Mind Candy asked us to recruit MNers with at least one DC aged 5-8 to test their new subscription service, containing fun Moshi-themed activities and games. The boxes work in conjunction with the Moshi Egg Hunt Mobile Game, which can be downloaded for free on iOS and Android. Selected testers were sent a letter from Moshlingologist Buster Bumblechops, enlisting their DCs to help in a quest to retrieve a special stolen egg. This was then followed up by the first in a series of Mystery Boxes, containing crafts and activities.

Here’s what Mind Candy have said about the product: ‘The experience begins when your DC receives an exciting personalised letter in the post, in which Buster Bumblechops explains that a very special Moshling egg has been stolen and that he’ll soon be sending a Moshi Mystery Box, jam-packed with clues, activities and missions. The first box contains fun art and craft activities, Moshi collectables, a comic strip, jokes and much more. And if you decide to sign up, there will be two more Moshi Mystery Boxes to follow.

A simple story runs across all three boxes, taking your child on a quest across Monstro City. Each box is also themed - box one is the Frostipop Glacier, two is Potion Ocean and three is all about the Gombala Gombala Jungle! The first box will also contain a pack of trading cards that can be scanned to unlock exclusive characters in the 100% free Moshi Monsters Egg Hunt Mobile Game!’

Testers - if you’ve been sent your mystery box, please leave your feedback on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw for a £300 voucher of your choice (from a list).

Here are the questions Mind Candy would like you to answer:

  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
- Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?

Thanks for taking part and good luck with the prize draw.

What did your DC do first when they received the letter and their box?
She tore both of them open with excitement! I helped her to read the letter and the contents of the box.

Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
The balloons and the little moshlings. She did the balloon activity immediately and has done it now a couple of times.

Did you download the mobile game? How did the find it?
Not yet, I may do but she didn't seem too interested.

These will be priced at £9.99 per box or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
The price does seem a little expensive for what you get.

What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
She did love it. When the letter arrived she was so excited and kept asking how Moshi Monsters knew her name as she used to love collecting the moshlings. She couldn't wait for the box to arrive but I must admit the novelty did wear off quickly apart from the balloons.

How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Not very likely based on the fact that she lost interest quickly and the price.

How do you think the experience could be improved?
Maybe by including some different free gifts. She used to love collecting the moshlings so maybe a couple of new or exclusive figures.

SecretlyobsessedbyLego · 21/06/2017 14:36

When I told my son he'd be getting something in the post he was excited. Once his letter arrived and he knew there was a follow up box he pestered for days and days until it came. I think the time frame between the letter and box could do with being a few days shorter. He loved getting post with his name on.

He liked the little moshlings and has put them with his moshi monster collection that we had to collect from his grandads. They're still being played with daily.

We plan to download the game this weekend as the weather has been too nice and he has limited time on the iPad. I will feedback on that later.

I think for what you get it's quite a costly amount to be honest. I think it's over priced. I wouldn't have expected it to be £9.99!

He thought the box was exciting and liked having his name on things. The box certainly looked really fun and colourful. There was a decent amount of items in there at initial glance but not all 'useful', some items were just like fillers to pad the box out. That being said, it's a good rainy day activity box, albeit a bit of an expensive rainy day.

Unlikely to upgrade as I think it's overpriced and there was probably only 50% of it that I thought was any good. Certain elements I could do cheaper myself or for free.

Quicker turnaround between letter and box would be better to avoid nagging children. Maybe clearer instructions as my husband thought you put two moshlings in one balloon due to how it was phrased when he should have done two balloons. I would have done two but he didn't read it the same as me. In the end we had to stick the frozen ball into a sink of warm water to get the moshlings. I was hoping something exciting might have happened like they grew bigger....sadly not!

Fun activity but wouldn't pay £9.99. Thanks for letting us take part :)

TerryTriceratops · 21/06/2017 14:57

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

Opened it - then handed it to me to read!

