This is the feedback thread for the 500 Mumsnetters who tested Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate.

Here’s what Comfort has to say: “We are pleased to launch the NEW Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate. Following our fantastic launch of Comfort Intense last year, we were keen to offer an extension of this format suitable for sensitive skin. Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate offers the same loved fragrance, amazing softness and performance as Comfort Pure, number 1 laundry brand for sensitive skin*, but from just a tiny dose! Just one cap (15ml) is needed in your washing load and comes in a convenient small pack, either 38 washes or 64 washes from most major retailers. Incredible softness, from just a tiny dose!”

*Based on AC Nielsen, MAT value sales, 19/03/16.

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I really like it. The clothes still smell fresh and strong even after a few days away in the draw. I prefer the lasting fragrance to other comfort varieties that I usually buy.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I liked the small bottle. I like the fragrance, I like that I'm using less yet my clothes are still fresh and soft. It's a good product!

I didn't particularly like the large slit where you pour, I over spilt some putting it in today. That's the only negative I've found.

RubyGoat · 12/05/2016 16:38

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
I like it. Somehow doubt it will do a full 38 loads as you'd need always to measure the 20ml out perfectly every time. Good size bottle, even for my child-sized hands.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
The 20ml dose needs to be a lot more clearly labelled, the mark on the lid is almost invisible in all but the perfect light. Also, I generally don't use scented fabric softeners, but this one was fairly mild (some can make my eyes water so this was a pleasant surprise).

Flapdoodles · 12/05/2016 17:03

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
I like it. I found measuring a bit fiddly with the smaller lid but I suppose that is just because I am used to the bigger bottles.
Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I like that the bottle is smaller, the clothes and towels were definitely softer and I could still smell fragrance on them after a couple of days. I dislike the price, I tend to buy what is on offer though so would buy this if the price was a bit more competitive.

vlcrhopkins · 12/05/2016 17:39

Update:
I have now used it on several washes.

  1. nice sized bottle, handy that it is concentrated makes the clothes soft and smelly (good way).

  2. I liked the smell, and the softness of the clothes, but had to use more to get the same effect as my previous conditioner.

I wouldn't buy again unless on offer (which I how I usually buy all my products 😁).

NerrSnerr · 12/05/2016 17:41

My overall impression is that it's great. I like the small bottle. It does make a difference to what my washing smells like.

I like the small bottle and the difference it makes to my washing. I don't like how squishy the bottle it, I have spelled it every time I use it!

Cocolepew · 12/05/2016 17:48

I like the compact size, I use this anyway and I liked that the quality was the same.

Clothes, were nice and soft and the smell is lovely, not too overpowering or artifical.

mrsronswanson · 12/05/2016 17:58
  1. Overall impression is favourable. I like the smell and the fact that the bottle is small enough to fit in our small cupboard.
  2. There was nothing I particularly disliked about the product. I would like to buy it again if the price was right. I normally chose whatever is on offer.
SingToMeInFrench · 12/05/2016 18:09
  1. Liked the compact bottle and I thought the smell was more intense. Lovely!
TheBabyFacedAssassin · 12/05/2016 18:10
  1. My overall impression was really good. I already use the regular comfort pure and trust comfort as a brand so had high expectations that were not disappointed.
  1. I really like this product. I love the size as it fits neatly under my sink. I love the spout as it pours without spilling. I love the fresh, clean fragrance too.

I actually think that using this would save me money as I tend to free pour the regular comfort into the drawer whereas with this product I use the cap to measure the correct amount every time. I will definitely be purchasing this.

Cassid2088 · 12/05/2016 18:13

I liked the smaller compact bottle, great for limited storage space, smells great without being to strong. Not sure it would do the whole 38 washes it claims but we shall see. Spout is handy once you've realised what way round you need it. I would buy this if it was a good price.
Overall good product.

Miaow1234 · 12/05/2016 18:23

I didnt notice anything different about the product I used a little less than normal but felt the amount recommended wasn't enough.

smells lovely and fresh and great having a compact bottle.

