This is the feedback thread of the 500 Mumsnetters who are testing PitROK Extra Sensitive deodorant.

Here’s what PitROK have to say: “It’s a sensitive time being a New Mum. It can bring wonders and joy; but also nagging questions about our children’s environment and what’s good for our bodies. We spoke to 641 New Mums, and over 40% of them told us they had changed their Deodorant around this time to stop the irritation some Antiperspirants can cause; whilst enabling their bodies to perform more naturally. At PitROK we’ve been making naturally effective deodorant for over 20 years and many people swear by them. Please try our new Extra Sensitive deo - it’s been especially formulated by a Mum for New Mums.”

Testers, now that you've been testing the product for 3-4 weeks and given your first impressions on PitROK Extra Sensitive, we'd like you to complete this survey and answer the questions below:

  • What were your thoughts about the effectiveness of PitROK Extra Sensitive, given that it's a natural product?
  • Do you feel that PitROK Extra Sensitive has had an effect on either your sensitive skin or under arm irritation?

If you have any trouble with using the product or have any queries about PitROK Extra Sensitive whilst you’re testing, feel free to use PitROK’s Ask Alison feature where they will be able to answer your questions.

All testers who give the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Boots voucher.

Thanks, and good luck!

So I used it over the weekend on a weekend away. I was impressed (despite initial misgivings). However on the way home it leaked all over the bag, and I now have none to continue the test with Sad

Catherik · 19/09/2016 18:50

I'very been using the Pitrok spray for about a week. I am really impressed with it's deodorant capabilities. We'be had a couple of really hot muggy days, but my underarms still felt and (more importantly!) smelt fresh. I was a bit dubious at first as the spray goes everywhere and drips off, but so far so good.

Daffodil1210 · 19/09/2016 20:19

Generally good first impressions. No irritation (which I sometimes get with standard deodorants) but I would say it takes longer than 1 minute to dry on me and it wasn't great recently in the really warm weather - I felt like I was very smelly by lunchtime!

RaeSkywalker · 19/09/2016 20:23

Mine has randomly started leaking for no apparent reason (it's been stood the right way up in the bathroom cupboard since I took delivery of it).

I love the product, but I think that the packaging might need a few tweaks.

jackiekatu · 19/09/2016 21:06

The packaging was lush , even though it was said fragrance free there was a mild fragrance for the first 5 mins which was
Bearable and faded quickly .
The product really performed well for me , and lasted a whole day Smile there was no residue or irritation on my sensitive skin that flares up easily .
Would buy it again.

I like this deodorant. It has gentle ingredients and I don't mind the initial smell as it fades quuckly. I was impressed to see a pump bottle when I opened the envelope and although I found it quite runny to begin with I do like the way it feels.
I have been using this product for about a week without any issues.

snarferson · 19/09/2016 21:24

Sad sorry mn I havnt been able to pick mine up yet after hol as planned. FIL ended up in hospital with a DVT. Will try to get it tomorrow as have to stay off work to look after DD.

Batmam · 19/09/2016 23:03

Love the bottle design and subtle fragrance. I threw away the smaller cap straight away and it hasn't leaked even though I store it on it's side in a basket.

I agree that my armpits need to adjust and declog after using aerosols for so long, but now that I am pregnant I am so glad to have something natural to use as otherwise I'd use nothing at all and get very stinky.

Only downside atm is the liquid starts to run down my underarm before drying (but it does dry quickly which is good.) Ideally I'd use two pumps per armpit to ensure good coverage but don't as too much would run off. However I'm sure I'll get used to it!

MrsMonkeyBear · 20/09/2016 05:49

First impressions:

Love the packaging. It doesn't look like a deodorant, more an expensive hair product (luckily I haven't managed to mix it up with my hair spray.)

I love that it's a pump spray as it means it can be packed to go on my holidays soon.

First test was straight from the shower after shaving. Normally I wouldn't spray deodorant straight away as it stings too much. Pitrock on the other hand didn't.

Smell is pleasant but reminds me a little of a muscle pain spray I've used in the past.

It held up to a busy shift at work quite well but I still had a couple of wet patches under my arms on my uniform. As I'm a chef in a busy hotel this is an achievement though as normally I have to respray "normal" deodorant halfway through my shift.

So far I like it but I will keep testing it for the next couple of weeks.

