This is the feedback thread for the 500 Mumsnetters who tested Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate.

Here’s what Comfort has to say: “We are pleased to launch the NEW Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate. Following our fantastic launch of Comfort Intense last year, we were keen to offer an extension of this format suitable for sensitive skin. Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate offers the same loved fragrance, amazing softness and performance as Comfort Pure, number 1 laundry brand for sensitive skin*, but from just a tiny dose! Just one cap (15ml) is needed in your washing load and comes in a convenient small pack, either 38 washes or 64 washes from most major retailers. Incredible softness, from just a tiny dose!”

*Based on AC Nielsen, MAT value sales, 19/03/16.

I was really impressed with this conditioner.
It's small bottle was easy to use and I loved the spout which made pouring easier.

It made our clothes noticeably softer which was brilliant!

But my favourite thing has to be the fragrance! It was quite gentle but a lovely, fresh, comforting scent. Unlike my usual brand it had great staying power and even after tumble drying the scent lingered. I was sat by the dryer sniffing the clothes!

When I get clothes from my children's wardrobes I can instantly tell if they've been washed with the comfort.

It's a big thumbs up from me and I will definitely be buying comfort concentrated again!

MummyMonkeySnot · 15/05/2016 10:51

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
I enjoyed using it. I liked the easy to pour spout as it meant I didn't get drips on my kitchen floor like I do when using the usual one. I use Comfort Pure anyway so was no different than what I usually use except the smaller bottle.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I like the simple design as it makes it less appealing for DS to grab it when the cupboard door is open. I also liked the easy pour spout as it is easy to just pour out. I like the smell as it makes my washing smell fresh and clean.

Lent1l · 15/05/2016 14:15

If I'm perfectly honest I don't really see much difference between this and the comfort concentrate except bottle is a little smaller. The actual results are the same.

The fragrance doesn't seem to last very long on the clothes. Hasn't irritated my children's skin which some can.

Not sure if I'll switch. Possibly if it's on offer.

TheFlyingFauxPas · 15/05/2016 17:06

Ditto many above posters. Beautiful smell but clothes didn't feel any softer than regular softeners. RRP of £3 something is pretty steep. I used the double dose as my washing machine is 6kg load. The bottle is a lot lighter and I have only had about 7 washes :-( It does not seem value for money. If I used less than the double dose I don't think they'd feel softened to the required standard. (very fussy about feel of clothes DC and me)

TheFlyingFauxPas · 15/05/2016 17:07

Very easy pour spout.

leanneth · 15/05/2016 17:36

Overall impression: the softness wasn't of clothes wasn't any different to my usual fabric conditioner. The smell was nice in the bottle but on the clothes after they were washed it wasn't very strong at all. This may suit some people.

Liked: I really like the shape of the bottle and the size - good for storing! I also like that the instructions remind you to wash and dry your hands after use. I suffered with dry hands for a few years until I realised it was because of handling washing powder, fabric conditioner and even just washed clothes. I now have to wash and dry my hands anyway after even touching the wet clothes (but ok once clothes are dry!) so I was doing this before reading it on the bottle- but that may help other people!

Thanks for choosing me for testing!

saywat · 15/05/2016 18:53

I love Comfort, this one smells beautiful. I used recommended dosage but it wasn't enough for me. None of these concentrated products quite live up to the promise IMO. I always buy what's on offer so wouldn't go out my way to buy it but if it was on offer I would defo purchase xx

PoohBearsHole · 15/05/2016 21:08

scent was appealing vs sickly floral ones, good size for storage and also for not putting too much in! not a regular fabric conditioner user so noticed the scent lasted well and made the room/drawers/cupboard smell nice but not over powering.
softness on both air dried and tumbled items,
I don't know if I would buy regularly but would on special offer, mind you this is because I am lazy and dislike having to clean the drawer scum out 😃

Beccyboo3482 · 15/05/2016 22:55

Overall impression was pleased with product found bottle easy to store the smell was really pleasant and left clothes feeling soft. I would use product again especially if it is on offer. It is a bit more expensive than what i usually use but as they say you get what you pay for. So even though it is s bit pricey its worth it.

musicposy · 16/05/2016 01:16

Q1
I've used comfort pure lots in the past, as it's the only fabric conditioner that doesn't bring DD's skin up in a rash.
I liked the bottle - compact and easy to hold.
I really like the smell, much more so than most fabric conditioners.
Q2 there's nothing to dislike! Thank you for picking me!

Sairelou · 16/05/2016 09:21

I really liked the product. I usually use the regular Comfort Pure. I liked that is it lore compact and takes up less space under the sink. I liked the easy pour spout and that any residue left in the lid would filter back in to the bottle. It has a lovely fresh fragrance that I can smell on the clothes.

The only thing I didn't like was on the inside of the lid it only had a measurement guide for 25ml, when the suggested amount was 15ml!

Mrsmonkeymoo1 · 16/05/2016 11:27

1: What was your overall impression of the product?

Well I use Comfort as a rule anyway so know that Comfort is always high quality product. I have a husband with asthma and a son with excema so like nice gentle products, which I found this to be.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I liked the smell of the product, although it was a faint smell it was fresh and nice to use. I also liked the easy to use spout and found this to be useful. I didnt really dislike anything about the product although the smell could be a little stronger.

