This thread is for the 250 Mumsnetters who tested Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants with their DCs.

The following items were tested:

Junior Smart Pants Size 5 for weights: 29-44lbs 13-20kg - 20 in a pack (RRP £2.09)
Junior Nappies Big / XL Smart Pants Size 6 for weights: 35+ lbs 16+ kg - 18 in a pack (RRP £2.09)

Here’s what Lidl have to say about the products: "Lidl knows the most important things when choosing a nappy are dryness, protection and comfort. That's why we ensure ultimate dryness and leakage protection with a super absorbent core. They're extra soft and flexible with a stretchy waistband. There is no need to pay a premium price for a premium nappy, our prices are low but our quality is high. Our nappies are dermatologically tested, latex free, skin-friendly and independently tested. Protecting the environment is also important, therefore the padding used is from sustainably managed forests. The slim design means less materials, less packaging and less energy, helping to minimize our carbon footprint."

Below are some questions we’d like you to answer, but feel free to add any other comments you may have.

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

All testers who leave their feedback on site and complete the short survey we sent to you, will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

2 1/2 and we used size 6

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I thought they were really good. We are only using at night time so probably not getting the best use out of them are DS is mostly dry now but they were comfy and no leaks, as good as other more expensive brands.

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes. They were as good as other brands and assume much cheaper

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Yes, especially the ones with the stretchy sides. the sticker to seal closed. Easy to get on and off and DS liked the pictures on them. No leaks overnight.

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?
Ages 17m and 3.5. Both in size 5

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
They were fine. Actually preferred the 'Quality 2' ones with the smocked elastic, a better fit

  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
    Yes

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
Yes if I was going to Lidl. Great value for money

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use? DD is 21 months. We used size 5
  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? I initially thought there had been a mistake as the first one out the packet had a water slide on it and I thought they’d sent swim nappies! Quality was better than expected. They looked comfortable, especially quality 2. They held in poop very well, even a looser teething poo. Sadly they were no match for DD’s overnight wee and leaked every morning. Back to Babydry!
  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation? For daytime use definitely
  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why? Yes. They are every bit as good as* pampers activfit nappy pants and are ideal for use in the day time*

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?
DD2 is 4 yo, wore size 6 (at night)

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Great, comfortable (DD2 sometimes complains of pull ups being too tight around the top of her leg) and most importantly, no leaks. Price seems v good value.
DD2 noticed early on that there were different designs on the front and then every night wanted a 'girly' one, until they ran out and was then happy to accept one with a dog in a racing car, or whatever! Didn't bother me though.

  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
    Yes

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
Yes, great quality and value, what's not to like?

1) How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

Tested them on DC1 (recently turned 6) and DC2 (recently turned 4). We tried the size 6 pull up pants.

2) What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

Overall a positive impression. We used them on the DC at nights (neither DC is yet reliably dry when sleeping).
They fitted my 6 yr old more comfortably than the Pampers size 6 pull-ups we normally buy, and seemed to be as absorbent as our normal pull-ups.
The only thing I didn’t like was that when I opened the packet they smelt a little unpleasant compared to the Pampers pull-ups, but this is a very minor thing and wouldn’t put me off buying these for my DC.

3) Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes.

4) Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Yes. The fit was better for our older DC, they performed as well as our normal brand did overnights, and looking at the recommended retail prices, they’re about half the price of our usual brand, so great value for money.

My child was 5 and tried size 6

I liked them but felt a bit thin, only used for night time just in case. He seemed comfortable in them. The design was nice and lots to talk about with my son he found them amusing.

Yes i would recommend to a friend and i liked pack 2. I would say overall they do the job and were nicely made, no issues.

Yes i would buy them and i would buy pack 2.

Nannyplumssillyoldelf · 22/11/2017 19:30
  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

My child is 2 and I tested size 5.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

My Daughter loved the pictures on them so was happy to stand still long enough to get them on. I found them easier to get on than nappies. They were good, there were no leaks.

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes I would.

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Yes I would, they are good value for money.

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?
Used size 5 on my 22 month old

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
I liked pack 2 better, they were softer, easier to rip sides, and I felt more comfortable. I would buy pack 2 again but not pack 1.

  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation? Yes

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
Yes, good value, lasted as long as a normal nappy, quicker to change when daughter wearing a dress, can change standing up. Also when I sent her to get a nappy she picked the pull ups rather than a nappy and said "big girl"!

WhiskyandRed · 22/11/2017 20:09
  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

We tried the size 5 on both my son aged 3 (night-time use) and my daughter aged 2.

When I applied I thought I'd use them just for my eldest, but they seemed appropriate for my youngest too by the time they arrived.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

Really liked these pull-ups and found they were great for day or night use -- no leaks at all. Very easy to pull on, and the sides ripped easily to get them off, but didn't start splitting before this. My husband and I both really liked the sticky bit at the back to keep the used nappy sealed before getting it to the bin.

Only thing we thought was a shame about them was that the meshing on the front slightly obscured the picture and my son loves being able to see the animals! But this obviously doesn't affect their performance and wouldn't be a reason for us not to get them.

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes, in those fairly unlikely circumstances, I certainly would.

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Yes, I would definitely buy these again. Both children liked wearing them and I thought they were very good quality. In all honesty, I didn't notice much of a difference in quality 1 or 2 -- I thought both were good. We often shop in Lidl so will likely be getting these if they do come out on the shelves.

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?
She is 3 and we used large size 6

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
I liked how comfortable the waistband was and the interesting designs on them. I didnt like how they leaked and i hated the smell when they had a wee in them.

