This thread is for the 250 Mumsnetters who tested Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants with their DCs.

The following items were tested:

Junior Smart Pants Size 5 for weights: 29-44lbs 13-20kg - 20 in a pack (RRP £2.09)
Junior Nappies Big / XL Smart Pants Size 6 for weights: 35+ lbs 16+ kg - 18 in a pack (RRP £2.09)

Here’s what Lidl have to say about the products: "Lidl knows the most important things when choosing a nappy are dryness, protection and comfort. That's why we ensure ultimate dryness and leakage protection with a super absorbent core. They're extra soft and flexible with a stretchy waistband. There is no need to pay a premium price for a premium nappy, our prices are low but our quality is high. Our nappies are dermatologically tested, latex free, skin-friendly and independently tested. Protecting the environment is also important, therefore the padding used is from sustainably managed forests. The slim design means less materials, less packaging and less energy, helping to minimize our carbon footprint."

Below are some questions we’d like you to answer, but feel free to add any other comments you may have.

  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Can I just say thanks to Friolero for their review - our son is 8 (17kg) and wears Libero size 7s. I've been reading these reviews and wondering how big the Lidl size 6s are, whether they would be suitable for him when attempting to toilet train this winter - now I know to go and buy some!

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

My child will be 3 in December and we tested the size 6 pull up pants. She is toilet trained during the day and only uses them at bedtime.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I really liked the pull ups. Even when my (very independent) daughter decided to dress herself for bed at put the pull ups on, there were still no leaks.
They felt very soft and my DD was comfortable in them. They fit well and didn’t cause any rashes etc.
The images on the pull ups were a bit rubbish but I suppose nobody really sees it anyway so wouldn’t prevent me from buying them.

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Yes I would if I was in Lidl and needed pants.

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

Age 5. Size 6+

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I like the absorbancy, gender neutral designs, comfort and value. I did not like the stretchy waistband that one of the packs had.

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes.

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Yes. Excellent value and good fit.

Friolero · 26/11/2017 07:22

You're welcome Eggysmom, I hope they fit your son ok. I'd say the quick pants have a stretchier waistband and better fit than the smart pants so I'd recommend those more if there's an choice. Good luck with the toilet training.

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?
2 years old for nap times, size 5.

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
I liked the stretchy waist band and fit on quality 2.
We had a leak issue with quality 1 which happened twice, not sure why.

  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
    Yes

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
Yes they did a pretty good job and we have a Lidl close by.

Belager · 27/11/2017 11:06
  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use? DD is 16 months, we had size 5
  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? We currently use pampers pull ups and there is a notable difference in quality. The Lidl ones felt rougher and thinner. I wasn’t sure if I was being biast, knowing they were a different brand, so I also gave to DP and DM who also weren’t as impressed.
  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation? No, as mentioned above I didn’t like the quality. We had a few overspills in the Lidl ones, and I even alternated between pampers and the lidl ones. The pampers always held everything. The lidl ones struggled whenever she pooed
  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why? No, I didn’t like the quality and cant trust them to contain their contents

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?
She has just turned 2 and we used size 5

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
They were really soft and easy to use. The elasticated part on the side did not rip easily which was a bonus. The size 5 we used was a little larger than other brands size 5 I thought.

  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
Yes they were really good with no leaks and my child was happy wearing them

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
Yes, they are good value and suited my child

Ntinyn · 28/11/2017 13:10
  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?
    Age 3, size 5.

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Loved the designs and price. I love the sticky tab too. Hated how rigid they left.

  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
No, we normally use pampers baby dry pants, they are more expensive but they are so so soft. These feel like cardboard.

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
I'd buy them in an emergency but no I wouldn't drive to Lidl to buy these.

caramelchaos · 29/11/2017 20:53

Thank you for the opportunity to take part!

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

Dd is 2 and we tried size 5

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I didn't like the ones which had the less stretchy waistband (q1) and found that they fitted really poorly. Dd is slim and they were very baggy round the waist. Despite this, there were no leaks although they would sag. Loved q2, the nappy with the stretchy waist. They fitted brilliantly and looked comfy.