Toottoot22 · 16/05/2016 11:27

I've already posted my view but had something else to add. I had to spend 2.5 hours in the car with my eldest yesterday who was wearing something washed with this conditioner and I found the smell far too strong and synthetic.

ANewIdentitytoJazzItUpABit · 16/05/2016 16:56

The bottles compact dimensions are great because I live in a 'cosy' three bed terrace house with teeny kitchen having few cupboards and worktop space. This bottle slot in easily between my other essentials without the need to juggle items around for room beforehand.
Easy pouring spout - lovely. I constantly need to remove my washing machine tray to clean off the goo that accumulates around the fabric conditioner compartment as I have a knack in missing my target when setting up a load.
With regards to the smell - I may be in a minority here but I won't be using it past the initial test. I recently had a baby and whilst I was pregnant, I used a different leading brand of 'gentle/sensitive' fabric conditioner with a similar smell to Comfort Pure. Pregnancy sickness made for an intense aversion to the fragrance and I'm not proud to say the rest of the bottles contents were eventually dumped .
Now after having tested the Pure (my baby is two months old now so I thought the aforementioned problem relating to morning sickness wouldn't be an issue ) I found the fragrance stomach turning and headache inducing just because it is so very alike the other brands version of 'Pure' I used previously.
I'm not a perfumer by any means and I don't know the ins and outs in making a fragrance but when companys bring out their take on baby friendly conditioners, do neutral themed smells need to be so similar to the other? Can't there be a sensitive fabric conditioner which has a smell that is pleasent, gentle, unobtrusive etc but distinct from the others?
Anyhow, for the above reason I shall not use Pure in the future, even if heavily discounted. On that note I do think £3+ is rather steep for this product, especially when other top brands of conditioners are frequently on offer and therefore more economical per ml. I had used a slightly larger dose of liquid as my machine has a 9kg drum and just from that single dose, I saw a considerable drop to the level left in the bottle. With that in mind, I can't say I'd happily choose the Pure as it'd be a strain on my budget. Clothes felt as soft as they do usually, too.
Putting aside my slightly negative experience with the Comfort, I do appreciate having the chance to sample the product so thank you for choosing me in your product testing panel.

fleabagmonkey · 16/05/2016 17:16

Thank you for allowing me to test this. Overall My impression of the Comfort concentrate was very good, I was very pleased about the smaller size of the bottle as I like to have a number of different scents of fabric conditioner so I can swop and choose depending on my mood and storing them take up lots of space! The clothes came out smelling lovely and felling nice and soft.

whatdoIget · 16/05/2016 18:28

My overall impression was that this is a good product. I really like the smell of this and would buy it again if it didn't remind me of someone I don't like, who I've realised must use it 😬
The bottle is MUCH more compact than the one I usually use and very easy to store. I found it a bit difficult to pour it back into the bottle when I poured a bit too much though, because of the spout thing, which I didn't see the point of really.
Thanks for letting me test it though Smile

CommanderShepard · 16/05/2016 18:56

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
Small version of the normal Comfort Pure

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I like the small bottle as the spout doesn't spill all over the drawer like the bigger version's cap! That said I didn't feel like it left the clothes as soft, so I'm really quite skeptical that it is in fact ultra concentrated.

lucjam2105 · 16/05/2016 19:18

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product? I don't use fabric conditioner as a rule. I was generally happy with it, I liked the packaging. It really is super concentrated I felt that I needed to use a bit less than the recommended amount.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why? I liked the way that it made the clothes smell. However, I found that if you left the clothes in the machine too long then when you took them out they smelt a bit odd. Also I found that I had to be careful what I used it with, I couldn't use it with any of my running stuff it really made made it smell funny. I did like to use it with towels and bedding though.

cleowasmycat · 16/05/2016 19:43

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

Nice small bottle, easy to store

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
Lovely smell, could be stronger

Mummyoftwo91 · 16/05/2016 19:57

Not letting me open the survey!

What I liked about this product was the smell, was such a fresh and comforting smell and I loved the size of the bottle fit in my cubboard very easy!

There was nothing I didn't like about this product and I will be buying it again!

kaycm25 · 16/05/2016 20:52

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product? I liked it, the small bottle is easier for storage.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why? I like the smell although I thought the smell on the clothes could be stronger, I also thought that the clothes weren't quite as soft as they could have been.

Mama2bubs · 16/05/2016 23:35
  1. Nice compact bottle. The smell of the liquid in the bottle was lovely.
  1. I couldn't smell the product on my clothes so maybe the scent could be stronger. The clothes didn't feel any softer compared to the usual fabric conditioner I use. I kept spilling the product as I was holding the lid the wrong way round.
I liked that the product was suitable for sensitive skin as my son has eczema.
JackandDiane · 17/05/2016 06:55

Did the towels. Walked into the bathroom this morning and it smells lovely.

lyndseyh78 · 17/05/2016 14:14

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
I liked the packaging and the shape of the bottle, Also it had a lovely smell and my washing when dried had a lovely delicate scent.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
The smell mainly, but also the size of the bottle as it was small and compact

Leeloo2 · 17/05/2016 19:53

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I normally use comfort pure, so was familiar with the fragrance and I found the performance was exactly the same as the normal product.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I really liked the size, it fits very neatly in my cupboard. I would buy it in future as the only difference I could detect was the bottle size.
