Completely agree Well. It really wound me up. DH just found it funny, joked it was the green light for him to never do a nappy change again if we continued with these.

  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

My baby is 7 months old and we used the size 3 nappies. They fitted a treat.

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I really liked the Mum and You nappies. The soft feel was lovely and the great fit was really impressive. I liked the characters printed on them too.

  • What did you like most about the nappies?

The fit, the softness and the ability to hold in some impressive explosive poos. I really love that they're eco-friendly too.

  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
The blue design with animal characters
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
I named the animals and made animal noises for him while changing him.
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
I really would, we had no leaks, the nappies felt great and got really well. The only downside is the price point for us.

Thank you for letting us test them.

My daughter Lottie is 12 weeks old so we tested the size 2 nappies
My overall impression of the nappies is positive. Overall we really liked the design of them, the size was a great fit for Lottie and the material is really lovely and soft. You don’t get any hard edges and the material isn’t crinkly at all so late night nappy changes are much easier to do! The only thing I would say is that the material is so soft that with a wriggly baby, the nappy slides quite a lot on the changing mat but that wouldn’t stop me from buying them
We loved the material and how soft it was
We chose the animal design nappies which my 4yr old daughter was really interested in!
We used the animals are starting points for her during nappy changes and always had one out for her to look at as a distraction whilst changing her!
I would definitely recommend these nappies and will be buying them instead of our usual brand.

UpAllNightYawn · 13/04/2018 13:40

My baby is 10 weeks old and we used the size 3 nappies. They were lovely and soft, with a nice design. They were also a lot thinner than our usual brand so didn't make her bum look so big! We did experience leakage in odd places, especially with wees which is unusual! I loved the softness. We used the pink and green ones, can't remember what design name it was. I didn't really use the tools to talk to my DD, but I did tell her how lovely they felt etc. I would recommend them if someone was overly concerned with a eco friendly nappy, but warn them of the possibility of leakage!!

  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
6 months, size 3
  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
The nappies were extremely soft and had a nice design. They weren't too bulky either. I found the size 3s a little on the small side but we did move up to size 4s shortly afterwards. The sticky tabs were definitely better than some of the cheaper nappies we've used that don't re-stick. Would be good to still have wet/dry colour change.
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
Definitely the feel.
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
The ones with stars.
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
We talked about how pretty they were and how all the characters were happy
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
Yes definitely.

19 weeks old / size 3 / animal design

My first impressions of these nappies was really good - I loved how soft they felt, and how they weren’t crinkly.

I was most impressed with their eco credentials, made from wood pulp, amazing!

The designs were cute but didn’t make me talk anymore to baby to be honest as we already chat a lot.

The first night I realised it was a good job our son wasn’t sleeping through, as they definitely needed changing part way through the night. They never felt like they would hold a full night of wee, and the front often felt damp when I went to change him, like it could seep through. The smell also came through more than our usual nappies.

Our son slept through for the first time this week, and sadly the nappy did leak.

He also seems to have gained a rash around the nappy line at the front.

I did however, really like them apart from the above points!

  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
1 month, size 2
  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Like: Nice designs. Soft and comfortable. Dislike: No blue line to show when they are wet. Some leakage at night. Other: We struggle for all nappies that they are very wide on our skinny long boy but we need a larger size for capacity. The name is silly, his Daddy does nappy changes just as much as I do.
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
The soft fabric
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
Blue animals
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
We barely noticed them, the nappies are under a vest and babygrow, we just get the fresh one on as quickly as possible
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
No, we prefer Asda or Aldi nappies. I wouldn't dissuade anybody from buying them if they liked them though as there are no major issues. The designs would be nice and more appropriate for toddlers, maybe more suited to pull-ups.

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

My DD is 16 weeks old and we used Size 2.

  1. What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I thought they were really good quality with a cute design.

  1. What did you like most about the nappies?

Probably how comfortable they seem on my little one who has sensitive skin. They are great for storing in your changing bag as they don’t take up a lot of space, which is extremely practical. Of course, the main importance is that these nappies do not leak and I have found them very reliable when out and about.

  1. Which nappychat design did you choose?

We had Silver and there friends in the Sky.

  1. Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby

I'll be honest, I didn't create any stories with the nappies. Although a sweet idea, and I'm sure we'd all love to have plenty of time for stories with our little ones throughout the day. The reality is, I used these as nappies, nothing more.

  1. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?

I would, however the price is really quite expensive and I doubt any of my friends would pay £14.99 for 72.

  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
5 months old and size 3
  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Really good, they were the softest nappies I have come across, the only downside was they didn’t seem to come up as high as pampers and therefore didn’t last overnight without a leak
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
Definitely how soft they were
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
Blue
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
We had a chat about the different animals on the nappy, it definitely prompted me to chat whilst changing her
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
Absolutely
Tashap83 · 13/04/2018 16:19

How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

My son is 7 months, we normally use size 3 but we were sent 2’s in error, they actually pretty roomy and fit him well so we used them

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I loved how soft they are, you can tell they are gentle and the pictures are brilliant. I didn’t experience any leaking but noticed they seemed to be fuller quicker than our usual brand so I changed him much more often. I would have liked to have a colour change strip which I find very helpful.

