This is the feedback thread for the 500 Mumsnetters who tested Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate.

Here’s what Comfort has to say: “We are pleased to launch the NEW Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate. Following our fantastic launch of Comfort Intense last year, we were keen to offer an extension of this format suitable for sensitive skin. Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate offers the same loved fragrance, amazing softness and performance as Comfort Pure, number 1 laundry brand for sensitive skin*, but from just a tiny dose! Just one cap (15ml) is needed in your washing load and comes in a convenient small pack, either 38 washes or 64 washes from most major retailers. Incredible softness, from just a tiny dose!”

*Based on AC Nielsen, MAT value sales, 19/03/16.

love the product! smells amazing even when clothes are in the wardrobe, bargain at just under 10p per wash, lovely attractive packaging and easy to use! I'll definitely be buying more Smile

Mypoorhat · 06/05/2016 08:30

Overall impression :
Nice smell, not too overpowering, a little bit goes a long way, and clothes soft after use.

Likes/dislikes:
I like the fact it's more concentrated, so you don't need to use very much- and that this means a smaller bottle.
A bit expensive - I'll still shop around but would like to use it again.

Emrob86 · 06/05/2016 09:02

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I love the small bottle as it fits in my cupboard much better than a big one! Love the softness of our clothes after use too.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I love the compactness, the mild scent and the softness it gives to our washing.

Cassid2088 · 06/05/2016 09:04

I really liked this product, compact bottle size (great for limited cupboard space), really fresh smell not at all chemically or over powerful. The softener left my clothes really soft, not sure it would last my house for the full 36 washes (assuming that is based on the lower dose, and as my machine is always maxed very unlikely). However I would definitely buy this off my own back it is a great product. Smile

Buzzardbird · 06/05/2016 09:14

What was your overall impression of the product?

I liked the smaller bottle, I am a big fan of reducing packaging and it also takes up a lot less space in the clutter cupboard. The smell is lovely. I'm not a huge fan of the pouring dispenser as I couldn't see the measurement markings very clearly so used too much.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I liked the reduced packaging, for environmental and storage reasons.

I love the fragrance that was still there after putting the sheets out on a really blowy washing line. It smells lovely rubbed on your radiators to disperse fragrance around your house when the heating goes on.
.
I liked that the sheets were still soft even though the sun had baked them dry.

I like the fact that although this product smells great, it is still gentle on my family's skin.

I like that the smaller bottle makes it easier to handle than a larger, heavier bottle.

My only dislike was that I couldn't see the markings on the dispenser clearly so used too much product in each wash. The bottle isn't going to last as long as I thought.

Theimpossiblegirl · 06/05/2016 09:23

I just wanted to add that when I went into DD's room late last night to check on her, her room smelled lovely.

Today I am washing the other DD's bedding. She is sporty and her room doesn't always smell lovely, so this will be a good test.

MackerelOfFact · 06/05/2016 10:20

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
I have recently been using the Tesco own brand 'pure' softener which I like - I don't usually use Comfort because I've found in the past that it's too thick for my machine to take properly and I end up with a solid lump of product in the conditioner drawer. With this being extra concentrated, I was worried that this would suffer the same/worse problem, but it didn't. I like the 'pure' scent because it just makes clothes smell soapy clean rather than heavily fragranced.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
Like: The compact nature and matte texture of the bottle, the smell, the nozzle dispenser, softness and fragrance of clothes after use.
Dislike: Sceptical that it will do 38 washes - the bottle is miniscule next to my Aerial 40 wash bottle! I suspect there will be occasions where I forget that it's the concentrated version and get a bit heavy-handed with it. It's also hard to see the markings on the dispenser, and it's a bit of a faff measuring it out - most brands you just use a whole capful, which is easier.

Overall, I would probably use this over my existing brand as it's pretty economical and works well.

red333 · 06/05/2016 10:51

My overall impression of this was it was a nice compact size.

I wasn't overly keen on the smell I like my clothes and bedding etc to smell of flowers and whatnot. It wasn't unpleasant just a bit bland. I liked only having to use a small amount, I usually use loads.

GiraffeAHolic · 06/05/2016 11:48

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I liked the small bottle, easier to store. Smell was pleasant.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I liked the smell of my laundry after using but it didn't last very long. My towels were softer than usual. I like the idea of it being concentrated but there's a temptation to chuck more in.

onemouseplace · 06/05/2016 12:00
  1. Overall impression - doesn't seem that different from the usual Comfort which I use - I used the recommended dosage, which is about what I would use with the normal strength product, and noticed no difference.
  1. I like the compact size of the bottle, but I dislike the shape. For some reason I found it really hard to hold and pour out of, not helped by the spout facing an odd way meaning I had to change hand grip a couple of times to pour out. The lid was a bit hard to get off as well.
AnnieBetts1 · 06/05/2016 12:06

I have never ever used this type of product before!
I loved the smell and enjoy the fact that it has made my house smell gorgeous too. I'm afraid that it doesn't make my wash any softer with the recommended dose though.
I wouldn't consider buying it, but to be fair, I haven't ever seen the need for fabric softeners before anyway.

