This thread is for the 250 Mumsnetters who tested Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants with their DCs.

The following items were tested:

Junior Smart Pants Size 5 for weights: 29-44lbs 13-20kg - 20 in a pack (RRP £2.09)
Junior Nappies Big / XL Smart Pants Size 6 for weights: 35+ lbs 16+ kg - 18 in a pack (RRP £2.09)

Here’s what Lidl have to say about the products: "Lidl knows the most important things when choosing a nappy are dryness, protection and comfort. That's why we ensure ultimate dryness and leakage protection with a super absorbent core. They're extra soft and flexible with a stretchy waistband. There is no need to pay a premium price for a premium nappy, our prices are low but our quality is high. Our nappies are dermatologically tested, latex free, skin-friendly and independently tested. Protecting the environment is also important, therefore the padding used is from sustainably managed forests. The slim design means less materials, less packaging and less energy, helping to minimize our carbon footprint."

Below are some questions we’d like you to answer, but feel free to add any other comments you may have.

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

All testers who leave their feedback on site and complete the short survey we sent to you, will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck

Tester;

  1. my daughter is 20 Months, and tested the 5+.

  2. to be quite honest, I thought they looked a bit odd at first. The nappy seemed to go down the centre, but the sides were see through which seemed a bit strange. However, they were really good to use. There was no leakage and they were very soft. My daughter liked the pull up- we don't normally use pull ups..

  3. yes, I would.

  4. yes, because of the price and quality.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

Really loved them. They were absorbent and came up high on her waist. Easy for her to pull up and down which we need whilst potty training.
1 pack was abit bulky and i think the sizing as a little big for us. But still no leaks.

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Thankyou so much for giving me the opportunity to eat these out, I'm going to save lots of money buying Lidl pull ups. Love the design and cute pictures on them too. Filling this in a bit late but hey ho.

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

She is aged 2 and we tried size 5.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

Overall impression was that they were ok. I liked that the illustrations (swimming theme on one style, space theme on the other) were very bold compared to other brands. It didn’t bother me that these designs and their colour schemes seemed more “boyish”.
I appreciated the style with the tape for rolling them up.
I disliked that we had more than a normal amount of leaking incidents. Perhaps the nappies could do with being a tiny bit thicker, or perhaps the shape was not quite right for my child.

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Perhaps I would, but I would tell them not to use them around nap or bedtime, due to the leaking issues we had when we tried them.

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

In a crunch. If there was nothing preferable available, or we were short on cash.

PancakesAndMapleSyrup · 03/01/2018 20:35

I have only just received these nappies on 3/1/18. Will post when ive tried them out!

dontpokethebear · 04/01/2018 10:56

I also only recieved mine yesterday 3/1/18.

First night was all good, but will leave feedback after a few more nights!

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

My baby is 12 weeks and i have been using size 2

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I LOVE these nappies! We normally use Pampers but we are converted... even the nannies have commented on how good they are and they are not easily pleased.

  1. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yeah i have done a few times already.

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future? If so why?

Yeah infact I am going to buy more tomorrow now i have run out

As an added extra the elasticated back on these nappies are genious! My son is a very active kicker and a normal nappy comes loose very quickly but these give him enough stretch.

Soon2bemum2017 · 10/01/2018 21:39

What happens if we only recieved the nappies after the prize winner had been picked? Thats not great is it!

NerrSnerr · 10/01/2018 22:06

Soon2be this is the feedback thread for the pull up pants (size 5 and size 6). there is a separate thread for feedback for the nappies.

This is the feedback thread for nappies.

PancakesAndMapleSyrup · 12/02/2018 00:53

Ive just realised that my original post has not loaded for some reason?

  1. Mg DD was 6 months old and size 3 were tested.
  2. I really liked the fact that they were very slim and a good fit. So comfy for baby. I found them great as a daywear nappy but they just xouldbt hold the volume of liquid for an 8+ hour sleep. We had quite a few leakages so i stopped using them at night. But as i say daytime great and cost is a bonus too.
  3. Yes i would tell anyone to give them a go why not?! Try and see if they like them instead of the other two leading brands.
  4. I probably wont buy them but more vecause i dont have a lidl near me and its miles away to just go for nappies.
PancakesAndMapleSyrup · 12/02/2018 00:55

Ive reported my post as it should be nappies!

Mammyloveswine · 06/04/2018 12:49
  1. We tried size 5 and my toddler is 2.
  1. Overall they were very soft and a nicer fit than pampers "nappy pants" we had previously tried. I think they contained wee well but didn't trap in the urine smell. Good for potty training though as strong.
  1. Yes i would recommend them
  1. Yes i would definitely buy them.
SnugglySnerd · 06/04/2018 14:47

Is this the right thread for the recent product test? I only received them last week!

StylishDuck · 08/04/2018 19:26
  1. My DD is 3 and we tested size 5.
  1. I liked the animal design and they felt softer than pampers and huggies. DD found them easier to pull down herself to sit on the potty than huggies in particular. They didn't trap the urine smell very well (we still have a lot of accidents!) but I've yet to find a brand that does to be fair.
  1. Yes I would recommend them to a friend, purely because they are cheaper than branded pull ups and comparable in performance.
  1. Yes I would use them myself.
StylishDuck · 08/04/2018 19:28

Just noticed the winner was announced in December. Is this the most recent test? I only got my pull ups last week!

MrWriter · 09/04/2018 14:09
  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

I tested them on both my 2 year old (all the time) and my 4 year old for over nights.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I really liked them, good material and funky pattern, my 4 year old was able to pull them up/down himself at night without them tearing.
They worked well on my 2 year old two, she's pretty active and lot of pull up pants come lose on her and leak, these were fine, no leaks.

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Definitely, they are really good.

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Yes, and I have already! Was in Lidl over the weekend and picked up a few packets, we normally use Pampers, but these are a lot cheaper and work just as well.

Thank you for converting me!

samii1989 · 09/04/2018 20:51

We tried the size 6 pull ups, my daughter is 3.5. The design was plain?? However they were extremely soft and she seemed comfortable in them. She only wears them overnight and we normally have a lot of leaks using the aldis or pampers pullups but I'm pleased to say we didn't have any leaks over night. For the price I would say these are fantastic value and I will 100% be buying these from now on

emmskie03 · 10/04/2018 08:46
  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use? Age 2 years. Size 5
  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? I really liked them. They are much softer than other brands but feel more substantial. We've been using Pampers which feel like they will break when being pulled up and down, these feel much better.
  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation? Definitely!
  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why? Definitely. Much more cost effective, even against Pampers on offer.

1 year 4 months, used size 5

They were great, easy to get on and off, very slim but very absorbent, no leaks!

  2. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?yes, if go out of my way to shop at Lidl in order to buy these. We had no leaks even at night when my DS can end up with a very heavy nappy and it leaking if I don't change him half way through the night

AveEldon · 12/04/2018 12:47

Shame that the product never arrived so I couldn't test it

Mjupe · 12/04/2018 18:03

Lidles pull ups product tester

I thought they was very good no leakages altho I thought the bum area could be a bit bigger and when I recieved the two week trial and only recieved one pack I thought oh dear as my daughter goes through a pack a week also they are plain white could have some sort of colour and picture on overall very pleased would definitely recommend and definitely be buying in the future Smile
