This thread is for the 250 Mumsnetters who tested Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants with their DCs.

The following items were tested:

Junior Smart Pants Size 5 for weights: 29-44lbs 13-20kg - 20 in a pack (RRP £2.09)
Junior Nappies Big / XL Smart Pants Size 6 for weights: 35+ lbs 16+ kg - 18 in a pack (RRP £2.09)

Here’s what Lidl have to say about the products: "Lidl knows the most important things when choosing a nappy are dryness, protection and comfort. That's why we ensure ultimate dryness and leakage protection with a super absorbent core. They're extra soft and flexible with a stretchy waistband. There is no need to pay a premium price for a premium nappy, our prices are low but our quality is high. Our nappies are dermatologically tested, latex free, skin-friendly and independently tested. Protecting the environment is also important, therefore the padding used is from sustainably managed forests. The slim design means less materials, less packaging and less energy, helping to minimize our carbon footprint."

Below are some questions we’d like you to answer, but feel free to add any other comments you may have.

2) What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? my son loved the pictures on them but unfortunately they leaked a lot and I found I had to change him every 40mins or he would just be soaked through.

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation? No I wouldnt

  2. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why? No I wouldn't which is a shame as I've used lidle nappies in the past and found them to be really good.

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?
    19 months, she's 30lbs. We tried size 5.

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I loved that they don't smell of chemicals, they are the first disposable I've found which doesn't smell. They leaked though so I don't think they are absorbant enough. The elastic means when they swell up and get heavy, they fall down. I also had no idea until reading other comments above that you are supposed to tear the sides to remove them, so I had some very messy changes from pulling them down.

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation? Possibly
  2. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why? I think when my daughter is a bit older I would get them as they'd be handy for potty training. They are cheap too.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

No leaks, as good as Pampers. Daughter likes the characters.

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes I would

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

I would if I go into Lidl but I don't shop there regularly.

Tested the size 5 pull up pants on my large 18 month old.

I liked the little tab for securing the soiled nappy when folding but we did have a few 'wee' leaks out of the side. They kept all the poo in though! They were easy to tear and remove as well.

I have subsequently tried the Aldi size 5 pull-ups and much prefer them. The fit is snugger, the top seems to have more flex and have had not had any leaks. However they do not have the tab to secure the dirty nappies and are not as easy to rip off from the sides.

Imokyoureok · 18/11/2017 21:11

My child is two and we tried size 5 pull up pants.

Really liked these pull ups. They fit well and didn’t leak at all. They left no red marks on my daughters skin which I’ve found with some other pull ups that were too snug. W.E tried them overnight too and still had no leaks.
I’d definitely recommend these and if I had a Lidl nearby I’d buy these.

Yawningalldaylong · 19/11/2017 07:51

My son has just turned 3, and we used the size 5. Snug but plenty of flex.

Really impressed in quality. Love that the picture makes it clear which is the front and back.

I would definitely recommend them for in the right situation.

I would but then again, great value, no leaks, comfy, easy to use.

Davenotdave · 19/11/2017 07:52

I haven't been sent a survey, so will be unable to complete that aspect. I will compete if it's sent out to me.

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

He's just turned 3 and we used size 6,only at night.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Really liked them. Good design, never tore as they were going on which I've had with some other brands.
I preferred the quality 2 sides over 1,they were stretcher and felt softer, though my son never complained he was uncomfortable in either, so it was probably insignificant between the two.
There were no leaks, and no funny smells like some other brands.
My son liked the pictures on the nappies. Liked the pull tab bit to close it. Overall really impressed.

  2. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
Yes definitely, great value for money and a good product.

  3. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
Yes definitely, for the reasons above. Cost, quality, all good. Thank you for letting us try them

Thishatisnotmine · 19/11/2017 12:25

Should we have received a survey too? I definitely haven't had one.

thisismee · 19/11/2017 13:36

The first pack I opened and tried were absolutely awful, didn't fit and had constant leaks of poo and wee.
However the second pack I tried marked as quality 1 were fab. So I will answer questions as regards to that pack.

