Oops...50l ones tried.

TooAswellAlso · 20/03/2016 12:39

Q1. What were your overall impressions of Visqueen Ultimate bin liners?
Strong, thick, white!
Q2. Are you generally satisfied or frustrated with typical bin liners that you use? How do Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compare to them?
If I get extra strong large refuse sacks I'm happy. But if I pick up the wrong ones accidentally I curse. So many are awful. These visqueen ones seem strong and well designed.
Q3. In terms of strength, how would you rate Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compared to other bin liners you have tried in the past?
Definitely one of the best
Q4. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Visqueen Ultimate bin liners if you were in need of bin bags?
Probably unlikely in this size - they are ace, but don't fit my bin, they are too narrow! And I don't like the white, I would want black instead.
Q5. If you are willing to purchase Visqueen Ultimate bin liners, how likely are you to consider purchasing them online (e.g. on Amazon)?
Maybe
Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Visqueen Ultimate bin liners to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?
For big jobs definitely. For smaller households yes. But the ones I tried (50l swing top) are just too small for my bin.

TooAswellAlso · 20/03/2016 12:40

Just to add, our recycling liners are clear/white, hence the dislike of these being white - we are meant to use Black Sacks for household waste, which means a waste of double bagging on bin day (though a way of using the awful thin cheap ones up) These being white just doesn't work for me.

They are amazingly strong though - which is especially good for cat litter!!

Stej7 · 20/03/2016 14:12

I tested the 30l bags.
Q1. What were your overall impressions of Visqueen Ultimate bin liners?
good product. Strong, durable and easy to use. Much better than bin liners we usually use (supermarket own brands generally!).

Q2. Are you generally satisfied or frustrated with typical bin liners that you use? How do Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compare to them?
We have a brabantia 30l bin. They fit perfectly in there. Unlike other bin liners they did not tear when we filled the bag and then removed it after sealing the top. We've had so many bin liners that just tear and are useless. It's frustrating.

Q3. In terms of strength, how would you rate Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compared to other bin liners you have tried in the past?
Much stronger, especially versus supermarket own brand products often which can tear even when ripping them off the roll.

Q4. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Visqueen Ultimate bin liners if you were in need of bin bags?
Yes I would do if the price were right! Probably slightly too expensive but if they were on offer then definately. Like the box they come in as makes storage easy.

Q5. If you are willing to purchase Visqueen Ultimate bin liners, how likely are you to consider purchasing them online (e.g. on Amazon)?
I would buy them after researching prices. If internet is cheaper I would buy from there.

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Visqueen Ultimate bin liners to friends/family? Yes, definitely.

Ntinyn · 20/03/2016 15:36

Q1. What were your overall impressions of Visqueen Ultimate bin liners?
I was impressed they came in a box, v easy to stack and keep tidy in cupboard. They seemed quite strong too and was surprised they were white. I've only ever used / seen black ones! My only problem is that I found it really hard to squeeze them over my bin properly. I would probably buy the next size up.

Q2. Are you generally satisfied or frustrated with typical bin liners that you use? How do Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compare to them?
I'm really happy with my current ones from sainsburys that are extra strong, I've had bad experiences with cheap thin ones and refuse to buy them anymore,

Q3. In terms of strength, how would you rate Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compared to other bin liners you have tried in the past?
They are really strong! Can withstand the weight of an entire Sangenic nappy bin plus household landfill waste no problem.

Q4. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Visqueen Ultimate bin liners if you were in need of bin bags?
Depends where they are sold. I normally buy mine online with my groceries.

Q5. If you are willing to purchase Visqueen Ultimate bin liners, how likely are you to consider purchasing them online (e.g. on Amazon)?
Yes I would buy from Amazon on their subscribe and save scheme.

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Visqueen Ultimate bin liners to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Not sure bin liners have ever come up in conversations I've had but yes I guess I would!

Thanks for letting me test them.

WhosFred · 20/03/2016 15:58

50litre bag

  1. Good first impression, surprised to see something different than the normal black bag
  1. Usually fine with whichever get bought although can be frustrating if stuck trying to use up cheap thin ones if I've decided to risk buying some cheapies.
These are so much better than what I've been buying of late!!
  1. These are much stronger than most we've used in the past, and good to have drawstring so it can be tied tight even when really full.
  1. Quite likely, unless they were considerably more expensive than similar strong bags
  1. Would certainly buy online if I saw them at the right price although more likely to purchase somewhere like the supermarket.
  1. Would recommend as good strong bag.
Linds03 · 20/03/2016 16:04
  1. First impressions were really good. Liked that they came in a box. They separated easily from other bags and felt strong. Also liked the drawstring handles.
  2. Usual bin liners rip easily so generally frustrated with them.
  3. These bags are very strong - they didn't rip at all.
  4. I would definitely purchase these bags again if they were the right price.
  5. I'd probably only buy these bags if sold in the supermarkets as tend to pick up bin bags when doing my weekly shopping.
  6. I'd definitely recommend Visqueen ultimate bin liners to others as they are great - really strong and easy to store and tie - best bin liners I've used.
Ntinyn · 20/03/2016 17:01