  • What did you like most about the nappies?

The feel - how soft and almost snuggly they are.

  • Which nappychat design did you choose

Animal friends

  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby

We tried but when I showed him the nappy he kept trying to put it in his mouth.

  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?

Yes; however I think he price is a little high for most of my friends budget especially when on maternity leave - every saving counts.

  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use? 14 weeks, size 3
  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Liked the soft feel and design. Held in wee perfectly but really let us down dramatically on the poo front. Leaked everywhere unfortunately.
  • What did you like most about the nappies? Soft feel
  • Which nappychat design did you choose? I don’t remember choosing but we got blue ones with animals on.
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby. Once I did but I wouldn’t say it was a main reason to choose a nappy.

Would I buy? Probably not unless they were on offer. Would I recommend to a friend, again, unfortunately due to the poo leakage I don’t think I would use or recommend.

sarat1 · 13/04/2018 16:51
  • My baby is 5 months old and we tested size 3 nappies.
  • From the moment I opened the pack, I fell in love with this brand. The colourful nappies are really eye catching and incredibly soft. Really nice and stretchy so fits snugly but never too tight. No negatives to report!
  • Best thing is that every nappy brand I have tried does not contain the poos that my little one does, but having used these nappies for a week, there are been no accidents!
  • I chose animal friends design
  • I did initially show them to my baby and let him play with one but he is a little too young to really benefit, I keep to singing to him instead.
  • I have already recommended to my friends and will continue to do so
AveAtqueVale · 13/04/2018 17:00
  • My baby is just nine months and we used size 3s.
-I really like how soft and light the nappies are. They’re not bulky at all, and feel very good quality. We had one leak using them overnight but I think it was on a bit loosely.
  • The softness.
  • We had the weather design.
  • Most nappy changes at the moment are just a wrestling match as he’s constantly trying to crawl off, so I didn’t have much chance. I did have a chat to my toddler a couple of times about how pretty the nappies are though.
  • I’d definitely recommend them.
mummabubs · 13/04/2018 17:02

I tested the size 3 nappies with my 5.5 month old son. I have tried pretty much every supermarket brand as well as the more expensive brands (ie pampers) so feel like I've got a fairly good grasp of the market! We tried the "weather" nappy design.

Pros:

  • Definitely the softest nappy I've ever used. My husband thought I was exaggerating so got me to blind feel these nappies against our regular ones several times and I was always able to tell which was which.
  • I liked the environmental considerations of the product.

Cons:

  • THE PRICE!!! I looked these up and nearly dropped my laptop when I realised they're £15.99 a pack, which is literally four times what we currently pay.
  • (as others have said) It's not very easy to tell which is the front and which is the back as the design is printed all over the nappy. Whilst this isn't the end of the world it was a bit annoying when doing changes in the night under low light conditions. I actually felt the design looked a bit dreary and cheap.
  • We still had leaks (but then do occasionally with other brands too).
  • Honestly, maybe others would disagree but the whole "Nappychat" thing felt very gimmicky to me. I already talk to my baby when changing him, and with the nappies we usually use I always show him the nappy first and label the animal as they have different designs within the pack. The Mum & You nappies all have the same design so weren't very interesting, but also I couldn't help but feel there was no point of the whole nappychat idea- why make up a story about some weather characters (who look like they're passing wind, which was the only comment I made to my son about the nappy itself!), when the child in question can't see the nappy as you change them so the nappy itself is kind of irrelevant. I completely agree that communication is important and nappy changing time is a great opportunity for this, but I'd rather engage my son in a more natural manner rather than making up stories about the weather (are you expected to come up with a different story for all 66 nappies?!)

Overall...
These nappies were beautifully soft, but it's not like the nappies that we currently buy don't feel soft 'enough' if that makes sense, so I wouldn't spend over 4 times the amount just for that. I didn't find them very practical in terms of not being able to differentiate front and back easily and the nappychat gimmick frankly put me off as it felt like a poorly thought through idea and just a tool to try and sell more nappies. Overall I wouldn't recommend these to a friend I'm afraid as I don't feel they represent good value for money.

Tj9694 · 13/04/2018 17:07

How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
Baby is five and a half months old using size three

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
I wasn't a massive fan of the nappies. The fit wasn't great for my baby and found there was a gap at the back regardless of how tight I put them. I also found the nappy felt wet every time I changed her regardless of the time since the last change so felt it must have felt uncomfortable for her.
  • What did you like most about the nappies? The design. However it was hard to differentiate between front and back of the nappy which made it difficult to tell which side was which especially when sleep deprived Grin
  • Which nappychat design did you choose? Stars
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
I didn't
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
Probably not. Didn't feel they were very absorbant and found the fit wasn't great for my baby. Have used better nappies that are cheaper.
Dumbotheelephant · 13/04/2018 17:13