Quills · 06/05/2016 12:11

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I liked the smaller size bottle, but I didn't like the shape of the dispensing nozzle. Appearance of the bottle was good though.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

The fragrance was far too subtle after the wash cycle. Although the clothes came out soft, I couldn't smell the conditioner on the clothes at all (washed at 30, 40 and 60 if relevant).

I don't think I would buy this. It isn't particularly great value for money at this pack size, I didn't like the nozzle and the fragrance was too weak.

oldmum1 · 06/05/2016 12:23

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
Nice size bottle , makes it easier to store . Easy to pour correct doseage out , and didn't spill or drip . Smelt really nice , but wasn't too overpowering .

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I liked the bottle design and the pouring spout , also like that it is suitable for my daughter who has sensitive skin .

I would buy this again , but would probably depend on price / offers

Nobrain · 06/05/2016 12:42

Marking for later ...

cather · 06/05/2016 12:52

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I like the smaller bottle, it is much easier to store and I found that the spout helps it pour much better.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

The bottle is great - a vast improvement on the bigger bottles. It has a gentle fragrance and leaves my clothes lovely and soft. My son has eczema and it is suitable for him which is great.

allthingsred · 06/05/2016 12:56

I really liked the size & shape of the bottle. It's so compact, would be brilliant to pop in a suitcase when going on holiday.
Our clothes definitely felt softer on using this product. The smell wasn't paticularly strong but was nice & fresh perfect for baby clothes

milliemoon · 06/05/2016 13:08

I was impressed, the clothes did feel soft and I liked the scent
I didn't dislike anything about the product

Kbear · 06/05/2016 13:19

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I like the smaller bottle. I expected the liquid to be thicker so you have to careful pouring into that little cap (bull in china shop)....

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

Didn't dislike anything - have to be honest and say I didn't notice any difference in my towels (which is all I have washed so far) - fragrance not much different to my ASDA pure that I usually use.

TheReverendBlueJeans · 06/05/2016 13:48

My overall impression was that it was a handy sized bottle and I really liked the scent.

I liked the scent and it stayed on the clothes for a decent length of time. I don't think it made the clothes any softer than my usual fabric conditioner though.

amarante · 06/05/2016 13:52

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
Great size as takes up less room in the cupboard. and the smell is great.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why? Liked the size mostly and the smell.

Mandatorymongoose · 06/05/2016 13:53

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I liked it. It did a great job of making my clothes soft and it smelled lovely.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I loved the smell, it's the smell I really associate with clean washing and I could smell it all through the house. I could have just stood and sniffed the bottle for a while when I first opened it like some sort of weird fabric softener addict.

Also really appreciated the small size, taking up less storage space and the ease of use. it was easy to pour and the dose was easy to measure.

roundandroundthehouses · 06/05/2016 14:07

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

Very positive: I'd definitely buy it again. Softens well, pleasantly scented, attractively and conveniently packaged, safe for sensitive skin.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

Liked: Bottle size: Less packaging, less bulk to carry and put away. I liked the fact that the scent afterwards was subtle and comforting, as I dislike strong scents (I know other testers have found it not strong enough, so it's a personal thing!). Soft and safe for dd2's extremely sensitive skin - she loves softened clothes, but gets a skin reaction with most other products.
Disliked: Not much, but I did find it 'lingered' in the conditioner drawer. But I don't normally use conditioner so maybe they all do that.

JoolsSchmools · 06/05/2016 14:20

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
Lovely smell. I did notice it when I was hanging clothes on the line. I can't say I noticed much difference in softness compared to others.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I like the size and shape of the bottle. The scent isn't too overpowering and smells lovely.
Nothing to dislike

ephillips340 · 06/05/2016 14:47

I loved mine size off bottle is great is so compact will definitely use again.

TennesseeDays · 06/05/2016 14:49

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
My overall impression was positive. I already know the brand.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I love the small size of the bottle, it is so much more convenient. I don't have much space in the kitchen cupboard for big bottles, so this is ideal, and I usually walk to the shops so it's useful to be able to carry a small bottle back, as then I have more room for other shopping, and it saves my back. The fragrance was OK, quite subtle, I would prefer a slightly stronger scent, but that's just me.
