft, very little rustling when getting them out. They were a good fit on my baby, and the sticky tabs worked well. They lasted us well - used them overnight for at least 10 hours a go and they were fine. No leaks at all.

My husband was a bit disappointed there was no wetness indicator (which doesn't bother me). They do seem pricey though. I dont mind paying a bit more for an eco-friendly option but wouldnt pay the full asking price for these. I'm also not keen on the brand name.

  • I most liked that the nappies were soft and leak-free, and the eco-friendliness.
  • We had the animal design (animals beat weather hands down!)
  • I showed my baby the nappies and pointed out some of the animals but that was about it. I didn't make up any stories or rhymes based on them and think it is a bit of an odd concept. Also my baby is usually too busy trying to roll off the changing mat to listen to me blahing on.
  • I would recommend to a friend if the price was cheaper. We use cloth nappies normally and have disposables for the changing bag when out and about, so would consider using them for this if they were a reasonable price.

-How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
5 months old, size 3.

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

Overall I didn't like them. They felt too thin and flimsy, whenever my DC did a wee I could feel the warmth soaking into the nappy as I held them which was really unpleasant. They didn't cope very well with poos, I have had to throw away a lot of vests due to so much poo leaking up the back that they were ruined.
They are far too expensive, they are at least 3 times more expensive than Asda or Aldi which are my usual brand.

  • What did you like most about the nappies?

They were very soft but to be honest that isn't something that overly concerns me as DC hasn't seemed uncomfortable in any other nappies.

  • Which nappychat design did you choose?

Blue elephants and giraffes.

  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby

I didn't.

  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?

Probably not, they're not worth the price.

  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
My baby is 12 months and I used size 3
  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
I liked that they were really soft and lovely design.
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
I liked the design.
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
Animals
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
I didn’t use it to talk extra, we’re usually just trying to pin him down.
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
Yes, they suited us well with no leaks or problems.
NurseKeegan · 17/04/2018 11:48
  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

Max is 6 weeks old and we tested the size 2.

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

From the outset it was very positive. I was immediately impressed by how soft they were. Unfortunately, I feel the leaking issues we experienced were far too frequent. We experienced leaks even when the nappy was on for a short time (2-3 hours) and this was with the nappy being fastened correctly.

  • What did you like most about the nappies?

The fit and feel of the nappies were incredible. Very well cut and so SO soft! I’m also very impressed that they are biodegradable.

  • Which nappychat design did you choose?

We chose the animal friends design.

  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby

Myself and my daughter used the designs to make changing Max’s nappy more enjoyable. It was a great way to help my toddler get involved and allowed her to bond with her new brother.

  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?

I would love to, but I don’t think I could due to the frequency of the leaks we experienced.

  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

6 months, size 3

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I found they were very soft which was nice although I'm not sure they were as absorbant as others I have tried. They did seem to "bulk up" a lot quicker and my baby would need changing sooner. I don't think we had any major leakage other than a couple of monster poos which started to leak out of the leg area.
I prefer to have a colour changing strip that indicates wetness and this was missing. Also it can be difficult to see which way around they go.
The name seems a strange choice in this age of equality as obviously it's not only mums who change nappies. It's good that the company is set up by a group of mums though.

  • What did you like most about the nappies?

Definitely how soft to the touch they were and they were an attractive design. I wouldn't mind them being seen under a pretty dress in the summer.

  • Which nappychat design did you choose?

Silver and her friends in the sky (stars/clouds)

  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby

I did initially as felt it was part of the trial. I didn't receive flash cards and only found out their names from looking at the website. I mainly just sang nursery rhymes that matched up with the pictures, e.g. Twinkle, twinkle, rock a bye baby (when the wind blows). I don't think I would normally talk about the design though.

  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?

After seeing how much they normally cost I probably wouldn't as don't feel they are superior to other brands to justify the cost.