  1. Would you recommend thethe Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
Not with the first pack but definitely with the second.

  2. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
I would buy the second pack, they fitted well, absorbed well and looked comfy. Much easier to put on that a normal nappy! Also liked the sticky strip.

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?
We tested out the size 5 pants on my 1 year old.

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Initially when they arrived, we thought they would perform just like many of the supermarket own brands and so wasn’t particularly expecting anything surprising. We had two “qualities” or nappy pants to try - I’m not sure what exactly the difference was (ie if one was a premium or more expensive nappy pant or or if one was new and improved) but quality 2 appeared to be thicker and have a better fit. However the slimmer “quality 1” nappy was just as good and was really impressive was that we had no leaks! Usually this has always been an issue with my son and almost an expectation particularly in the morning when changing his “night nappy” and when changing a poo nappy - and that’s even when spent more and used Pampers nappies! Plus my son now doesn’t keep still for nappy changes so the pants definitely made life easier and the fit was really good despite all his wriggling and mischief that he gets up to during the day!

  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
    Yes - definitely.

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
Yes, definitely! We’ve truly been converted and now hunting down our closet Lidl to stock up! (No doubt will end up doing our shopping there at the same time!). Usually we wait for pampers nappies to be on offer and then stick up on those - these out performed them and are always at an affordable price.

Belmo · 30/11/2017 14:39

Did other people get two different types? Am not seeing anything on the feedback! I much preferred the'quality 2' ones, so will answer for those!

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

18 months, size 5

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

Really really liked them. Loved how soft they were (almost frilly? Nicest disposables I've used) No leaks, and liked the wee bit for taping them up.

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Definitely. Ds liked them and I did too!

sukubus1980 · 30/11/2017 14:40

My boy is 19 months now. Those nappies are good however I think other brands are better. I would recommend to someone who is looking at good value mid quality nappies. I m not sure if I woukd buy them again...

Stitchsmum · 30/11/2017 15:10
  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

16 months, we used size 5.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I liked them, they looked cheaper than other brands but they worked just as well as any others I have tried. I preferred sample 2 as they were much softer and seemed more comfortable.

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes I think I would.

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

I don't think I would buy them if they were the same as sample 1 but I would if they were sample 2, they didn’t leak, they seemed comfortable and my boy never got nappy rash for the whole time he was wearing them so they seemed to be kind to his skin. Also they are much cheaper than some of the leading brands.

MyHandsAreHighMyFeetAreLow · 30/11/2017 16:38
  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?
Size 6 on my 3yo DS

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
They were nice. A bit stiffer than premium brands and the character designs looked a bit cheap but overall they did the job well with no leaks and they looked nice and comfortable when they were on. I liked the ones with the soft webbed sides best. I didn't like the sellotape thing on the back, I know it's for sealing it afterwards but it seemed a bit surplus to requirements as it was going straight into a nappy sack anyway

  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
    Yeah, I probably would

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
Yes, if I was in Lidl then I would buy them as they're good value for money and didn't leak

MrsPeel1 · 30/11/2017 17:14
  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?
My daughter has just turned 3. She was in size 6.

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
In the time between registering and receiving them my daughter potty trained so I only used these at night. I found that they were not as absorbing as other supermarket own brands. I did like the tab used to secure a used nappy

  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation? Not as a night time nappy but maybe as a daytime one.

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why? No. I only need nighttime pants and these weren’t quite up to it.

Madz1982 · 01/12/2017 07:55

1.How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?
3 and we used size 6
2) What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
I had tried Lidl’s nappies before and weren’t that impressed but these new improved nappies are brilliant! Better stretch and comfort and no leaks!
3) Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
Yes and I already have!
4) Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
yes I will be buying these regularly instead of my old preferred brand (mamia)

taffetatee · 01/12/2017 15:03
  1. Size 6 for an almost 3 year old
  2. I generally liked - - felt we're on par with other brands that i tried. Only criticism would be that one set felt a little narrow across her bottom cheeks.
  3. Yes I would recommend
  4. We are potty trained now so no need for anymore but would use again for any future children.
melanieb32 · 03/12/2017 11:38
  1. 2 years and we tested size 5.
  2. We liked the pattern, the size and quality of the pants, the fact that they weren't too bulky when wet and that they were easy to put on and take off.
  3. I would happily recommend to other mums, friends and family.
  4. I will definitely consider buying these pants again.
Hendersonsisnotrelish · 03/12/2017 19:12
  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