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

Age 2 and half size 6.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I thought they looked cheap but after using I like the snug fit , no leaks easiness of putting on and off. The sizes came away great for quickness. My son likes the patterns on them.

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes most definitely, never liked supermarket nappies ever but really liked using these.

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

100% yes, I mill make a special trip to get them as they were great to use and much cheaper .

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

Child is 2.5yrs old and we tested size 6.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

We liked the fabric type feel of the pants, which made them stretchy and comfortable. DS liked the race track design but was not so keen on the other design, so a better design would be good, since he is very attracted to the other brand which has Disney Cars on it. liked the fact that you could rip open the sides and take them off like a normal nappy if they were soiled and couldn't be pulled off like pants for that reason. We thought they would be an excellent good value alternative to other brands of pull up pants.

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes we would.

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Yes we probably would because they are likely to be better value for money, but a more appealing design on the pants would be good.

I disliked that they had a cheaper feel about them compared to the leading brand in the market.

  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation? I would recommend them because for the price they do the job and can't ask much more from them than that.

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why? Yes because they make toilet training at night time more affordable than another leading brand on the market and they did the job was impressed with them.

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

Age 3.5 and we tested size 6. We were sent two packs : quality 1 and quality 2.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I was really surprised at how much better they were than our normal brand. Lightweight, thin, soft and super affordable. There were both good, but we got on better with quality 1. I think this was because they were wider which suited my daughter. No leaks from quality 1, a couple from quality 2 because they moved slightly to the side. My daughter was not super keen on the characters, as she felt they were for boys, but she was able to work out easily which way round they went. No nappy rash or saggy bottoms with either version, could hardly tell it was wet in the morning.

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes, they are a really good find.

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why

They are designed well, do a great job, really absorbent and lightweight. Very soft and comfy. Plus super affordable.

CountingDownToBedtime · 19/11/2017 20:22

2)They leaked a few times, but sometimes so do other brands we use.
3)No wouldn't really go out of my way to recommend them to friends.
4)Doubt I would buy them in the future as Lidl isn't near my home.

DS is 4.5, and we used size 6 for overnight wetting.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

Thought they were really good. DS found them comfortable, they were easy to put on and found they hold a lot of wee for the overnights. Didn’t dislike anything!

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes.

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Yes - they’re very good value for money.

Nectarines · 20/11/2017 18:41

I tested size 6 for my 21 month old son.

I liked the fit. They seemed really comfortable and the wide, flexible waistband was a good fit.
The design was interesting for him.
Most of the time they kept him dry although there was one occasion when I had to change him in the night due to a leak.
They were easy for him to pull up and down himself.

I would probably recommend these but maybe suggest for daytime use after the night time leak we had.

I will probably try these again if I’m in Lidl.

Nectarines · 20/11/2017 18:42

I didn’t receive a survey.

  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
    I would recommend them

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

dieciocho · 21/11/2017 10:25

Dd age 4
Tested size 6

Only use them at night. Absorbancy seemed good, better than some other budget options we've tried .

Price is a benefit, obviously!

Picture isn't appealing to little ones; not very clear, too detailed.

I would recommend them, but some people just don't consider Lidl for some reason!

Yes definitely

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why? Yes we loved the design, my son found them confortable, he did not develop any rash (very sensitive skin) and appealing price!
HTKB · 21/11/2017 14:37

Thanks for sending me the nappies to try

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

He is 19 months and we tried size 5

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

Felt and looked great. However, they didn't fit. My DS is 14kg so definitely in the right size but they were just too small. His bum was hanging out and it seemed there wasn't a lot of nappy at the side. Unfortunately that meant we had near constant leaks.

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation? I would recommend they try them.

  2. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why? No, they didn't fit and didn't work for my baby.