Sorry forgot to say, I tested the 30l ones

Flapdoodles · 20/03/2016 18:09

I was invited to test the 30L liners.

Q1. What were your overall impressions of Visqueen Ultimate bin liners?
I was really impressed. I like that they came on a roll, were easy to separate, I like that you can tie the top easily (drawstring) and there have been no rips, spills etc.

Q2. Are you generally satisfied or frustrated with typical bin liners that you use? How do Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compare to them?

These are better than the ones I use usually. I tend to be the cheapest because I have tried more expensive bags and find that the quality is as poor as the cheapest. The Visqueen bin liners are far superior to the ones I use usually.

Q3. In terms of strength, how would you rate Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compared to other bin liners you have tried in the past?
100% better than any I have ever used before. I have thrown everything in as usual and there have been no splits, tears, leaks.

Q4. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Visqueen Ultimate bin liners if you were in need of bin bags?
If the price is right I intend the purchase these in future. They are definitely worth paying more than the usual bin bags I use.

Q5. If you are willing to purchase Visqueen Ultimate bin liners, how likely are you to consider purchasing them online (e.g. on Amazon)?
I tend to buy bin liners when I run out but because of the quality and how much longer they last than my usual liners, I would consider ordering them online.

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Visqueen Ultimate bin liners to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would definitely recommend these. There is nothing to dislike - they are strong, easy to store, no rips, no leaks.

Thank you for letting me test these.

Tonkatol · 20/03/2016 19:09

Q1. Visqueen Ultimate bin liners were very generous in size and very strong - didn’t rip at all.

Q2. I am forever changing bin liner brands as I get fed up with the bags ripping when I try to take them out of our kitchen bin. I found that the Visqueen Ultimate bin liners far stronger - I haven’t had a single one rip on me and find that, when I take the liner out of the bin, there is still room to put more rubbish in the bag before putting into the dustbin.

Q3. Definitely the strongest brand I have tried. Stronger than many black sacks I have used. I even emptied cat litter and some general household waste into one bag and the bag didn’t seem to stretch or weaken at all - I wasn’t concerned it was going to break.

Q4. I would definitely consider Visqueen Ultimate bin liners, depending on the price - I would pay more than I currently pay for bin liners but not sure how much I would be prepared to pay. These are definitely superior quality bags, both to the type of bin liners and black sacks I purchase, so there is a realisation that they would be more expensive. Also, it depends on the minimum quantity - 40 bags is great - any more and the roll would start getting to an inconvenient size.

Q5. I use Amazon for various purchases, so would be quite happy to add the purchase of Visqueen Ultimate bin liners online. I would probably only purchase them if they were either with a large supplier such as Amazon or if postage was free and no minimum order value required.

Q6. I would definitely recommend Visqueen Ultimate bin liners to friends/family because they are so strong and roomy. They would be great for multiple different purposes, in addition to the obvious use as a bin liner. As previously mentioned, although I trialled 50l bags, they seemed quite generous in size and so you could get more rubbish in these bin liners than my usual bin liners. The quality really gives me the confidence that they wouldn’t rip when being used.

Q1. What were your overall impressions of Visqueen Ultimate bin liners?
I was surprised by the design - would expect them to be black. The 50L ones were a bit small fitting on our bin and had to be stretched tightly to fit. They are really very strong.

Q2. Are you generally satisfied or frustrated with typical bin liners that you use? How do Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compare to them?
Cheap ones are always terrible quality and rip which is very frustrating. I always get the more expensive but still own-brand ones which are pretty strong though maybe not as strong as these.

Q3. In terms of strength, how would you rate Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compared to other bin liners you have tried in the past?
They are very strong - probably the strongest I've ever used tbh

Q4. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Visqueen Ultimate bin liners if you were in need of bin bags?
if they were a better fit I may buy them but they are more expensive than our usual ones so that would be an issue too. So on balance, probably not.

Q5. If you are willing to purchase Visqueen Ultimate bin liners, how likely are you to consider purchasing them online (e.g. on Amazon)?
If I was going to buy them then I would consider getting them online if delivery was free.