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
The balloons! (Cheap and cheerful!)
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
We haven't done this yet - hopefully at the weekend.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
I think these are probably a bit too expensive, sorry.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
Presentation was lovely - I was impressed. Not sure my 5 year old noticed too much though!
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
I don't think so. The box contained a couple of fun things, but tbh I think my son was s little bit too young for it. Or maybe he just doesn't know enough (anything) about Moshi monsters!
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
Maybe more explanation about what moshi monsters are?! (My ignorance!) Thanks for letting us take part - nice post is always welcome!
NatalieC02 · 21/06/2017 14:59

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

My DS was very excited to receive the letter and the box (more so the letter as he had been waiting for the box, the letter was a surprise) He loved that he had post all to himself.

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?

The tiny moshi monsters, yes still playing with it.

  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?

Haven't done as yet, as have just moved house and are waiting for wifi but he knows that it is coming.

  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

I guess for the brand they are well priced and in line with what I expected however, I think for the time levels that my son got out of it the price is too high. That may be as a 5 year old, he is too young for too much independent play and it might be something worth revisiting in a couple of years.

  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

DS loved the personalisation! That was undoubtedly his favourite bit. The box he was a little thrown by; he delved straight in and opened everything but then had to wait while I figured out what he was supposed to be doing. As others have said I thought it would be a treasure hunt following on the theme of the letter. He did very much enjoy the freezing of the balloon activity though.

  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

Not as yet but maybe when he's a little older as I like the concept and I think it is something he will enjoy when he can figure it out.

  • How do you think the experience could be improved?

Link the letter to the box, each completed activity could give the child a word which then spells out the final clue to help them complete the mystery.

MummyBtothree · 21/06/2017 15:01

ButtonMoonLoon - I'm not very impressed either. My son has been really upset and I can't give him any explanation. I can't see what the delay is or why we aren't getting any proper explanation Sad

NatalieC02 · 21/06/2017 15:03

Would also like to say a big thank you as DS and I really enjoyed the process and being involved. I think part of the waiting for the box was actually one of his favourite parts (he picked up the post every day!)

agnapoop · 21/06/2017 15:05

My daughter was so excited when she received the letter, She took it into school to show all her friends. When she received the box she was even more excited and couldn't wait to open it. I had to help with the challenges which I thought were a bit hard for a 5 year old.
If it was a little less expensive then I would consider getting more boxes for her.
The personalisation is a great you h and made my daughter feel special.

gazsm · 21/06/2017 15:08
  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

My DD opened everything in the box, every packet and envolope, she was super excited

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?

funnily enough the penguin, shes mad for little figures and the penguin really tickled her fancy

  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?

she is still having lots of fun with it. the cards are great fun too

  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

seems fair and inline with other similar products

  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

getting her own post is always exciting so getting a letter and then a parcel really surprised her, i think it was a bit wordy for her at 5 but she enjoyed having it read to her

  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

it would be a treat so it would be something we would but if she had been good

  • How do you think the experience could be improved?

I think if there was an option to buy seperat;y rather than as a subscription

BeyondOfbob · 21/06/2017 15:52

Ds2 wanted me to show you his egg

"Experiment how to get inside" didn't take long, running under a hot tap in 30 degree heat Grin

mumsbe · 21/06/2017 15:52

Thanks so much for choosing my daughter for the trial

  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
She was so excited and was asking when the box was coming.
  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
She loved the cards but and the little unicorns but most of all the little gingerbread moshlin
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
It was easy to download and my daughter enjoyed playing it. She was more interested in scratching the cards.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
I think its expensive for what you get I would have said £5.99 for 1 £10.99 for 2 maybe. But I am sure my daughter will ask enough times to get the next boxes.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
I thought the presentation was great very bright and eye catching.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Even though i think its a little expensive my daughter was more excited about this box coming in the post than christmas and going to Disneyland. so yes i will be getting the rest of them.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
my daughter thinks its fantastic so for her nothing
poopoopoo · 21/06/2017 16:14

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
He sat with his sister on the floor by the door and got very excited. His sister (age 10) was surprisingly interested and I kept having to remind her to let him do it! He wanted to do everything immediately and they set about reading and working out what to do. I was pleased I just left them to it and they were able to do it all by themselves. It was great to keep them entertained for a while!

Which was their favorite item from the box and are they still playing with it?

