Thanks for the opportunity to test run these nappies.
Baby girl aged 10 weeks
First Impression
Nice soft material and decent elastication on the legs
I liked best the fact that they where easy to fit and the tapes where strong.
We tested Size 2 Weather which where a very cute design
We have always chatted when changing since birth face to face is invaluable at any age.
I would certainly tell my friends about this product I did take some to baby massage class and allowed other mums to try with good response from them.
I would pay a reasonable amount to buy these nappies as I think you pay for what you get and I would be getting a good quality product imo.

  • My DS is four months and we tried size 2.
  • I really liked that the packaging was slim and a lot less bulky than Pampers, I could skoosh the packet under the cot without having to ram it in! The nappies felt really soft and didn't have that rustling noise that most do.
  • I liked that they were soft and seemed well made.
  • We tried the animal design, which was really pretty. I went to a baby class and another mum saw the nappy and commented on how cool the design was.
  • I popped the nappies on my head a couple of times as a mad hat and my DS liked it. I think he's too young to appreciate the designs with a view to a story being made out of the pictures but I think older babies/toddlers would love it.
-I would recommend them to a friend, depending on the price point.

  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use? - Age 4 months, I used size 3
  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? - They are so soft and look lovely. Looking lovely and being soft is where the good points end. These nappies hardly contained any wee from my dd. I now have a urine stain on my new mattress. I found these nappies were almost unfit for purpose.
  • What did you like most about the nappies? - The softness
  • Which nappychat design did you choose? - The blue ones
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby. - They didn't really make me converse with my dd more than at other nappy changes but they do look pretty.
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend? - No
Obsidian · 18/04/2018 14:00

1.Baby is 16 weeks and we used size 3 nappies.

  1. Nappies were a good fit, nice and soft and only leaked slightly round the legs overnight once or twice (no different to other brands). Designs were nice but nothing special.
  1. Best point was softness - less drying on mine and babies skin.
  1. We had the weather design.
  1. Didn’t really use designs to help chat to baby. I do this anyway (as I’m sure most parents do naturally) and found the concept a bit patronising. Also, baby is tiny and so it doesn’t really matter what I say - it’s the tone and expressions, rather than the content that he responds to!
  1. I would recommend based on softness, but they seem very expensive, so probably not!
LeanneC84 · 18/04/2018 14:15

My baby is 7 months old and we used size 3.
We loved these nappies, they are so soft, inside and out. We had no problems with leakage and they lasted through the night no problem. We had the green cloud and star nappies and loved the design.
Would definitely recommend and hope when they are on sale they aren't expensive.

  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
Baby is 20 weeks and using size 3 nappies
  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Very colourful and soft. Was initially concerned that they felt very thin and would therefore be prone to leaks. The nappy performed better than I thought it would, however they could not contain DS’s explosive poos.
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
Softness and their patterns
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
I chose the blue animal design
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
No I didn’t use the nappychat design to talk to my DS - I talk and sing to him anyway. For me, a nappy change is quick so I wouldn’t really spend time showing him the nappy before putting it on him.
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
It would depend on their price.

How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
Baby is 3 months and we used size 3

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
I really liked the softness and fit. I think my son was more comfy in them than the current brand we use. He seemed to have a bit more freedom of movement. The patterns are cute and the idea they are more environmentally friendly is a big plus (although more info on this is required) What I didn’t like so much was they seemed to get heavy more quickly and I felt I was changing more frequently than with our normal brand. Not a big issue. They didn’t leak any more but I don’t think they hold as much so weren’t as good overnight - he woke up damp when we tried full overnight without a change but it seemed to have soaked through rather than leaked in one spot. My husband is a fan of the wetness indicators you get on pampers and said he missed that, not bothered myself. I also wasn’t entirely clear on the environmental credentials from the website - what does more eco friendly mean (other than being a marketing term?)
  • What did you like most about the nappies? Softness and kindness to skin
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
Stars and clouds
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
Nope, didn’t see the point. I talk more than enough with the little one :) but I did like them as they are a bit different!
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend? Well I’m considering buying some more for myself as they feel so nice. The price is putting me off a little so I’d probably mix with another brand.
user1493749649 · 18/04/2018 14:25
  1. My baby is 15 weeks old and I used size 3.
  1. They look nice and fun and felt very thick compared to some other brands. However, they did not fit at all well and we had lots of leakage.
  1. The design.
  1. The weather design.
  1. I didn’t really, I talk and sing to her throughout her nappy changes during the day anyway so this didn’t really change that.
  1. No, we only used a few and had lots of leaks. These were down her legs, up her back and up her tummy. They seemed to be too small despite her weighing much less than the maximum weight. I gave them to a friend with a smaller baby so hopefully they’ll work better for her baby.
TIMMS30 · 18/04/2018 14:45

My baby is 21 weeks old, a boy. We used the size 3 nappies as he is about to go up a size, he is currently wearing Aldi size 2.

I really liked the design of the nappies and they would look lovely in the summer under dresses/with t-shirts. I wouldn’t say that the design especially brought about any ‘chat’ with my baby, I do like tha idea and I think to play on the design on its appearance may be a better idea perhaps? We used the blue cat/animal style nappies.