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Visqueen Ultimate bin liners to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would if someone was looking for a really strong bin liner and had a smaller bin than us!

Pickofthepops · 20/03/2016 19:53

Q1. What were your overall impressions of Visqueen Ultimate bin liners?

Really impressed - we tested the 30l bags - good packaging better than a branantia roll. And strong, no sense of them being able to tear from the perforation.

Q2. Are you generally satisfied or frustrated with typical bin liners that you use? How do Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compare to them?

We use a variety from brabantia own, to Waitrose, Aldi and pound land. Typically satisfied based on comparative price to quality.

These do seem stronger and we like the box.

Q3. In terms of strength, how would you rate Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compared to other bin liners you have tried in the past?

Much stronger, now we have used them, just a better quality plastic.

Q4. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Visqueen Ultimate bin liners if you were in need of bin bags?

Very

Q5. If you are willing to purchase Visqueen Ultimate bin liners, how likely are you to consider purchasing them online (e.g. on Amazon)?

Online only if postage free

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Visqueen Ultimate bin liners to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would recommend, already have.

Pickofthepops · 20/03/2016 19:53

Thanks for choosing us :-)

KimmySchmit · 20/03/2016 21:39

Hi, I tried the 30litre
Q1. What were your overall impressions of Visqueen Ultimate bin liners? They were thicker than anything is normally use & tore off easily without splitting
Q2. Are you generally satisfied or frustrated with typical bin liners that you use? How do Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compare to them? I normally use either poly bags or a roll of poly bags from the supermarket. They are thin & cheap so it's not always guaranteed they'll survive the trip to the wheelie bin
Q3. In terms of strength, how would you rate Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compared to other bin liners you have tried in the past? Much stronger
Q4. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Visqueen Ultimate bin liners if you were in need of bin bags? Likely if I saw them in the supermarket
Q5. If you are willing to purchase Visqueen Ultimate bin liners, how likely are you to consider purchasing them online (e.g. on Amazon)? Unlikely
Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Visqueen Ultimate bin liners to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, the tie top is handy & strong

Treadlightly · 20/03/2016 21:50

Thanks for choosing me to test these cool bags, They were great! I tried the 50l

Q1. What were your overall impressions of Visqueen Ultimate bin liners?

I wasn't sure about the box at first but I like it now. They take up more space in my cupboard but it's easier to grab a bag and pull it out of the box. The bags are really strong - it haven't had any tears & I always do usually! They're just the right size for my bin & they tie up neatly.

Q2. Are you generally satisfied or frustrated with typical bin liners that you use?

Im usually frustrated & disappointed in my usual bin bags. They're thin & tear very easily. I hate changing the bin because it's dirty & if the bag tears it leaks all over the floor.

How do Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compare to them?

The vidqueen bags are 100x better than my usual cheap thin bags! No rips or tears. They're thick & strong.

Q3. In terms of strength, how would you rate Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compared to other bin liners you have tried in the past?

They are much stronger than my usual bin bags.

Q4. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Visqueen Ultimate bin liners if you were in need of bin bags?

Yes, definitely.

Q5. If you are willing to purchase Visqueen Ultimate bin liners, how likely are you to consider purchasing them online (e.g. on Amazon)?

Yes, if they were Amazon prime

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Visqueen Ultimate bin liners to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, they were impressive!

DH: "Calm down Xylo they're only bin bags."
Everyone in our house hates emptying the bin, so we cram and squish more and more stuff in it until it's overflowing, to the point that someone (me) realises the moment has comes and tries to empty it. Cue ripping bag, crap all over the floor, much swearing, etc. Until now. These bin bags are life-changing. They actually work. They are brilliant. No rips, no tears, nothing.

Would I buy them again - maybe. It kind of pains me to spend 8 quid on rubbish bags. But having experienced the joy of Visqueen Ultimate, I'm not sure I can ever go back.

Questions:
I was trialling the 50L bags
Q1. Awesome and life changing (I don't get out much)
Q2. No, they are crap. These are 50 times better.
Q3. I haven't managed to put a hole in one yet, so let's say 100 fold.
Q4. hmmm, well I'd balk at the price a bit. But I guess I'm worth it.
Q5. I might do. But it's a bit of a hassle. Here's a genius idea - make the fourth bag from the end a different colour to remind me to order my next lot of bags.
Q6. I can't really see how it would come up in conversation, but let's just say it did, well then yes I would.

BeaArthursUnderpants · 21/03/2016 00:55

I tested the 50#.

