We’re looking for 70 Mumsnetters to test the Fellowes AeraMax DX55 Air Purifier (RRP £199.99).

Here’s what Fellowes have to say: “Studies indicate that indoor air can be up to 5 times more polluted than outdoor air. Combined with the fact that many people spend up to 90% of their time indoors, it starts to become clear why the quality of indoor air is so important. Environment Protection Agency

The Fellowes AeraMax™ Air Purifiers use a combination of the most effective filtration and cleaning methods as part of a 4-stage filtration process to remove 99.97% of airborne pollutants and particles down to 0.3 microns in size. This level of performance combined with a feature set and interface designed for any indoor environment, makes it the perfect clean air solution.”

If selected, you’ll need to test the Fellowes AeraMax DX55 Air Purifier for two weeks and give feedback by posting on a feedback thread as well as completing a short survey.

All those who give feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher.

If you’re interested in taking part, please sign up here.

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

I'm really intrigued by this, I would love to try it

isthatmorelego · 03/01/2017 23:47

Applied one son really struggles with asthma and our second d son who is the youngest has multiple allergies to dust, damp, asthma, tree pollen various other untested reactions .

TheNiffler · 09/01/2017 12:16

Oh my gosh, I've been chosen. Thank you SO much, I'd do anything to make my asthma even a little bit better.

100milesanhour · 09/01/2017 13:23

Thank you for picking me 😀

TheNiffler · 09/01/2017 14:51

Exciting isn't it 100 😃

100milesanhour · 09/01/2017 15:53

Super excited! I wonder if we get to keep it...

Madcats · 09/01/2017 18:15

Does anybody know when we get to start testing?

On another site I read that it was good for sucking up flu/cold viruses. DD and DH have so far managed to avoid "that cough" that struck me down at New Year. I'd love to be a bit less of a social outcast now that I am feeling a bit better. Grin

GooodMythicalMorning · 09/01/2017 19:09

Picked too. Haven't done a product test for years so this will be brilliant. We're a house of allergy sufferers too and lots of pets so I bet this will help us.

100milesanhour · 09/01/2017 19:55

Madcats - I've no idea when we get to start testing. I wonder when it will arrive, I can't wait to start using it!

GMM - I hope it helps your family. We had to rip up all of our carpets because of my husbands allergies, he's slightly better with hardwood floors but still affected severely but other things.

Theimpossiblegirl · 09/01/2017 21:10

Usually if there is a specified testing period, it just means feedback has to be entered several times over that time, so it is a more detailed product test rather than an initial impression. Really hoping we get to keep them, what will they do with a load of used air purifiers? (also, really want to still have it for grass seed/pollen season)

TheNiffler · 10/01/2017 00:20

Ooh good, I hope that is so - winter is hellish because of dust and mould, I live in an old house, and it's always there no matter what( but summer is even worse with all the pollen added in.

maddiemostmerry · 10/01/2017 07:57

Did you receive an email asking you to confirm full name and address?

Just want to confirm it's a legit email! Thanks

Thank you for choosing me - yay! Just a quick question - I got an email from Justine and I replied yesterday and another one today saying I hadn't responded. Just want to make sure I am picked and my reply hasn't gone astray...

ilovesprouts · 10/01/2017 15:33

Hi only just received my email hope I'm still in Justine ??

ilovesprouts · 10/01/2017 15:34

I dint get a email only the one today hope I'm still a tester??

jellyshoeswithdiamonds · 10/01/2017 15:35

Thank you for picking me.
Missed the original email (can't seem to find it) so the text was essential or I'd have missed my chance.

Thrilled!

greengoose · 10/01/2017 16:00

Done! Really chuffed to be selected!

ilovesprouts · 10/01/2017 16:51

Well I got picked only saw the email after 3pm so it's gone to someone else cheers mumsnet Shock

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 10/01/2017 18:06

I was picked too, replied to an email yesterday but haven't had a text? Hoping it's gone through ok and that I'm still on the list!!

Does seem odd that it hasn't said what happens at the end of the test. I've kept a product I tested in the past, and I think most product tests I've seen advertised have stated you keep them at the end, aside from the cars which they obviously always state must be returned at the end!! But this doesn't say either way, so fingers crossed we do!

100milesanhour · 10/01/2017 18:15

I wonder when we will receive them. I'm really excited about trialling this product. I can't wait to start seeing the difference.

Burntbum · 10/01/2017 18:18

I replied to the email but I haven't had a text! Hope I'm in. Smile

MrsMarigold · 10/01/2017 18:24

I got the email to say I'd been picked, Horray!
