This is the feedback thread for the 500 Mumsnetters who tested Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate.

Here’s what Comfort has to say: “We are pleased to launch the NEW Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate. Following our fantastic launch of Comfort Intense last year, we were keen to offer an extension of this format suitable for sensitive skin. Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate offers the same loved fragrance, amazing softness and performance as Comfort Pure, number 1 laundry brand for sensitive skin*, but from just a tiny dose! Just one cap (15ml) is needed in your washing load and comes in a convenient small pack, either 38 washes or 64 washes from most major retailers. Incredible softness, from just a tiny dose!”

*Based on AC Nielsen, MAT value sales, 19/03/16.

Summary answers to Q1 & 2

Overall Impression- good product and packaging, does the job, would buy again.

Likes/dislikes- easy pour bottle is good, but would prefer stronger scent.

EDisFunny · 05/05/2016 10:35

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

It's fine, works just lije/as well as the less concentrated product.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I found the cap a bit fiddly and the plastic very soft. The number of loads is also less, 38 vs 42, than the larger product I normally use. If the retail price is over £3, when I pay about £2 now, then I probably won't switch.

I think the quality of the fabric softener is still good.

wannabestressfree · 05/05/2016 10:39

I love comfort products they are the only ones whose 'smell' lingers and my children comment on it. This was the same..shirts are beautiful, clean and boys love the smell. I probably over use and get through quite a lot but it's worth it to me.
Bottle- nice shape and easy to store.
Smell- lovely and stayed :)
Value- I prefer comfort so will pay for it.
Did I dislike anything-.no. just waiting their lynx combats smelly teenage boy range.

Byrdie · 05/05/2016 10:42
  1. Nice small bottle, easy to pour into the softener tray as the spout is longer and thinner than my usual bottle. Smelt nice!
  1. I liked that it smells nice. Mainly i like this: i washed two cotton school dresses (identical) one with my usual products and one with comfort. The one with comfort did not need ironing. The other one did. I'm sold.
TheCookingMonster · 05/05/2016 10:43

I loved this product test. The bottle was of a size and shape that was appealing.
The bottle was easy to store in a small space. I thought the smell was appealing in the bottle and equally appealing when I took the washing out of the machine and after it had dried.
My washing, particularly my towels were soft to the touch.
The price was also appealing and good value for money.

WineOrSleep · 05/05/2016 10:48

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I liked the smaller shape, always good for my over-filled and over-flowing cleaning cupboard! Simple, easy to hold bottle, but I found the lid tricker to not spill and overflow when measuring out, simply because it IS that bit smaller than usual sized lids! Blush

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I liked the fact it's concentrated, so I felt that I needed less- I am far too guilty of just pouring ad hoc into my fabric dispenser tray, so the fact this was so concentrated meant I had to measure- and used less than I needed to - saves waste & £'s!
Clothes smelt fresh and felt soft afterwards, and would happily use this on young babies
I think I would prefer the price a little lower, say around the £3 mark, as for 38 washes, I feel it's a tad dear

MummyBtothree · 05/05/2016 10:52
  1. My overall impression was that I love the scent and the size of the bottle was handy but it wouldn't last long in our house. I found myself using the same amount per wash as my usual fabric conditioner to achieve the softness and amount of scent on my clothes that I like.

  2. I loved the scent but found myself using the same amount so I can't really see myself buying this very much in the future unless it was on offer as it would work out very expensive for me.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to try this Smile

mynotfinkso · 05/05/2016 10:52

I like the compact size, the scent is good and the clothes are soft.

I usually use comfort pure so will probably buy it again if it's on offer. It does seem quite expensive as my machine holds 8kg so obviously I would need to use more than the stated amount.

Memom · 05/05/2016 10:52

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I will be buying it! Very impressed with the softness considering such a small dose.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I like the shape and size of the bottle and the ease of pour.

Was shocked by how runny it was but that wasn't an issue due to the little spout.

onitlikeacarbonnet · 05/05/2016 10:53

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I loved the smaller bottle! It fits in my cupboard which the really big bottle doesn't. I have to decant it into an old smaller one
Aesthetically I liked the matte look and it actually made it less slippy. I'm always dropping the bigger bottle or spilling it because the plastic is very soft and too squeezy. Maybe the bottle shape is a little too round as it's hard to grasp in one hand. The normal bottle that is. Smaller one is much easier.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I liked the pouring spout, less packaging and feel of the bottle.
I didn't like the very strong smell but it did fade with washing.

I'll buy it, as I do with any product of this type, when it's on offer.
I only ever buy comfort pure as we have skin issues in our household, but I always wait for offers and stock up then.
Thanks for giving us the bottle to try.

Dogolphin · 05/05/2016 10:54

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I like the bottle, its clean and small so it doesn't take up too much room in the cupboard. I used a little more than recommended. I think it needed it to get the clothes to smell nice. Overall I liked it and am happily using it. The smell is pleasant but not amazing. Overall I liked it and was pleased with it but not super excited.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why? I like the size of the bottle for storage, the design and pictures because it looks fresh and clean. I liked the smell but it was an 7 or 8 out of ten rather than a ten for smell. I liked the condition of the clothes as well, they were the softness I expect when using any conditioner.

Moogdroog · 05/05/2016 11:06

I really liked the smaller bottle - easier to store, hold and pour, and good environmentally too. The cap worked well too with no drips.
Fragrance was nice, though Comfort isn't my favourite fabric softener (prefer them a bit more smelly) and clothes felt good afterwards.
If the price was right I'd certainly buy it again.
Thanks for letting me try it.