SparkleTea · 17/04/2018 12:36
  • My son is 6 months old and we used the size 3 nappies.
  • Fabulous feel, very soft and lots of cushion. Great design with the animals on, also didn't leave any marks on my son like other brands do.
  • The fact that they did not cause my son to have any skin irritations from them that he gets from other brands.
  • We chose the blue animal ones.
  • We didn't chat about them but i pointed out the animals he liked to grab them because of the bright colours.
  • WI have already recommended them to a number of friends who have recently had babies.
justmetwice · 17/04/2018 13:42
  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

3 months and used size 3

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

Very soft and the colours.

  • What did you like most about the nappies?
How soft they were.
  • Which nappychat design did you choose? Animals
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
I just pointed out the different animals sometimes. But not something I did every time.
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
Yes... Though I would not be willing to pay more than what I currently am.
Mimib789 · 17/04/2018 17:38

My preemie baby girl is nearly 6 months old (corrected 14 weeks) tried the size two nappies.

The first thing you notice is the beautiful design of each nappy. If you're stuck for ways to calm an antsy baby who doesn't want to be changed at that moment the designs certainly provide something to ooohhh and ahhh about and act as a much needed distraction. I enjoyed making up tales about the giraffe and elephant on the front of our trial pack.

The nappies themselves are much softer than other brands and helps you feel as though you really are being kinder to sensitive new born skin as well as helping the environment.

I would definitely recommend these nappies and buy them .. especially if they were competitively priced.

Thank you for letting us be your guinea pigs! :)

  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
Baby is 5 months old and we used size 3
  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
I really liked the design of the nappies and the packaging. However, there was so much text on the pack promoting using the nappies to tell stories and bond with the baby at nappy change time that I was expecting there to be something special and unique on the nappies, but they turned out to be the usual random jungle animals that seem to feature in every brand of nappy. A bit of a disappointment after so much 'hype' on the packet, but the colours were nice and made it easy to differentiate between DD and DS's nappies in the changing bag as they are usually the same colour despite being different sizes.
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
I love that they are biodegradable, but my nappies are collected by the council as a seperate rubbish collecting so I assume they're burned anyway?
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
Animal friends. I liked that they were colourful
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
I didn't. My baby is too young to need to be distracted by stories at nappy time, and we read books at other times in the day. I think that for the nappychat gimmick to work the nappies should at least feature 3 or 4 designs per pack. This would then open conversation like 'ooh, i wonder what animal will be on the nappy today? What colour will it be? What noise does out make.' Same exact pattern everytime is a bit boring despite the nice colours.
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
I would recommend them as they were nice to use and didn't leak. BUT other than being biodegradable there is no real performance difference between these nappies and my current 2 favourite brands which are Asda Little Angels and Aldi Mamia, which are about a third of the price so I would also be recommending those.

  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
My baby is 4 1/2 months old, we used the size 3 on her.
  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
I liked the design, the softness and the eco credentials of them.
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
The softness and the cute designs, some relatives commented that they were very cute designs! I'm not sure I've come across another nappy that is so soft that is disposable.
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
We had the blue ones with animals all over them, cats, giraffes etc.
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
I didn't talk about the nappy chat characters very much but it did encurage me to talk to my daughter a lot more, to sing to her and point things out in the shops or when we go for walks. I think it's encouraged me to be more interactive at nappy change times.
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
I would recommend them as they withstood a few messy poos and they didn't have a funny chemical smell like some other nappies.
Cheekyandfreaky · 17/04/2018 19:30

I want to start by saying I loved these nappies.

How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
My baby was 5 months and she had size 3.

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
I liked the design, how soft they were, the fact that they were pretty much leak proof. My husband moaned that the tabs weren’t sticky enough.
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
The design- so cute.
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
The blue animal ones.
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby?
I would let her hold them whilst I cleaned her and talk about the animals.
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
100% yes.

