This is the feedback thread for the 500 Mumsnetters who tested Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate.

Here’s what Comfort has to say: “We are pleased to launch the NEW Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate. Following our fantastic launch of Comfort Intense last year, we were keen to offer an extension of this format suitable for sensitive skin. Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate offers the same loved fragrance, amazing softness and performance as Comfort Pure, number 1 laundry brand for sensitive skin*, but from just a tiny dose! Just one cap (15ml) is needed in your washing load and comes in a convenient small pack, either 38 washes or 64 washes from most major retailers. Incredible softness, from just a tiny dose!”

*Based on AC Nielsen, MAT value sales, 19/03/16.

I am already a Comfort Pure user and I am fan of smaller bottles more concentrated products. The smell is the same pleasant smell which I like, same softness on clothes. I don't use fabric conditioner on towels.

honeysucklejasmine · 13/05/2016 17:10

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I like the small bottle and the spout. Very easy to use when my arthritis flares up in my hands.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I liked the idea of the spout but it was a bit annoying having to hold the bottle in the right orientation. The scent was lovely and the clothes came out lovely and soft. I am quite looking forward to using it on my towel wash at the weekend!

ShoeJunkie · 13/05/2016 17:32

I liked the smell and the scent seemed to last.
The spout on the bottle made it easy to pour.
The compact size made it easy to store in my overflowing utility room cupboard!

Nothing I disliked about it.

Jodiekins22 · 13/05/2016 18:44

Question 1 Overall impression was good. I liked the size of the bottle, I can't drive and often pick up shopping when I'm out and about and the bottle is easy to carry round. It also fit in my cupboards. Hurrah!

Question 2.I liked the smell of the softener though it could have been stronger and it left our towels incredibly soft but that may be because I sloshed quite a bit in forgetting it was concentrated. I didn't particularly find anything to dislike about the product though I wasn't overly keen on the pouring nozzle. If you're in a hurry, it's easy to get it the wrong way round and Comfort all over the floor :/

foxybingodotcom · 13/05/2016 19:22

Q1 - I liked the size of the bottle - light to carry in my shopping, same look as normal comfort pure so easy to recognise / pick up.

Q2 - NO real dislikes - thought it was every bit as good as the normal one - that said I did use a wee bit more than was recommended.

Climbontoyourseahorse · 13/05/2016 20:01

Q1: Nice small bottle, easy to carry home from the shop and to store in cupboard. It was pretty much the same as the regular comfort pure other than the size of the bottle.
Q2: I liked the smell and it left my clothes soft.

idleweiss · 13/05/2016 20:26

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
I thought it was very appealing, I liked the cute, streamlined packaging that was easy to use/pour (no spillage, like I sometimes get with my giant family sized bottle!) and the fact it was concentrated (I sometimes get carried away with the non concentrated version but found the small amount needed was plenty!).

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I liked that it was more compact using less packaging and perfect for storing in my small overcrowded kitchen cupboards!
I liked the fragrance and the smaller dosage, and that it was still as gentle on my little ones sensitive skin as original comfort pure, and kept clothes soft.
i would definitely buy this product again.

Moodykat · 13/05/2016 20:32

I thought the fabric conditioner smelt lovely when just washed. I had to use a lot to make the smell last at all though. It does make the clothes really lovely and soft though... can imagine using it on vests for babies!! Again, had to use a lot to get that though!

The small bottle was cute. The spout is a good idea but I didn't actually find it massively useful. A nice feature but not a selling point IYSWIM?!

Thanks for choosing us.

tinker78 · 13/05/2016 20:33

The shape and size of the bottle is attractive - like a droplet. I did like the scent and when the washing was drying on the line, and also felt it lasted. I did feel that it made my washing softer. I was very pleased with it, but would probably only buy it when it's on offer

Uneasypeasy · 13/05/2016 20:41

Thanks for the test product! The bottle is a good design, pours easily and the measuring cap works well. After the wash, my clothes felt slightly softer, but wouldn't say it was very noticeable - also couldn't smell it at all. The second wash I put more in (defeats the object of concentrated a bit!) and it did feel much softer, the smell still wasn't very strong (but that's ok with me). My skin gets allergic reactions towards some fabric conditioners and washing powder but this didn't make my skin sensitive at all, which was a plus.

northdownmummy · 13/05/2016 22:22

Really love the new packaging, I like to think that by reducing packaging and related transportation impacts comfort are looking after the environment as well as my families skin.

