This is the feedback thread for the 250 Mumsnetters who tested LloydsPharmacy Solero sun creams.

Here’s what LloydsPharmacy has to say: “April 2016 sees the launch of our reformulated and re-packaged own brand of suncare range, Solero. We understand that our customers’ skin is as unique as they are, which is why we have introduced a range of suncream that is perfect for every type of skin – an ultra-sensitive range for skin prone to eczema (atopic dermatitis) and psoriasis, which has been dermatologically tested and approved, and a triple defence range that protects from 3 types of harmful rays, UV-A, UV-B and Infrared-A”

Non-tester? For a chance to win a LloydsPharmacy skin care hamper worth over £75 answer the below question:

  • What are your favourite holiday destinations for taking the kids away?

Q1: When and where did you test the sun cream?
In the afternoon in our garden.

Q2: How did you think LloydsPharmacy Solero compared to the brand you normally use?
I liked it. I prefered the scent of the triple defence to the kids version. However, I found both formulations a little too runny. Given the choice between this or Boots Soltan I would stick with Boots.

Q1: When and where did you test the sun cream?
We tested the sun cream just before we were going out for the day to the park. I applied it at home before we went outside. Both products were simple to apply and rubbed in easily. The smell was pleasant and not too overpowering.

Q2: How do you think LloydsPharmacy Solero compared to the brand you normally use?
I usually purchase Boots Soltan which is very similar in price. I would definitely purchase/try another product from the LloydsPharmacy sun cream range. I particularly liked the travel sized bottles - great for keeping inside your handbag without taking up too much room - particularly useful with the UK's unpredicable climate!

I love any of the Haven caravan sites. Always so much for the kids of any age to do and our own personal caravan to relax in.

clarabella12 · 26/06/2016 23:20

we love going on caravan breaks with entertainment as we're close to home incase anything goes wrong but can relax and enjoy at the same time.

Non-tester: In the UK we love Cornwall's rugged coastline and when abroad, Portugal. Both fantastic for families.

jamielmdjs · 27/06/2016 02:08

piggypoo · 27/06/2016 08:18

Writing as a non-tester. Our favourite destinations for holidays are Majorca, close to get to, warm and friendly, easy to get around.

mummsie72 · 27/06/2016 08:23

It has to be Disney in Orlando a dream destination for the kids.

nonnyno · 27/06/2016 10:18

Orlando, Florida, is my favourite destination for taking the kids away.

lexiemac13 · 27/06/2016 10:35

Our favourite holiday destinations are North Wales - Colwyn Bay, Anglesey, Llandudno in the UK and abroad we love visiting Legoland Denmark and the south of France.

Tested the suncreams out over the weekend while it was nice weather, easy to apply, was gentle on my youngest daughters skin, she has eczema and we struggle to find sun cream that doesnt irritate her, i would buy the full size bottles.

Uzma01 · 27/06/2016 11:24

Q1: When and where did you test the sun cream?
I've been using the samples with my children - before they head out to play/school.

Q2: How did you think LloydsPharmacy Solero compared to the brand you normally use?
Not so good given the need to reapply the cream several times a day. I much prefer the thicker ones which can be used up to 8 hours, enough though it is a mission washing them off one's hands after applying to the children.

Dessallara · 27/06/2016 13:11

We went to Turkey near Fethye on our first holiday as a family. Our daughter was nearly 2 years old. Had a great time, hotel was lovely and really enjoyed our first holiday :)

Chelsea159 · 27/06/2016 14:18

Q1. We tested both, kids spray and sensitive lotion over the weekend, In the garden and out and about.

Q2. I really liked the kids spray to apply it was a nice thin consistency however it did not absorb into the skin and my children and baby were left rather sticky throughout the day. Although maybe this is a good thing for protection. I possibly might buy if it was on offer.
The sensitive lotion, I didn't like as it took far to long to apply.

My favourite place is Mumbles and along the Gower - plenty of places to explore and different beaches to have fun.

legoland windsor always a big hit

fudduk · 27/06/2016 19:32

Q1: When and where did you test the sun cream?
I tested this over a weekend at the beginning of the month. I had the bottles in our changing bag.

Q2: How did you think LloydsPharmacy Solero compared to the brand you normally use?
I was not impressed that the UV Stars were a only a 3 Star rating, I usually buy Boots Sun Cream as these have 5 Stars and this is very important to us.
Other than this I thought that the suncream was good, smelt nice, easy to apply and good sized bottles for the changing bag. I won't be switching to this unless needed as an emergency when out.

rhinosuze · 27/06/2016 20:48

Majorca, so calm and safe

bearcub1 · 27/06/2016 21:28

Q1: When and where did you test the sun cream?
My son tested it when he went on his school trip. I used it when I was out all day at the weekend
Q2: How did you think LloydsPharmacy Solero compared to the brand you normally us
My son hates putting sunscreen on, but he said that the solero one rubbed in nicely and didn't sting his eyes. He was quite happy to put it on and didn't moan ;-)
I was happy that the sunscreen would protect him and the tester size was ideal to put into his bag for re application.
I was happy with the cream I tested too. It rubbed in well and gave a good level of protection.

KateOxford · 27/06/2016 22:19

We tested the lotions on a Sunday out - we were out for the day so the handy travel size bottles are prefect for taking out with us for reapplication and I will save them to top-up from a bigger bottle.

I normally use Boots Soltsn lotion, I buy it because it offers a high-factor, water resistance and is normally available at a very good price or on a buy one get one free offer. I would happily purchase the two products I tested; the ultra-sensitive and the kids lotion if they were available at the same price. I found them easy and convenient To use and it felt like a quality product.