He loved making the frozen eggs, and they want to freeze the little moshlings today again in new balloons.

Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?

We are going to do that today.

These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

Far too expensive for what you get!

What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

He loved getting the letter and was really excited to get the box, Thank you!

How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

Sorry we can't afford it at the moment.

How do you think the experience could be improved?

He would have liked new characters no one has seen before. He is into fidget spinners also and said they could have one of those and a game related to both. He would have liked a competition.

BearAusten · 21/06/2017 16:30

_What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box? Spread everything on the floor, opened envelopes and found the Moshlings. Very excited. Didn't know what to do first.

_Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it? The Moshlings and the balloon experience. It was a bit chaotic especially as we did it after a long day out, near bedtime. Moreover, neither of us are very good at following instructions. Initially, I attempted filling the balloon in the bathroom and made a bit of mess, as well as soaking my ds. My husband then took over. We had a go with the salt and pipette the next day. Enjoyable and educational activity.

They are still playing with the Moshlings, mixing them up with their Lego creations.

_Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it? He seems to be enjoying it. However, not the best part of the box.

_These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price? Not horrendous when you think how much children's magazines cost.

_What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation? He enjoyed the diverse range of fun activities. Very impressed. He has asked for the next box.

_How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Not too sure.

_ How do you think the experience could be improved? Perhaps a longer comic strip for children to read themselves.

Not so much a matter of improving the experience. However, I would be more inclined to buy the box if I could purchase them one at a time through Amazon or another retailer (be great if you could get them at large supermarkets.)

PurpleCrazyHorse · 21/06/2017 16:31

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
My 7yo DD squealed and promptly cut it open with scissors before spotting the tear strip on the back!

Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
DD's favourite items were the tiny little moshi monsters and they're now in her bed. She particularly enjoyed freezing them in the balloons and we were pleased there were several balloons in the packet.

Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
No, DD hasn't asked to and I haven't encouraged it as I don't like her to play on the iPad during the week. I will look at the weekend and update my feedback.

These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
Expensive. Definitely not worth £9.99 for some paper, experiment bits, two small moshi monsters, a larger moshi monster and a pack of cards. DD has a Toucan Box posted to her with craft stuff in it for £5.95 which is loads better value.

What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
She liked her name on the letter but I don't think she's worked out what to do at all. She hasn't really read any of the paper and just opened the packets and did the frozen balloon egg. To be honest, I couldn't see any obvious starting point with the papers in the box and I'm not sure what we were really meant to do. I think a booklet which guides you through the mystery clues in order would be more directive.

How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
We will not be continuing the boxes. I think if they were in the £5-£6 price I would just because DD enjoyed some of it. However, the box is now on the sideboard and I'm not sure when it will next be opened. I've purposely left it out so DD has free access (usually I bin stuff left lying around!)

How do you think the experience could be improved?
The activities to be in a booklet format that guides you through the mystery. I don't think DD knew where to start and I've not always got the time to sit down and read all the things. What we like about her Toucan Box is that it arrives and she just gets on with it (this has a booklet that gives all the instructions and other activities in it).

The price is too expensive for what you get. Either include more moshi monsters you can keep or reduce the price.

userinfinity · 21/06/2017 17:15
  1. I didn't tell DD anything at all about what was to come so when she saw a letter addressed to her, she was very excited. I thought the letter beforehand was a very nice touch and set the scene perfectly. It was DD herself that collected the post when the box arrived and she ran to tell me that she'd received the mystery box.
She opened it all up and had a good explore of all the contents and read the second letter.
  1. She loved the figures and couldn't wait to try out the activities which seemed to me to be perfect - nothing too complex and fun and I liked how main equipment needed was included.
  1. We still need to spend more time with the game to experience it fully aswe are currently trying to reduce their screen time. They are however, happy just 'collecting' cards.
  1. I find the price quite high to be honest.
  1. The overall experience was good. I think there needs to be a bit more clarity over what is actually expected of them. Maybe a sheet for parents contains an overview.
  1. If the price was right then maybe would consider a subscription.
  1. As mentioned maybe a parent overview sheet
Epictantrum · 21/06/2017 17:32

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

I think DS liked the letter almost more that the box, he was very excited to get a letter addressed to him with the promise of the box to come.
When the box arrived it was a frenzy of opening, followed by tears as we had to stop and go to school!