Same softness as original and it pours easily. I especially like the markings on the side of the bottle to see at a glance how many washes are left.

stodge74 · 13/05/2016 22:56

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
It smelt lovely in the bottle but could not smell on the items that had been washed, also did not feel as soft as my usual fabric conditioner.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I liked the smell but I ended up using the same amount as my usual..I did not like that it left no fragrance to items when washed.

Raffles123 · 13/05/2016 23:32

Handy compact bottle , takes up less space and will lead to less back ache whilst shopping.

Clothes felt a lot softer though the fragrance was not the strong - which I prefer.

I tipped it the wrong way a couple of times so spilt it where the pourer faced the wrong way.

Pretty bottle design though if aiming at use with children bathing it would benefit from looking more natural or pure in image.

Price seems steep, particularly as I do larger washes so it would be unlikely to last 38 washes.

Did a grand job, would use agsin.

DartmoorDoughnut · 14/05/2016 07:16
  1. I liked the design of the bottle, instructions were clear and the spout made pouring very easy. Small bottle size made storage easy.

  2. I liked the smell from the bottle but I use comfort pure normall, it doesn't seem to have made the washing smell lovely though?! Think I'll stick to my original tbh

Paulat2112 · 14/05/2016 08:09

I really liked the shape of the bottle, thought it was different. It was also easy to pour, although the spout inside was a weird shape.

I thought it smelled nice inside the bottle, but once on my clothes I couldn't smell it at all which was disappointing. I don't think it made my clothes any softer than my other brand.

I wouldn't buy this again

JackandDiane · 14/05/2016 08:11

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

Liked the smallness and scent

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
Nothing

I never measure tbh - i just shove it in

TeaBelle · 14/05/2016 09:28

I liked the fact that you can use a small amount and the bottle fits in my cupboards, as they usually don't. The smell is fresh and long lasting without being over powering. It also survived line drying which can sometimes neutralise the smell.
My only reservation to buying would be to consider the price per wash

Firewall · 14/05/2016 09:49
  1. I really liked the compact size of the bottle, nice and space saving!

  2. product was really nice, I used a very small amount and it left a lovely subtle smell (just how I like it as I don't like over powering detergent smell on my clothes) i found it smells a lot better when using percil with it as oppose to other brands where it didn't smell so good. It was gentle enough for baby clothes and did leave a nice softness to the clothes and sheets I washed.

Breeding4years · 14/05/2016 09:57

What was your overall impression of the product?
I liked the compact bottle, loved the smell and made clothes feel lovely and soft

What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I liked the fragrance - smells fresh but not overpowering, I like the small bottle - easy to store in the utility room -fitted in snugly in my junk that I store in thereSmile

TrixieBernadette · 14/05/2016 09:59

Done my third wash with it, and I will admit to noticing the difference this morning unloading the machine - there's no difference in smell, but the clothes feel softer.

roundandroundthehouses · 14/05/2016 12:13

Continuing to use and really like the product. But I'd like to add one further comment:

I really don't like the 'developed together with mums' statement on the back. I know that's factually true - hence this product test - but I find it old-fashioned and rather sexist to associate babies and washing with mums alone. I'd be much happier if 'parents' was the word that was used. Also, the focus on babies is understandable, but I'm in fact using it because my teenager has very sensitive skin. A bit of the cuddly stuff is fair enough, since families with babies are probably the target market. But the mummy stuff added to that means I definitely wouldn't have bought the product if I'd only seen it on a shelf without having the chance to try it.

Starlingsintheslipstream · 14/05/2016 13:13

I'm liking it more as I go on. I'm only using half a capful but clothes seem softer. I've done some ironing as well now and the clothes felt much nicer. Will definitely pick some up I think, and I'm not a regular fabric conditioner user.

AdamantEve · 14/05/2016 19:10

Overall impression:
I've used this before, when my children were newborns but I remember it having a different scent? I can't say I'm keen on the scent, I find it quite sickly. But it wasn't too overpowering once the clothes had dried so was bearable. I thought the clothes came out pretty soft so it worked just as well as my current fabric conditioner.

Likes and dislikes:
I love that it is suitable for sensitive skin, my son has mild eczema so I am conscious of harsh products.
As mentioned before though, I just didn't like the fragrance. I also only buy fabric conditioner when it is on offer, I am completely not brand loyal with things like this, so would only buy it if it was selling for around the £2 mark.

Q1 The bottle looks sleek and easily stored. Product smells nice and clothes soft

Q2. The scent was mild which is exactly what I would be looking for when I buy this product. Plenty of other strong smelling products available but prefer this one