How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
5 months and size 3

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
They arrived and my main love is they where super soft on the outside and inside. They where brilliant and didn't restrict movement at all, my LO even done his first roll from front to back in them. I didn't like it didn't have a colour change strip which showed if they had been used and found they did get quite full overnight at the front but the back never seemed wet.
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
How soft and how easily my baby moved in them.
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
The blue ones with animals on.
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby

We sand nursery rhymes as they had animals on in sang old MacDonald has a zoo with a cat, giraffe, elephant etc

  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
I would but I was impressed and went to look at ordering some but they where massively out my price range but I would 100% recommend especially for somebody looking for something biodegradable.
BristolMum96 · 13/04/2018 17:21

My baby was 20 weeks when we tried the nappies
We used size 3
They were great nappies. They were lovely and soft and thin and seemed very comfortable for the baby. Nothing to dislike! I liked how well fitting they were, there was no leaks, no rustling, she fit them like a glove. We chose the animal design. We didn’t use the design to talk about, she hates nappy changing so I got it done as soon as I could with no talking! I would most definitely recommend to a friend, and have already!

mummabubs · 13/04/2018 17:25

@wellhonestly I was a tester and felt that way a bit too- especially when the card that came with the nappies randomly said these were for "mums, dads, grandmas and everyone who cares for baby"- I just thought why include grandma but not grandfather too? Agree that it implies mum is the one who's responsible for the changing- when my hubby is at home we operate a 50/50 nappy labour divide! 😂

Kelbell444 · 13/04/2018 17:44
  • 4 months old and we used size 3
  • the nappies seemed to be of a high quality and I liked the fun designs.
  • I liked that they felt soft.
  • We had the weather design.
  • We didn't always talk about the designs but on a couple of times I commented on what the weather was like outside that day and the first time she wore them we discussed what was on the nappy.
  • I would recommend these nappies if they were an appropriate price.
Gintoxicated · 13/04/2018 18:03

I used the nappies on my baby aged 10 weeks - size 2
My initial thoughts were they looked good, I liked the design and that they were different to usual nappies we’ve bought. They were soft and thinner than others so I didn’t expect to like them.
The nappies were great - loved how much softer they were on my babies skin and had no rash whilst using. We had no leaking but they did feel slightly damp after a nights use.
I didn’t use them as a talking point and not sure I would even if my child was older. Cute idea but at the moment, my baby is just keen to get her nappy changed and clothes back on!
I would recommend but the price would put me off buying them. I would be happy to pay slightly more than my usual brands but not up to £15

I also agree that the name isn’t great as they will likely put off men from buying them

Miskate · 13/04/2018 18:40

How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
I tested the nappies on my eight month old, size three.

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
My overall impression was good, the designs were cute she they felt very soft and good quality. They did not have a chemically smell that some nappies have. However, they were not long enough for my son, and he had a major nappy leak one day going through a vest and a onesie. This put me off.
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
I liked the softness of the material
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
Elephants and giraffes
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
Not really as I'm always focused on preventing him from doing a full flip on the mat.
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
For a smaller baby yes, if the price was right. My son is very tall so a bit of an anomaly tbf.
waterlily200 · 13/04/2018 19:08
  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

Boy, 8-9 weeks. Size 2 nappies.

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

My initial impressions were good, they looked good, felt soft and didn't have a funny smell as others have.

I felt they were smaller then a other more well known nappy brand and worried they would therefore leak out the top. However they didn't leak once even when put to the test by my son! I was very impressed with how absorbent they were and the didn't give off an unpleasant odour when full which is good.

  • What did you like most about the nappies?

They were very soft and seemed comfortable.

  • Which nappychat design did you choose?

Animals

  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby

I didn't use the designs to talk to my son I described the animals and sounds they made.

  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?

Yes, they're pretty, practical and comfortable. However I think they are small for their size so would recommend getting a larger size if baby was close to weight limit.

carolineandbaby · 13/04/2018 19:13
  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

4 months size 2

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I loved the beautiful design and the nappy chat characters. I thought thy were really stylish and cute. They were super soft and had little cut outs for around the belly button.

I disliked how short they were up the front and to the back. This led to a few leaks.

  • What did you like most about the nappies?

As above the characters, design and softness.

  • Which nappychat design did you choose?

We had stars and clouds. A grey nappy with pink designs.

  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby

I really didn’t use them

  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?

No. Too many leaks. Didn’t fit well around the body. Too short and tabs too small. Didn’t have a wetness indicator and leaked quite a bit. Also looking online it was very expensive and I wouldn’t pay that additional price for them when there are competitive nappies out there better

Lazypuppy · 13/04/2018 19:18
  1. Baby is 10 weeks old and i tested size 2 nappies.
  1. I thought they were good nappies overall, i liked how soft they were and baby didn't get nappy rash. I didn't like that there was no line to say when she'd had a wee. It didn't hold her poonami's, but only my reusable cloth nappies do.
  1. I don't remember choosing a design but was sent the grey ones.
  1. I don't really understand the nappy chat. My baby loves nappy change time so could be good as i chat away tk her whilst we're doing it. I swear its her favourite place to be at the moment as she lies there and kicks constantly.
  1. I would recommend however not based on price. We get on much better with the aldi ones which are 44 nappies for £3.