Q1. Very strong and thick-- felt "expensive.". Somewhat less stretchy/pliable thank I'm used to, but that's boy necessarily a bad thing. Very different looking.

Q2. Sometimes satisfied and sometimes frustrated. I did like the Visqueen liners better overall and would buy them if they were around the same price or slightly more.

Q3. VERY strong. Didn't feel like they were likely to stretch or break, and in fact they didn't.

Q4. Pretty likely, unless they are wildly expensive.

Q5. Very likely, particularly on Amazon as I would not have to reenter my payment details and I know my information is protected.

Q6. Definitely! As long as they aren't crazy expensive.

fish88 · 21/03/2016 07:01

I tested the 50l bags.

Q1. What were your overall impressions of Visqueen Ultimate bin liners? Very impressed with the strength, fit nicely in the bin and also used them during spring cleaning and had no issues with bags tearing.

Q2. Are you generally satisfied or frustrated with typical bin liners that you use? How do Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compare to them? Generally happy with the heavy duty bags we buy, have had cheaper bags tear in the past.

Q3. In terms of strength, how would you rate Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compared to other bin liners you have tried in the past? Strongest bag I have tried.

Q4. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Visqueen Ultimate bin liners if you were in need of bin bags? Wouldn't buy at the price suggested in the survey but would pick them up if they were on offer.

Q5. If you are willing to purchase Visqueen Ultimate bin liners, how likely are you to consider purchasing them online (e.g. on Amazon)? I would not purchase bin liners online. I prefer to pick them up with my grocery shopping.

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Visqueen Ultimate bin liners to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not? I would recommend but only at a lower price.

Belo · 21/03/2016 08:30

Q1. What were your overall impressions of Visqueen Ultimate bin liners? They looked strong and they were in a handy storage box.

Q2. Are you generally satisfied or frustrated with typical bin liners that you use? When we buy the poundland ones we often have accidents (the handles snap when pulling them out) but when we spend a bit more and buy the brabantia ones we have no problems. How do Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compare to them? The visqueen bags were stronger than both.

Q3. In terms of strength, how would you rate Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compared to other bin liners you have tried in the past? Superstrong. We have been filling them to the max to really test them.

Q4. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Visqueen Ultimate bin liners if you were in need of bin bags? They are a lot more expensive than the Brabantia ones we buy (we buy them from ebay or amazon). If Visqueen was on special offer I would buy them, but not at the price given.

Q5. If you are willing to purchase Visqueen Ultimate bin liners, how likely are you to consider purchasing them online (e.g. on Amazon)? As above, it would depend on the cost

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Visqueen Ultimate bin liners to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not? I would say they were excellent, but a bit on the pricey side.

Carrotpuree · 21/03/2016 08:56

Q1. What were your overall impressions of Visqueen Ultimate bin liners? Very impressive, industrial strength looking. My drawers aren't big enough for the dispenser box so that feature unfort isn't of value to us

Q2. Are you generally satisfied or frustrated with typical bin liners that you use? How do Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compare to them? We are really frustrated with the typical bin liners we use, they rip at the ties or worse rip just under the tie so as you pull the bin sack up & out the sack is partly left behind.

Q3. In terms of strength, how would you rate Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compared to other bin liners you have tried in the past? Visqueen seem much stronger so far and in the interest of being a MN tester we have deliberately chucked all sorts in.

Q4. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Visqueen Ultimate bin liners if you were in need of bin bags? Yes we would consider buying them if at a reasonable price

Q5. If you are willing to purchase Visqueen Ultimate bin liners, how likely are you to consider purchasing them online (e.g. on Amazon)? We have Amazon prime so are comfortable with making the most of online only offer / discounts with the free shipping but they would have to be at a price that balanced requirement to order in advance rather than after I run out!

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Visqueen Ultimate bin liners to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes we would recommend them, the only reason I might not is the predicted cost. Most my friends are also mums on a tight budget - we only tend to recommend things that are great & a bargain.

Bluetwirl · 21/03/2016 10:00

I used the larger 50L bags. I was very impressed with them!

Q1. What were your overall impressions of Visqueen Ultimate bin liners?
These are great, really impressed with the quality and the packaging.

Q2. Are you generally satisfied or frustrated with typical bin liners that you use? How do Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compare to them?
Usually I am totally unimpressed, but that is my fault as I buy the cheap bags then complain when they rip apart! I hate spending so much on plastic that gets thrown away. I also usually buy the recycled versions - and I don't think the Visqueen ones are? Certainly didn't say they are on the packaging. That did put me off a bit... However, they are amazing!