14 months size 5

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I liked the type 2 pull ups. They were soft and absorbent. Easy to put in unlike some other brands
3) Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Possibly yes depending on price

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Yes definitely because they are handy for wriggly walking babies

cookiefiend · 04/12/2017 22:16
  1. she was a few weeks under 2.

  2. I liked them- the sides seemed flexible and soft, very similar to pampers.

  3. Yes

  4. I already have! We used to use cloth, but DD2 desperately wants to potty train. We moved her to pants, which was hit and miss which was to be expected and was fine until she ended up on antibiotics with a upset stomach. These arrived at the perfect time. I now need to move back to pants, but these have been a good compromise as she can still use the toilet.

outedmyselfagain · 05/12/2017 01:28

How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

Not quite 2 and a half. We tested the Size 5

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

Pack 2 didn't look as compact as some other brands so they didn't fit as neatly into the pouch I use for nappies when we go out. But otherwise, fairly attractive, soft, comfy and absorbant. No leaks here.
It's a shame the pictures on them was obscured.

Pack 1 wasn't as soft, but no leaks.

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

If I was near a Lidl, quite possibly, but I wouldn't go out of my way to search one out just for the pull-up pants. They were good, but I didn't find them better than their competitors.

Hanhan28 · 07/12/2017 21:16

My daughter is 4 and a half and we tried the size 6 at night time only.
I really like these pull up pants, easy to put on and no leaks, I preferred sample 2 just seemed a better fit.
I would definitely recommend to a friend, they are good value for money and a good quality nappy.
I would definitely buy them again if I was in Lidl, the nearest one is about 20 miles away so not a convenient location but if I happened to be in there I would definitely purchase them.
Thank you for letting me try them

NEMSparkle · 08/12/2017 15:20

I used size 5 on both my 1.5 and 2.5 year old dds.
I found them quiet awkward to get on and off and found the fit not quite right either. One pack was softer than the other but found both not very good at keeping bottoms dry and we did have some redness when used. Will be sticking to Boots and pampers, was disappointing as the Lidl Nappies we used in the newborn days were good.

Jedimum1 · 08/12/2017 16:07
  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

My son is 2 and a half years. Be used size 5.

  1. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I liked them visually but the performance was very poor. They leaked every time and I had three dirty nappy leakages before I gave up. I handed one to my friend whilst she was at home, to change her daughter, who is the same age but of slimmer built, and she had exactly the same issue. I had to wash her trousers and give her a different brand.

I liked the design and that the sides were comfy and stretchy.
I didn't like the coverage at the back, they were much narrower than the Pampers I use, didn't fit towards the sides. I felt I was putting a "Brazilian" nappy, as a portion of the bum cheeks wasn't fully covered.

  1. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation

No, they leaked every time

  1. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

No, the saving on nappies doesn't cover an extra laundry and the hassle it involves / the mess it creates. I rather buy Pampers when on offer

milliemoon · 08/12/2017 16:11

This thread is for the 250 Mumsnetters who tested Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants with their DCs.

The following items were tested:

Junior Smart Pants Size 5 for weights: 29-44lbs 13-20kg - 20 in a pack (RRP £2.09)
Junior Nappies Big / XL Smart Pants Size 6 for weights: 35+ lbs 16+ kg - 18 in a pack (RRP £2.09)

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use? Age 1 )nearly 2 years). Size 5
  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? I really wanted to rate these highly, they were soft and thin. However, my little boy kept tugging at them as if he was in discomfort and they also didn't keep him as dry. I wasn't keen on the design.
  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation? I'm sorry, probably not.
  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why? No I, afraid not as they didn't seem to suit my little boy. Thank you for the opportunity though