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?

The balloons with moshlings to freeze, but not still playing with it.

  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?

He loves the app and keeps going back to it.

  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

It think it is too expensive. I wonder whether everything in the box is essential, e.g. most people have salt and glue sticks at home, this could make it more economical.

  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

I think the experience was great and he really enjoyed it.

  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

I don't think I will; it is expensive and I fear that it will lose its novelty value.

  • How do you think the experience could be improved?

Tie the activities more in with the story? It wasn't clear to me why we were e.g. freezing the moshlings.

reformedgeek · 21/06/2017 17:48
  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
DS loved the letter and read it out loud. A few tricky letters. When the box arrived there was general excitement and enjoyed the cards.
  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
Enjoyed the cards and the mobile game.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
Thought the game was great (and free) and enjoyed the codes from the cards. Actually liked the mobile game more than the pack
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
Far too expensive - should be similarly priced to kids magazines which are £3-4 for impulse purchase
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
Ok nothing special aside from mail merged names
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
No
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
There was talk of a hidden egg which make DS think an egg would be hidden in the house not a balloon frozen in the freezer. Too much "tat" that seemed to be recycled from kids magazine - word searches and colouring was a bit weak and still not completed The cut out eggs and paint was pointless - maybe more stickers! Grin
raviolig · 21/06/2017 18:02
  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
She was excited about having a letter addressed to her and the thought of the box, and asked daily if it had arrived. When it arrived she was excited to open it and look through it.
  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
The figures and yes she still plays with them
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
Yes. It was ok but didn't hold her attention for long
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
Very expensive for what you get in them
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
She liked it
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Very unlikely
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
The price could be lower and the contents of the box need more instructions. It would be better to have a sheet for parents to explain it all.
CreamKnackered · 21/06/2017 18:33

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
She was overjoyed to get a letter addressed to her and was really intrigued by the message. In the week before the box appeared she kept looking outside the front door for the parcel.

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
Her favourite activity was the frozen egg game with the balloons - coupled with the heatwave they went down a treat.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
No haven't done that yet, though plan to as she loves playing games on the iPad.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
That's more than I would pay for one box.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
She loved it!
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
Not sure.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
The language in the letter was a little difficult for my 6 year old to understand.
Snafflebrain · 21/06/2017 18:44

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box? DS was very excited to receive his personalised letter and the fun stamp was a nice touch. He asked me lots of questions about what Moshis were. When the box arrived he wasnt as interested in the characters as he was the activities and map.

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it? The map.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it? DS is 5 and he was quite interested in the puzzle games but not in spending his rox on things for his moshling. I had to help with some of the games as its above his reading level/comprehension.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price? too expensive for what they are.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation? DS loved the box through the post and the activities. But the cards were ignored once code scratched off. I would have liked the cards to be more playable/collectable as DS only allowed ipad once a day so limited interactivity.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series? will not be continuing.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved? The initial box is a little confusing as just a jumble of papers and envelopes with no real order to them so took a while for it to become clear. Cards should have a top trump type element or be more collectable in some way. The app games are quite limited - as a comparable both my DC find the free shopkins game app far more engaging and varied so will play for longer (and occasionally entice me into paying £4 for an add-on). DS quickly lost interest in the moshi app and games within it.
vanillavelvet · 21/06/2017 18:56
  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
My DD was very excited about the letter and couldn't wait to receive the box. She was very excited when that arrived and set about the activities straight away.
  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
She loved both activities and it kept her amused for an hour or more, but hasn't really done much more with it since then.
  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it? We haven't done this yet, but still plan to.
  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?
My DD had asked to sign up for the next box. I'm not sure if £9.99 might be a bit pricey for me.
  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
She loved it. She loved that it was addressed to her.
  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?
I'll need to give it some thought.
  • How do you think the experience could be improved?
My DD thought it was great. I think the price is what is making me think twice just now.
AdamantEve · 21/06/2017 19:06
  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

my DD was so excited to receive her letter and took it to school for show and tell the next day! As with other testers, she waited and waited for the box and when it eventually arrived she was over the moon and rapidly started emptying the bags inside

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?

she liked the moshlings and they have gone to live with her shopkins but they are treated more as an ornament, she doesn't really play with them. The balloon ice eggs were a big hit and she has recreated this multiple times with our own balloons so that was definitely a winner. The jokes were also a hit and she keeps asking me to read them to her. They also went to school for show and tell. I'm sure her teacher loves me!