Q3. In terms of strength, how would you rate Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compared to other bin liners you have tried in the past?
Really good - much thicker and stronger than other bin liners that I have used.

Q4. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Visqueen Ultimate bin liners if you were in need of bin bags?
I would buy these if they were not too expensive. I know you get the quality that you pay for, but when I am trying to cut back on costs for my weekly food shop, I usually buy cheaper versions of cleaning products and bin liners seem such an expensive waste of money!

Q5. If you are willing to purchase Visqueen Ultimate bin liners, how likely are you to consider purchasing them online (e.g. on Amazon)?
Hmmm. Not sure I could be bothered to start ordering them online. I still do my food shop weekly, sometimes online or often in store. So to have to remember to order these separately rather than just grab them in the shop. Maybe its a cheaper way to do it, in which case then i might rethink!

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Visqueen Ultimate bin liners to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I do recommend them and will happily use them in the future. They will be especially good for an upcoming kids party, where we have loads of rubbish and need a strong decent bin liner to drag around the village hall!

Solasum · 21/03/2016 10:00

I had the 30L bags.

Q1. These were wonderfully strong. So nice not to have to worry about ripping when taking it out of the bin.

Q2. I have tried many many different brands, and without exception they all rip easily, and our bins are never that heavy

Q3. These are much stronger

Q4. 15p a rubbish bag seems quite a lot to me. But, they are really good bags. My one slight issue was the bag not tearing very well along the perforations.

Q5 . If I could buy them as part of my online shop, I would do so. I probably would not order just binbags from Amazon.

Q6. I would recommend, were binbags ever to arise in conversation

queenoftheschoolrun · 21/03/2016 10:20

I tried the 30L liners.

Q1. What were your overall impressions of Visqueen Ultimate bin liners?

My initial response to opening the packet was "Wow - these look like the Rolls Royce of bin liners!" much to my DH's amusement. He was quite impressed too though. But unfortunately they were slightly too narrow to fit round the top of my bin which was disappointing.

Q2. Are you generally satisfied or frustrated with typical bin liners that you use?

I haven't yet found the perfect bin liner. They either don't fit property or are too flimsy or too expensive!

How do Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compare to them?

Again, they didn't fit properly but they certainly weren't flimsy.

Q3. In terms of strength, how would you rate Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compared to other bin liners you have tried in the past?

These are the strongest liners I've ever used. Impressive but perhaps overkill for my kitchen bin which generally only gets used for empty yoghurt pots and plastic wrappers.

Q4. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Visqueen Ultimate bin liners if you were in need of bin bags?

It would depend on the price. They don't fit my kitchen bin but if I needed liners for other purposes I'd definitely consider them. These will be great for my decluttering project, taking items to the charity shop for which my current liners were definitely too flimsy.

Q5. If you are willing to purchase Visqueen Ultimate bin liners, how likely are you to consider purchasing them online (e.g. on Amazon)?

I might consider buying them online depending on price and delivery options. Would be easier to buy them with my food shopping though.

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Visqueen Ultimate bin liners to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

If it came up in conversation I would recommend them. I can't say I've ever had a conversation with someone about bin liners before these arrived in the post though. Thanks for letting us test them.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 21/03/2016 10:21

Q1. What were your overall impressions of Visqueen Ultimate bin liners?

They don't fit my bin! I have a (what I thought was) bog standard kitchen swing bin and so ordered the equivalent size but they are too tall and narrow. I'm really glad I didn't pay for them as I would be seriously miffed shelling out for expensive bin liners that don't fit!

Q2. Are you generally satisfied or frustrated with typical bin liners that you use? How do Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compare to them?

I usually buy supermarkets own brand so not the cheapest but also not the most expensive. They are usually fine. I tend to empty the kitchen bin frequently as I can't stand it when it gets pongy, so the bags are rarely full which helps with splitting.

Q3. In terms of strength, how would you rate Visqueen Ultimate bin liners compared to other bin liners you have tried in the past?

A bit stronger. I was expecting something that felt a lot more sturdy but these felt like normal bin liners

Q4. In future, how likely are you to consider purchasing Visqueen Ultimate bin liners if you were in need of bin bags?

Quite unlikely. I'd stick with my current ones that I know fit!

Q5. If you are willing to purchase Visqueen Ultimate bin liners, how likely are you to consider purchasing them online (e.g. on Amazon)?

Unlikely, I prefer to get them with my supermarket shop or from Wilkos/Savers when I am getting other household things

Q6. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Visqueen Ultimate bin liners to friends/family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Not really. I haven't found them to be signifcantly better than the usual ones, to justify the increase in price.