  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

I liked the soft feel and the nice design. I didn't dislike anything.
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
They kept her dry overnight - incredibly important! Felt nice and soft.
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
Stars
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
I found the design a good reminder to chat/sing using the pictures. I think my toddler son would have enjoyed looking at the pictures.
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
Yes. However they are expensieve but do the job
Sooner · 17/04/2018 21:22

How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
4 months size 3

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Loved how spft they felt and very good quality. They seem v comfy on my baby as stretch well. I like that they state they're better for the environment as well. I think it would be useful to have the size number on the nappy.
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
So soft!
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
Sky friends
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
I talked a bit about what the characters were but to be honest I always chat to my baby about things while doing a change so dont feel the need for a specific story pattern.
  • Would you recommend these nappies
I would depending on price
Punkyinpink · 17/04/2018 22:10

My baby is 4 months old we used the size 3 nappies with the moon and stars on. we were transitioning from size 2 -3 and honestly I was shocked at the difference in size between the two when it comes to bulk. my first impression of the nappies was that they are a lovely pattern, nice and cheery, and really thin.

The only issue I have really had with these nappies is leakage. I know it happens regardless of the nappy brand and previous leakages have shown that only they have been up the back poos which seem like a rite of passage into being a parent. no these have been one of a kind (happened 3 times now) leakages. poo down the leg. I mean POO DOWN THE LEG! one of which happened in public but the locations are not what bothers me, just that these are the only nappies I have ever used with the massive amount of leg leakage now if that's an issue with them being too big for her (shes currently 14lb 7oz) then so be it but she's outgrown her previous brands size 2. when I say leg leakage I mean it looked like I forgot to put the nappy on one side straight down the leg. These are also the only nappy I have used which has resulted in the sleeping bag being damp after a nights sleep (8-11 hours).

During our changes we often sing 'twinkle twinkle' as over her changing table is a soft mobile of clouds and stars so the pattern did remind me to sing that. but as others have said it would be best if they were nursery rhymes or something of the ilk to get that ball rolling a little easier.

now would i recommend?
I need to test these against the brand I had for size 2 before I can give an honest answer there. on price alone I would have to say no as neither myself or my mummy friends are well off enough to afford over 30 pounds a month on nappies alone. (my current brand is roughly £3 for a bag of 56 and we have had no leakage issues) so as a household on a budget we would not be making a change. But if I do make any more affluent friends at my baby classes etc then I would recommend to them as they have been a decent nappy after a few teething problems so to speak.

  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
My son was 2.5 months when we trialled these nappies. He currently wears size 2.
  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
The nappies are really soft, and do not rustle which is great. The pattern was quite interesting too. Unfortunately compared to the pampers size 2 we are using, these looked a lot smaller.
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
They were soft.
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
Animal print
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
Loved the idea, but very hard to action. Would be better if nappies had a first line of a rhyme or story which we could continue.
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
Unfortunately not, my. They failed to contain the top of my son's bottom and had to keep pulling them up. And they leaked up his back twice (after trying just 3). I don't think the sizing is right, as the pampers size 2 still fit right.
Coffeecoffeebuzzbuzzbuzz · 18/04/2018 11:41

How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

My baby is 16 weeks and we tested size 3 nappies.

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Overall I was impressed. They were soft and of good quality. I liked the patterns. However, they did leak a couple of times and having checked on the website the cost is very high.
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
The softness and the pattern.
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
The stars pattern.
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
I tend to chat to my baby when changing her nappies anyway, but did use the patterns a couple of times. My four year old also talked to her about the designs.
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
Yes, if the cost was acceptable
Spitzbergen · 18/04/2018 11:41
  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
My baby is 11 weeks old and we tried the size 2 nappies.
  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Firstly they were so soft! I had been using a mixture of different brands and found them to be the softest. I liked the cut of them and the pattern. I like the wetness indicator also.
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
Definitely the softness. Am my son didn't leak at all which is a bonus
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
We chose the green packet with the animal print on the nappies. So cute.
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
I always talk to my baby when changing his nappy as he is starting to laugh. I joked about peeing on the giraffes head and other silly stuff. My five year old thought they were cool.
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
Yes I would. And I will be purchasing more for myself. Although the next size up. Cheers.

Hi

Dd is 15 weeks and we tested size 2 nappies.
Overall impression was good. Loved the design and the colours. We tested the weather ones. Disliked the lack of wetness indicator.

TakingItInMyStride · 18/04/2018 11:59

My baby is 6 month and in size 3 nappies. However I got send out size 2 nappies. Anyway I put one of the nappies on to see what they were like. They have a beautiful design and were nice and soft. I will have to keep these nappies for my next baby. Thanks for sending them though! Grin

MadeForThis · 18/04/2018 12:01

Baby kicked phone!! Ooops

Liked the size most. We usually use Lidl nappies and these are much larger than their size 2. Colour of nappies is also great.