I found the nappies lovely and soft, no rustling and didn’t have the artificial smell that most have, they fit really well and there was no rubbing after wearing.

The one negative about the nappies was that overnight, they didn’t tend to hold the ‘wet’ very well and felt sodden after only a few hours. However my baby does produce very wet nappies during the nights and so this may be down to him rather than the design of the nappy.

Overall I was really impressed with appearance/style/fit and I would recommend to a friend on this basis.

EmberRainbow · 18/04/2018 15:07

-How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

9months size 3

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I really like these nappies. Our baby has sensitive skin and is experiencing teething related nappy rash currently and I found these nappies were just, if not more, gentle on her than our current brand.

Like another poster said, making the front/back more easily noticeable (coloured sticky tabs) would be a help.

Fit was good and amazingly no leaks and dealt well with overnight wetness well.

  • What did you like most about the nappies?

Very soft, not bulky and even when wet the area touching babies skin was dry.

  • Which nappychat design did you choose?

Stars and clouds

  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby

Tbh I’m not sure what audience it’s targeted at as most nappies have some sort of picture on that you could use to chat and I don’t imagine someone changing a nappy being so lost for a way of entertaining the baby as to rely on the nappy design. We didn’t really use this feature and It wouldn’t influence me purchasing them.

  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?

Probably not as although good, they are expensive and other brands are just as good but cheaper.

WhyArePiratesCalledPirates · 18/04/2018 15:52
  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
size 2, 8 weeks old.
  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
I didn't like the feel of them but the pictures were cute. She wore one for about 3 hours (standard in her usual brand) and when she was changed my DP said her vest and sleep suit were wet. After that I lost faith and didn't use them again,
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
They were free.
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
The animals.
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
It prompted a commentary like "ooh... A giraffe... doesn't it have a long neck" type chat. Didn't really inspire stories.
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
Nope. Style over substance.
Sj595 · 18/04/2018 16:00

Used size 2 for 4 month old baby (animals). Really like the softness of the nappies. Some leaking issues but no worse than my (very cheap) usual brand. Also no better so would not be able to justify the much higher price. I find the brand name patronising. Did not use the pictures for storytelling but my 3 year old loved them!

Dexterslab · 18/04/2018 16:50

My child is almost six months old and we tested the size 3 nappies.

My overall impression was that the nappies were lovely and soft to touch and didn't feel hard or inflexible. I really liked the feel of them.
Unfortunately the nappies leaked twice when my baby pooed, up the back but that could have been because she was wriggling around on her playmat!

We chose the star design because we love stars! I have to say it did prompt me to sing "twinkle twinkle" at bedtime!

funnyonion94 · 18/04/2018 17:45

How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
My daughter is 3 months old and I used size 3 nappies

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
I love the funky designs, they're unlike any i have seen before. They're super soft and flexible, a lot like pampers. The only downside is that they caused nappy rash on my daughters bottom! I continued to use them for a couple of days and used nappy rash cream but they still seemed to make her sore unfortunately.
  • What did you like most about the nappies?
The flexibility of them
  • Which nappychat design did you choose?
Weather
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
I didn't think to!
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
I guess i would but depends if my baby was a one off with the rash. I wouldn't like other babies to endure a sore bum
LouLouLoupee · 18/04/2018 18:11

Baby is 7 weeks and we used size 2 nappies.

  • I was fairly impressed with these nappies, they felt soft out the packet and not too bulky, definitely a bit more fun looking than other nappies. There was nothing in particular I disliked about them.
  • I most liked how soft they felt.
  • We had the animals
  • I would just name the animals and make some animal noises, as DS is only 7 weeks it seemed like it was more for my benefit.
  • Yes as a product I would recommend to a friend
baby410 · 18/04/2018 19:36
  • My baby is 6 months old and we used size 3
  • They are lovely soft nappy and I liked the pictures on them. We didn't have any more leaks than usual so overall I was impressed
  • I liked how soft they were most
  • We had the cloud and star design
  • Apart from initially commenting on how pretty the nappy was I wouldn't say I chatted to her about them
  • Although I really liked these nappies and the idea of being more eco friendly they are totally out of my price range and for that reason only I wouldn't recommend them
Dscarl07 · 18/04/2018 20:15

My baby is 6 months old, using the size 3 nappies.

When opening the nappies, the comfort of them was a great feel. So soft. Also very colourful and patterned. I used the weather nappies which she liked to look at.

The issue I would say is the price of the nappies are rather high, and also leaked a little making my daughters clothes damp after only 2 hours wear. I only tried her in them in the day time as I didn’t trust them at night due to the leaks.

I was showing my baby the different colours and designs, however she was more interested in biting them.

Although the design and feel is great, I wouldn’t particularly recommend those to a family member or friend due to the price and the leaks.

Thepeopleversus · 18/04/2018 21:05

How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use? My baby is 4 months old, in size 3.

What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? Lovely and soft, didn't get any nappy rash. On the one hand we didn't have any leaks, including overnight, which is impressive for us! But on the other I did feel that the outside of the nappy got damp - I've never before felt his clothes got damp without an actual leak.