GizmosBandana · 20/09/2016 08:44

I've only been testing the product for 2 days but first impressions have been pretty positive! The design of the packaging is good, it definitely stands out compared to others. I wasn't expecting a wet spray deodorant so was intrigued, although despite the 2 lids the product had leaked. I also lost the smaller lid straight away. I applied the product after showering as directed and although it was slightly inconvenient having to wait for it to dry before dressing, I was really impressed that it kept me dry and smelling fresh even after a 12 hour shift at work. The smell of the product when just applied is quite odd, not unpleasant but can't put my finger on what it reminds me of. However it was completely odourless after it had dried. So far I'm quite impressed!

justmeeee · 20/09/2016 10:02

Initial thoughts are that I really like the look of the product, the colours and design are appealing and something that I would look at on the supermarket shelf. However, the double cap is a bit annoying and I think just having one would be preferable - there was a bit of crystallised product around the outer cap when the product arrived, so perhaps the double cap is intended to stop this? If so, unfortunately it hasn't worked.

Application is easy and I like the spray which is not harsh like an aerosol and seems more hygienic than a roll on. I've been using three squirts of the product under each arm so far and it does run down the skin a little but dries quickly and I've not noticed any marks on clothing etc. I've only been using it for about 5 days so far and have noticed towards the end of the day that I'm getting a bit of body odour but am not unduly concerned given that the instructions say it takes 2-3 weeks for best results.

Happy with the ingredients list and that it doesn't contain any of the nasties that I try to avoid since becoming a mum. Looking forward to continuing with the trial!

ERRitsFTR · 20/09/2016 10:41

First impressions are that I like the packaging, it look clean and fresh, I love that there's no scent becaus I don't really like toiletries with smells and it feels nice when you put it on. So far so good Smile

lokahsamastah · 20/09/2016 14:35

First impressions are positive, I like that it's a pump action spray, and the colours and design are good. I was slightly concerned it might have a strong scent (suffering from HG at the moment so super sensitive nose) but it seems pleasant and doesn't linger. Not sweaty or smelly so far, and no staining on clothes. Fingers crossed it continues to do the job.

Macdat · 20/09/2016 15:27

I really love the deodorant. The only problems I have are the initial wetness when putting it on, and the directions to only use straight after getting washed so I can't use it to feel a little more freshened up during a long day as I liked to do with other deodorants.
To be honest though, it's natural ingredients without all the nasties so I understand it not working the same way and think it's an ok payoff.

One thing I've really loved is that I can spray it anywhere. I usually get dressed between the bedroom and bathroom, going between both, usually with my baby sitting close by. I always have to take my aerosols out of whichever room she's in or move away from her to the other side of the room because I'm not comfortable with her breathing all those chemicals. I can just spray this anywhere and not have to worry. I'm really really loving that.

cheekychicken103 · 20/09/2016 16:06

So It arrived in the post, and I opened the package very excited about testing this deodorant, My husband was in the room at the time and asked me if I could smell something funny... You guessed it- Pitrok I'm sorry there is no way I am going to use. It smells like wee!!
I actually wish you did a fragranced version because I love the concept of it being a natural product and was really looking forward to using it.

BowiesJumper · 20/09/2016 17:11

Just wanted to say, we went on a hike today and it didn't really stand up to the job, am a bit wiffy now! But I guess you need an antiperspirant when doing physical exercise.

NamelessEnsign · 20/09/2016 18:09

Hi there, thanks for sending PitRok for me to test. Here are my initial impressions:

Packaging:

Love the cool, crisp colours, typeface, and logo. I was surprised by the two lids and continue to find them fiddly.

Application:
The spray was also a surprise and I haven't used a pump spray before. It works well as long as I remember to apply before putting on any clothes; otherwise it runs a bit. It dries quickly enough and I enjoy the lack of residue/stickiness/marks. It feels light and I haven't particularly noticed a scent, which I like. I like the lack of aerosol as some strong scents aggravate my asthma.

Effectiveness: I don't typically suffer with body odour but post-pregnancy have had a few issues. I have found this effective for my needs and have noticed that it doesn't aggravate my eczema-prone skin, which is a huge plus.

I look forward to testing for a few more weeks.

I've been using this for about a week now. In general I'm getting on with it. I have got used to the initial wetness and this does not bother me anymore. My armpits have been clear of irritation (even Dove sensitive gave me a rash, the only one that doesn't is amplex). I have noticed on two mornings that I have been a bit whiffier than I would have previously been with Amplex (that's after wearing it for a whole day and overnight in bed without reapplying). I now have to reapply at night which means I'd be getting through it twice as fast as my alternative.

You alright Desmondo? Grin

trumpybum1 · 20/09/2016 22:08

The only thing I don't like so far is the scent. Equally I am struggling with only apply after a shower. I can't shower everyday as it really dries out my skin and hair. So I'm applying it even though I haven't had a shower (I'm a rebel).

P.S I shower ever other day. I'm not that scruffy!!!!!