Used weather design.

Didn't use nappy chat at all. And don't think I would with an older baby/toddler either. Same design on every nappy in the pack. Would need a lot more variety to continue to use them for stories.

I would recommend for design and quality but not at that price.

Bez33 · 18/04/2018 12:04
  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
7 months, size 3
  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Really loved the nappies. Nice feel - very soft and silky. Design was lovely. Seemed to be a comfy fit, not at all bulky but kept her dry.
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
The super soft feel.
  • Which nappychat design did you choose? The blue nappies with elephants , giraffes and cats on.
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
Ahh yes I did! I would say something like ‘do you have a kitty on your nappy?’ As I showed her them before putting it on.
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend? Yep, really happy with them.
LoobysMummy14 · 18/04/2018 12:05

My baby boy is 3 and a half months and weighs 15lbs we use the size 3. We loved the softness of the nappies and everyone commented on how lovely the design was, although being 3 and a half months there is only so much You can chat about with him at nappy time as sometimes he can be quite distressed (doesn't like being naked 😁) the nappies fit really well and seemed very comfortable. They worked really well during the day, the night time was a completely different story but I think that is due to him sleeping through quite long periods and he seemed damp when I did change him in the morning.
We had the animal design (unsure of correct name) They are quite expensive for nappies, however we liked the eco-friendliness of them. I would recommend to friends and family who didn't have such a big wetter :)

Elbbob · 18/04/2018 12:12

My baby is 10 weeks old and we used size 2 on her - she is 4.2kg.

My overall impression was the the nappies are lovely and soft but caused leaks at the back as they are not high enough. They are about 2-3cm shorter than size 2 Pampers which we normally use and which don't leak. They also don't have the wetness indicator which I rely on so that was a disappointment.

I most liked the softness.

I chose the weather design. I did not use the designs to talk to the baby. I found it odd that this was meant to be a USP for the nappies - all nappies I have used have some sort of picture on them and the baby doesn't see the nappy anyway, even if I showed her the nappy I doubt she'd be able to see the design as it's so pale. I was a bit confused as I thought the nappies came with flash cards but maybe that's bigger packs? Anyway I didn't think there was anything special about the designs, they are cute but not a reason to specifically buy the nappies. I talk to my baby during nappy change about what I am doing, her clothes, our plans for the day, make up songs about her toes etc etc so not at a loss for things to talk about.

I wonder if the nappies would be better for a toddler given the designs. But I am not particularly convinced this is really a selling point. I would not recommend generally due to the price, however if someone was having problems with reactions to nappies I would suggest trying these as they are so soft. And they do trial packs which is a good idea.

My thanks though to Mum & You for letting me try the nappies.

  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
DS is 19 weeks using size 3
  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Very soft, nice and thin and a lovely design. I would have liked them to include a wetness indicator and with DS being a boy most of the wetness happens at the front so the front could have been a little more absorbent.
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
The design and softness
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
Weather
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
Talking about the types of weather and having older DD make up actions for them
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
Possibly for a girl but not for the current price

Nappy testers

  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

My baby is 12weeks old, 10lb13oz we used size 2 nappies.

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

The nappies overall were okay. We liked that they were soft and russtle free, and feel fluffy rather then compacted like some other nappies.
The nappychat element didn't really interest us very much as I usually sing songs that she's familiar with from our different playgroups.
The stretchy-ness of the waistband on the nappies was impressive, and they fitted well. We did have a few 'poo-nami' incidents though unfortunately both up the front and up her back.
We are devotees of the blue line indicator, I missed that on these nappies.

  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
After using the nappies, I'm looking forward to going back to the ones we used to use from a discount supermarket. I appreciate that these nappies are bio-degradable, but the difference in price is startling. We recycle our disposable nappies through our council refuse collections, I wouldn't go out of my way to pay the extra for these nappies. I would only recommend these nappies if they were comparable on price with other nappies.