What did you like most about the nappies? the softness of them

Which nappychat design did you choose?
Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby The animals. I didn't use them to talk - I talk to him about what he can see, and the angle means he's not looking at his nappy while being changed!

Would you recommend these nappies to a friend? No, due to the dampness.

Ljgstorm · 18/04/2018 21:35

My dd is almost six months old and we tested the size 3 nappies. When the nappies arrived she had only recently moved up to size 3 in pampers and lidl nappies so I thought they would be a good fit. As others have said the nappies are extremely soft and look very comfortable. My dd is teething at the moment and suffers from nappy rash as a result of this but these nappies did seem to sooth her skin more. The fit is very similar to that of other brands I use.

I used the nappies other night for the first couple of nights however both times they leaked up her back and down her legs. As dd sleeps through the night I need a nappy that will last for the whole night which I feel these were not able to do. I swapped to using her usual nappies over night and used these nappies during the day. We have had no leaks during the day.

The design of the nappies are very nice. We chose the cloud and star designs. Dd liked to have her own (clean) nappy to play with while I change her and we did talk about the pretty patterns sometimes if she seemed interested. As our usual routine is usually singing silly songs at nappy change I don't feel we used the nappy chat aspect of the nappy that much.

I liked the softness of these nappies and the design. I would consider buying them in the future as day nappies abd not for over night wearing.

justlurking1 · 18/04/2018 21:59

We had the size 2 nappies for my 6 week old. We chose the animal print.

Loved the feel of them, they seemed really soft and comfortable. Had a few leaks, mainly pooup the back but no worse than pampers.

I've struggled to find anything of how they biodegrade though, would it work in landfill or need special conditions?

Brenna24 · 18/04/2018 22:03

How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use? We used them between 12 and 13 weeks and had size 3s.

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? They are lovely and soft and came further up the back than other nappies we had tried. We still did have a few up the back poo leakages and a couple of leg poo leakages but fewer than with other disposables we have tried.
  • What did you like most about the nappies? Softness and ecofriendlyness.
  • Which nappychat design did you choose? Blue animals
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby. I would point the animals out on the nappy and name them. Sometimes with a small story about the animal's day.
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend? I have done.
bubcub · 18/04/2018 22:59
  • My baby is 6 months and 7 days old.
  • We used size 3 nappies
  • My overall impression of them is very good, and I'm more impressed the longer I use them. I'm seeing fewer up-the-back poop leaks than with other brands I've used, as Mum & You seem to have quite a high waistband at the back (I'd been using size 4 just to cover a bit higher up the back).
Immediately I really liked how soft they feel, and I like that they're white inside - some other brands are coloured and I think it's unnecessary to have ink near baby's skin. The only thing I disliked was the side tabs looked like they were on the verge of tearing all the time. I think they were deliberately weak so they can be easily torn off, but they developed big holes and tears in them after she'd moved about a while, and it made me a bit nervous!
  • The feature I like best is the softness. They feel really luxurious and comfy!
  • I chose the clouds and stars design.
  • I didn't really talk to the baby about the designs, perhaps only the first time I used them. I get lots of giggles from making fun of how disgusting her dirty nappy is, so I tend to talk about that!
  • I would recommend them to a friend, I really liked them.
bananaramama · 18/04/2018 23:16
  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

My baby is 10 weeks old and we used size 2 nappies (he is 5.3kg).

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I loved the designs and they felt very soft.
There is no wetness indicator but to be honest, this isn't really necessary.

  • What did you like most about the nappies?

The eco credentials and the design. It makes a change from Pampers which are quite dull to be honest!
The fact that they are kinder to the planet it also a bonus, there's less guilt when we go through them on a poopy day!

  • Which nappychat design did you choose?

I didn't choose but was given the weather design.

  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby

To be honest, I didn't as there's only so many times you can discuss the same design with your baby... perhaps would be better to offer a variety of designs in a pack so you can mix it up.

  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?

Yes, they performed just as well as the ones we use normally.

Thanks for letting us trial them!

alijchappell · 19/04/2018 01:33

My child is 8 months and we had size 3.

I liked the softness of the nappies and that they're good for the environment. I dislike the price of them.

The thing I liked most was the softness.

We had the animal design.

I told him what the animals were and what noises they made.

I would recommend them because they were soft and comfy but the price would put off a lot of my friends.

hodgeheg92 · 19/04/2018 04:13
  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use? Little one is 3 months and we used the size 2 (our usual size when we use disposables)
  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Ridiculous name, find it very patronising and old fashioned. The actual nappies were incredibly soft and they would look nicer than usual ones under dresses in the hotter weather. Every poo leaked up the back but this happens in all but reusable nappies for us.
  • What did you like most about the nappies? The softness.
  • Which nappychat design did you choose? The grey one
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
I didn't even realise you were meant to use the nappies in this way! I'm not particularly interested in this feature - sure I may smile and coo at my daughter but I'm changing her bum, it's just a quick job! I'd much rather chat to her when we're just relaxing together.
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend? Probably not.