MildlyMiserable · 12/05/2016 18:42
  1. I like the style of the bottle and the no. of washes
  2. I'm afraid I've been using on towels and bedding as the aroma is not as overpowering as my usual brand and the towels are lovely and soft (don't want to waste on PE kits and uniform)
Tiredstressed · 12/05/2016 18:46

I really liked the smell of this - I usually use a more perfumed fabric conditioner but I was pleasantly surprised by the smell. My clothes felt soft after use.

I liked the bottle design - I often use other products in the range so it was not new to me. Using a small amount is good, although the temptation is to just slosh a load into the machine.

Overall, I would buy this, which surprised me because I thought the smell would be too subtle.

oneplusoneequalsfour · 12/05/2016 19:02

cQ1: What was your overall impression of the product? Good product which left clothes soft.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
Like - bottle size, easier to store in small cupboard. Thinner liquid, less likely to gunk up machine drawer
Dislike - price, it's expensive. Difficult to measure amount.

billybear · 12/05/2016 19:03

overall impression strong smell from bottle, but not that strong when washing is dry smelt nice as I removed wet washing from washer.i have a 9lb washing machine so have to use extra each wash, so works out quite expensive, would buy if on offer love comfort any way, love smaller bottle takes less room in cupboard,2. likes size of bottle.dislike price, don't think smell is that strong once washing is dry quite soft though.thank you for letting me try it. will carry on with my usual comfort unless this one is on offer

twattingtosser · 12/05/2016 19:12

Question 1
For something that is supposed to be kind/gentle it has a really strong smell. I would have expected a gentle fabric conditioner to have an almost neutral smell really.

Question 2.
The spout is useless on the bottle if you are left handed. Also, the cap of the bottle needs to be able to measure all you need in one go really, so unfortunately I wont be buying this again.

cgraves · 12/05/2016 19:14

I liked it very much as it since my first pregnancy my sense of smell is very sensitive and I can get get sick easily but not with this conditioner. Whoop whoop! I like the size very much as well as it is easy for storage :)

carz1985 · 12/05/2016 19:20

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
I liked the fact the bottle was very compact and the pouring cap was easy to use.i found it smelt nice but nothing special.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I found using the the smell was not as strong as I'd usually like. But it suited me for my baby clothes who am due in next few days.so just used it for babies clothes and different one for us.

awishes · 12/05/2016 19:20

Love the size
Love the dose measure in cps and found it easy to pour
Love Comfort Pure anyway!
Thanks for letting me try it ! I have already convinced my mum and sister to buy!

QuestionableMouse · 12/05/2016 19:29

Lovely product overall, smells nice without being overpowering. Thought the bottle was a nice size for easy storage.

Didn't like the shape of the lid. I found it a bit hard to open.

SavoyCabbage · 12/05/2016 19:29

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
Good. You can tell it's the Comfort brand straightaway. The instructions were easy to find and follow. The smell was what I expected and it wasn't too overpowering. I think buyers of this product don't want a strong smell.

Usually I wouldn't read the instructions but because it was so small I wanted to be sure I wasn't using too much. My worry would be I would just end up slugging it in and the bottle would be gone in no time.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?*

I liked the small bottle. I don't have much storage so this would attract me to buy it.
I liked the colour. I associate white fabric softener with clean washing and I wouldn't buy the coloured ones.

I didn't like the spout. I found I was always holding the bottle the wrong way around after unscrewing the lid and was almost pouring it from the wrong side before I noticed. I don't have time to pivot fabric conditioner bottles all day!Grin

elvislives2012 · 12/05/2016 19:32

I loved this. Like the little bottle and liked the smell.
Liked the easy pour spout

pud1 · 12/05/2016 19:59

Lovely smell that lasted on my bedding. Made them very soft

Mostly impressed with compact size. I loath massive bottles of conditioner.

mmmmmchocolate · 12/05/2016 20:10

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

Loved the smell, clothes felt very soft. My sheets still smell fresh days later.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I liked the idea of it being condensed, however, I tend to use the same amount as normal out of habit so it would end up quite expensive for me.

I don't usually use fabric softener as its something I can't justify the expense on but I might just save it for sheets :)

pigsinmud · 12/05/2016 20:12

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I liked the bottle size. I found it hard to see the measuring line on the cap. I liked the spouty bit.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I liked the subtle smell - not overpowering as some conditioners can be. I can't imagine it will last 38 washes though. Clothes felt as soft as they do with my usual conditioner.