FilthyPout · 05/05/2016 11:07

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
Overall I think this is a good product but I won't be buying this specifically instead of my regular fabric softener. I would however take advantage if I saw the product on offer.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I like the spout and and lid on the bottle. It's making pouring the softener much easier and less messy than a bottle without the spout.
I liked he compact design, it makes storage easy. Due to the compact size I would be more likely to buy multiple bottles if they were on offer as storing them wouldn't be an issue.

The smell wasn't as strong as i would have liked it to be. Although it smells fab In the bottle once clothes were washed and dried I could barely smell it but as I used the product for baby's washing this wasn't an issue. If was using it on my own clothes I'd definitely want a stronger smell.
Clothes did feel soft but I didn't think they were any softer than after using my regular fabric softener.

P1nkP0ppy · 05/05/2016 11:12

I usually use Comfort Pure and I like the smaller bottle, it's easier to handle and store.
I like the subtle fragrance and will definitely be buying more. Personally I don't like stronger smelling fabric conditioner so this is definitely for me!
Thanks MN! Smile

Mrshairyhead · 05/05/2016 11:13

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I liked the compact size and the fact it would be light to carry home from the shops. Visually it looks the same as the larger size bottles so if you already use the less concentrated bottles you would probably trust that this product is very similar.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I like the scent of the fabric conditioner and I found it softened my washing as much as my normal conditioner. I have used Comfort pure in the past and found this was just as good as the big bottles. I like how thin the liquid is,as it would be less likely to clog the fabric conditioner compartment.

I didn't particularly dislike anything about the product. Initially I found it annoying that when I took the lid off, the pouring spout would always be facing around the wrong way so I would have to turn the bottle around. I have now used the product for 6 washes and that is no longer annoying me so I must have got used to it.

paddlenorapaddle · 05/05/2016 11:18

Safe for children n those with sensitive skins

Liked the shape and size of the bottle smell was a lovely and it held the smell through the wash

Clothes were soft without a doubt wether line dried or tumbled.

It really made a difference to the bale and bed linen load will be using again

WeeMadArthur · 05/05/2016 11:20

I liked the packaging, and the compact size as I don't have much storage room.

I thought the smell was ok, not over powering, clothes weren't noticeably softer though

plasticboxesrock · 05/05/2016 11:26

It didn't seem much different to the Comfort Pure I normally use.
I liked the smell and my clothes were soft.
Overall impression was that it was the same thing in a smaller bottle.

GardenWorm · 05/05/2016 11:29

What was your overall impression of the product?
I'm impressed with the reduced packaging, much more environmentally friendly and it takes up less cupboard space which is important in a small house. The smell is nice and the clothes were soft.

What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I wouldn't pay the full price for it. Would buy it if it was on offer.

VilootShesCute · 05/05/2016 11:44

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I don't use scented fabric conditioners but liked this one for my husbands clothes.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

Like the bottle. Like the scent on dh's clothes.

chibsortig · 05/05/2016 12:08

Q1. I like the shape of the bottle the spout makes pouring easier.
Smell in the bottle was strong which wasnt what i expected for babies washing. However it was much nicer when used the washing smelt fab when wet from the machine and after line drying and i can smell it whilst wearing the clothes.
Its expensive compared to other brands but i would definitely buy it when on offer.
Q2. The bottle isnt big enough i will have a sad face when it runs out. Grin

ThePortlyPinUp · 05/05/2016 12:13

I really like the bottle design, there weren't any drips after use which is better than my usual brand.

Clothes felt soft but would probably have to use a larger dose on a towel wash as they still felt crunchy after line drying.

Fragrance is nice, not too overpowering but strong enough to be smelt when thr load is dry.
It hasbt caused any allergic reactions or eczema flare ups (I've done several washes now) which is very important.
If the price is comparable to other brands I would definitely buy again.

asuwere · 05/05/2016 12:31

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
I really liked it, nice size bottle, nice simple design and smells good.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
It smells very fresh and not synthetic. I generally don't use softener as I don't like the residue feel they sometimes leave on clothes (obv not because I can't be bothered separating out towels/cloths from general washes!) this didn't leave any residue though but clothes all felt soft. Also seems they need less ironing.

I was impressed but it is quite expensive so not sure I'll be buying it again unless on offer.
Thanks for letting me try it Smile

DivaDroid · 05/05/2016 12:31

Thanks for letting me try this out.

Q1. My first impression was good - I liked the smaller bottle & pouring spout. It smells the same as regular Comfort Pure & seems to work just the same. I live in a very soft water area & noticed very little difference between this one & the normal Comfort Pure - wonder if it would be different in a harder water are?

Q2. I loved the smaller bottle & pouring spout. We are currently teaching 8yr old DS how to use the washing machine, so these were a good bonus.
I was Shock at the price - it seems very expensive, but we bulk buy fab con at Costco, so I'm not sure of the usual retail price. That said, if I felt the price was good, I probably would buy it as it is a bit easier to use.

Elliecherry · 05/05/2016 12:32

Overall I really liked it. It feels just like the other larger comfort conditioner, just a more compact version. I trust the brand on mine and my children's sensitive skin, and this was once again kind on our skin.
I liked the spout to pour it, the fragrance and the softness.
Thanks for choosing us!