  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
No i wouldnt recommend unless it was an emergency.

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
No i wouldnt because of the leaking and the awful smell.

SlurplePurple · 23/11/2017 04:20
  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use? He’s 2 and we used size 6.
  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? They are great. Ds is really big for his age. He’s tall and stocky so the nappies I’ve ever managed to fit on him comfortably are Tesco own brand as they stretch much more than other brands but these pants are so soft and stretchy on the waist he loves them!
  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation? Definitely
  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why? Yes I’m making a special trip to Lidl this week to try and get more. Ds loves them because they have fun pictures on whereas the brand we’ve always had to use are boring in comparison

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?
I have a just 2 yr old boy, we tested size 5

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
I really like the second pack, really soft, very stretchy and the tape to hold together for disposal is really useful.
There is a bit of a strange smell but not offensive. They seem to hold in the leaks and the waistband looks to be very comfy.

  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
Yes, the price of them is good in comparison to other brands so they seem to be good value.

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants
Yes, when we go to the next size I will consider using these.

Kentnurse2015 · 23/11/2017 13:24
  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use? Size 5 pants on my 16 month old son

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? Nice compact packaging, sweet design - easy to tell front and back! They looked comfortable on my son wearing them. No leakage generally in the day but I didn't find they lasted overnight. My son would wake up wet so I had to use another brand for nighttime. My son's bottom seemed more irritatated over the time I was using them too but that might just have been bad timing with teething making his poo more acidic!

  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation? I would mention them if they were asking about them but I wouldn't rate them better than other brands I have used.

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why? If I'm in Lidl and needed some I would buy them again yes but I wouldn't travel there specifically for the nappies

Potsie · 23/11/2017 13:27
  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?
    Almost 2 and size 5

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
They are a good fit and easy to put on. This was the first time she used pullups and she seemed to really like them. They were a nice design and we had no issues with leaking

  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
Yes I would. I think they're good value for money

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
Yes I would. I've always used Lidl nappies but this was the first time I've used their pullups and I think they're good value for money

Teatowelfairy · 23/11/2017 13:36
  1. I tested size 6 on DC aged 17 months and 3 years. 2)I really liked both packs and was extremely impressed with the quality. I actually thought they where almost identical to pampers. Pack 2 seemed slightly more stretchy for a more comfortable fit.
  2. I would definitely recommend them. 4)Yes I would buy them again.
Hmumto3 · 23/11/2017 17:06
  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

My daughter is 3 years old. We tested the size 5 pull ups.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

They are great value for money, offer good protection from leaks and they fit well. My daughter will mainly use these at night times but we haven’t had any problems and they are easy for my daughter to pull them up and down herself. The only gripe I have is that it doesn't hold the smell back all too well.

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

I would probably recommend. Would definitely recommend if the smell issue was resolved.

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Yes I probably would buy them if I were to pop into Lidl as they are good value for money

Friolero · 23/11/2017 19:28
  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

He is 6 and doubly incontinent due to disability. He tried size 6 (XL).

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I really likes these - they fit well due to the stretchy waistband and came up bigger than other size 6s. My son usually wears Libero Comfort 7s which is a nappy rather than pull up, and these fit just as well. These had good absorbency and the cuffs on the leg holes meant they didn’t leak.

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes, definitely, I was very impressed with them, and they are great value for money.

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Yes if I had easier access to a Lidl. We get nappies provided for my son, but generally not enough per day so I would try and buy these to supplement it.

SherbertDip · 23/11/2017 19:43

1) How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

My daughter is 3.5 yrs we used size 5

2) What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

We loved the quality 2 with the elastic around the waist a lot better fit for us

3) Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Would definitely recommend to a friend

4) Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

I would definitely buy again, great fit and great price 😁

Here’s what Lidl have to say about the products: "Lidl knows the most

Below are some questions we’d like you to answer, but feel free to add any other comments you may have.

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?
    2y7m - we used size 5

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I really liked the smart pants as they were lovely and stretchy and soft. They were very easy for my daughter to get in and off herself. I didn't like how stiff the other ones were, made it hard to get a tight fit in the crucial areas and overnight we had a leak out the side. I also wish you could buy larger packs

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
Yes definitely would recommend the smart pants, they feel lovely, are a good price and are cute, plus despite not being bulky they are very absorbent.

  2. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
Yes, I am a total convert, we have already bought a few packs. Thanks for letting us try them.

nippey · 23/11/2017 20:47
  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

2.5 and size 5

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

They were great, we have always used pampers and I expected these to be cheap and not good quality but they were just as good.

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes and I already have!

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

I am not a fan of Lidl and we only have one about 20min drive away, so I wouldn’t go out of my way to get them but if I had one closer I would.

KadabrasSpoon · 24/11/2017 07:32

) How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?
DS is 3 and DD is 2. We tested size 6.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
They were easy to use and seemed comfortable. Disliked the leaks. I think if a child is already pretty much dry it'd be fine but we are a way off (hopefully before school though!) so I think it couldn't handle big wees.

  2. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
    Not really

  3. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
    Perhaps when fully potty training.

allybird1 · 24/11/2017 22:36

Q1. Tester has just turned 3. We used size 6.
Q2. I really liked both packs of nappies but I found pack 2 to be the best. The stretchy sides were great. They were also very breathable and my child's bottom was less irritated as it can be with some other pullup nappies. I did think the design was a bit naff though. The type of artwork you find in a cheap colouring book!
Q3. Yes I would recommend them to people, especially pack 2.
Q4. Yes I would buy them again.