  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?

yes we did. DD enjoyed waiting for the egg to hatch each day and the games were appropriate for her age and quite educational (especially the maths based ones) so I am happy with it too

  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

Far too expensive in comparison to similar craft boxes. I was shocked when I saw how much they would cost

  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

DD really liked the box but is a bit confused about the egg mystery as she and I don't quite understand what involvement we have in finding the egg, e.g there are no actual clues to follow. She loved her name being on the letter

  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

If it was up to my child then definitely yes but my bank balance is saying otherwise

  • How do you think the experience could be improved?

I have found the overall theme of the box a bit confusing. We are told we will have clues to follow to help solve the mystery of the stolen egg but the box we received doesn't really play out like that. I also think you could put a sticker or something on each bag saying which activity the contents are for, just to make it more user friendly rather than having to pull everything out in one go. And please consider reducing the price!

Houseof5boys · 21/06/2017 20:11
  • What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?

DS was really excited to receive his box, he'd been waiting every day for it to arrive.
He loved opening it up and seeing what was inside.

  • Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?

I've just asked DS what his favourite item was and he said the balloons! He really enjoyed doing the craft activities.

  • Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?

Yes we did, he spent quite a long time playing on it and scanning the cards, However, since then he hasn't asked to go on it again.

  • These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

Far too expensive for me I'm afraid, I think I'd rather stick just with the app and if he was interested maybe the odd extra pack of cards.

  • What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?

He loved the fact that it was personalised and that he had post to open. He was also quite impressed with all the bits inside.

  • How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

Unfortunately not as it's far too expensive for us to justify.

  • How do you think the experience could be improved?

Maybe make it clearer what is inside each of the craft bags and what they are for. DS ripped them both open straight away and was a bit puzzled as to why he had been sent salt! Obviously further investigation found the cards but maybe a label on each bag.

My eldest daughter loves anything to do with Moshi Monsters and was so excited when she received her letter, especially as I hadn't told her about it beforehand. She was flabbergasted that there was a letter for her which quite obviously wasn't from my sister who lives further away and writes occasionally. Her face lit up as she was reading the letter and she was very excited to tell me about it. She now waits for the post eagerly each morning & can't wait to receive her box. She doesn't seem too bothered about the delay but I was expecting it sooner because the letter said to, but I understand it's a product test though if I was paying a subscription I probably would have been unhappy about it. But as I say she's still eagerly anticipating the box & I'll feed back further once she's received the box. I only hope her 4 year old sister doesn't find it first...!

What did your DC do first when they received their letter and their box?
My son was very excited to get a letter with his name on. He eagerly waited for the box to arrive.

Which was their favourite item from the box and are they still playing with it?
He liked the little moshi collectable the best, and played with it for a few days but then he has moved onto his other toys.

Did you download the mobile game? How did they find it?
This has been the best bit for my son, he loves mobile games, and has played on it many times. He had no problems playing it really (he is 5) but he has been rather frustrated at bits that need a code, so his dad has helped with that.

These will be priced at £9.99 per box, or a bundle of two boxes at £17.99. What are your thoughts on the price?

A little bit expensive- for this kind of thing, which we might buy as a treat or to reward good behaviour-we would normally spend something around £5-6.

What did your DC think of the overall Mystery Box experience and personalisation?
The letter and box were lovely to look at-there was a nice element of anticipation-my son loves getting things with his name on, it felt special.

How likely are you to upgrade to a paid subscription, so that your DC can continue with the next two boxes in the series?

Very unlikely.

How do you think the experience could be improved?
Make it cheaper.
